well i now live in lynchburg,VA but i was raised a jersey girl. my great-grandparents came over during WW1 from germany. on my pops side in asbury park and my grandmother was raised by her grandmother in elizbeth. i was all over the state. in jersey city and bayonne until age 12,spent a few years in upstate new york, then my grandmother took us in and we moved to point pleasent beach until i was 20 when i moved to VA. all my family still lives up there except our parents(i wish my in-laws would go back LOL).

we just enjoy lower cost of living(although i say lynchburg is starting to be comparalbe) and the bit slower pace. but man do i miss the boardwalk, ah memories of being a rebel rouser there.i miss the food(TRY to find a good pizza here let alone fresh seafood).

Hi, I am from Deptford, NJ! I have been reading the forum for about two months and this is my first post.

I used to do The Firm workouts and then discovered Cathe. I was really surprised when I found out that Cathe's gym is in Glassboro which is probably 10-15 minutes from my house.

Hi!

Born and raised in Jersey here. I'm a lifer! Never want to leave!

I was raised in a small town in Middlesex county but moved into Monmouth county along the shore line after getting married.

Hi Jerry! I spent most of my life living in Bergen County, NJ, but now I live in NYC. As you know, Bergen County is pretty much the opposite of Cape May! Cape May sounds lovely. Bergen County was all malls and traffic. My life now is so much simpler and easier.

What's your life in Cape May like? Do you have a family? What work do you do? Tell us more!

I was born in Livingston, NJ. Does that count? I've spent most of my life in PA though. Someday I hope to get to Cape May in the fall to bird watch.

Since you asked so nicely, Nancy...

I'm in the male minority when it comes to home exercisers, and I love it this way..home videos have gotten me into the best physical and, just as importantly, mental shape of my life!!

Cathe's Kick, Punch & Crunch is my first foray with her videos, and it's fairly obvious it won't be my last..I am addicted to this workout!!

I work at a small beachfront hotel in Cape May, the Hotel Macomber, seasonally from April thru December, I've worked here for 5 summers, and love it, as much as you can love a job

I live in Rio Grande with my wife of 14 years, Diane, and my cat of 9 years, Simba. I simply must have my 2 week Disney World fix as well..2 weeks in November, right before Turkey Day.

I looke forward to being on these boards a good while!

Jerry

Thanks for sharing, Jerry.

I don't know about other guys, but my DH has tremendous respect for Cathe and does not think of her workouts as a "women's" thing. I'm sure he would be doing Cathe workouts right along with me if he could stand to exercise indoors; but he only exercises outdoors. I can't even get him to go to the gym. Which is fine in the spring and summer, but he turns into a couch potato in the winter and it's a shame.

The hotel sounds lovely! I'm on my way now! ;)

Hey Jerry, can you work out a deal for a room during fall bird migration season for a fellow Catheite? Just kidding, sort of....

Well, I live in the second largest City in New Jersey, but we have none of the stuff you have. No traffic lights (unless you count Blinking Lights, of which we have one) no Wawa, no Starbucks, no grocery stores, no country stores, no gas stations, no restaurants, ... you get the picture:p

Hi Jerry! I'm from Marlton but now live in Essex County. Two totally different worlds for sure. I spent 3 summers in Cape May--rented a fabulous old victorian 2 blocks from the beach w/a bunch of friends--it's my favorite beach on the east coast! You're so lucky to live there.........:)

Hi there,
Fellow Jerseyite transplant here. We live in Egg Harbor Twp., which is about 10 miles outside Atlantic City.

We've been here for almost 20 years (DH and I) but we're originally from Trinidad, Colorado (which is 17 miles from the border of NM).

We enjoy the weather (much less snow!) but miss family.

Kathy

I am one of your neighbors in CT here. I would love to go to Cape May since I have always heard that it is quaint and charming and I love the ocean. We just got back from Vegas which gives a new meaning to hot!

Hey Jerry,

Another Jerseyite here!

My fiancee and I recently bought a house in Sparta (Sussex county), and so I am currently selling my condo in Caldwell (Essex county). But I was born and raised in Paterson and after some years my family moved to Clifton (both in Passaic county).

I just moved to Jersey from Louisiana. I am still adjusting (it is a huge change). We moved from a very large urban city to Hunterdon county, which is beautiful but definitely not a city. I know it's only 45 min from NYC, but I am used to 10 min to everything. It's been a lovely summer (can't believe how cool it is) but I have a feeling that payback is coming. I was really jazzed that I could drive to the Cathe road trip then of course, it sold out in 2 minutes and I didn't get even to go. Wah! We went to Philly for the first time last weekend, there is just so much in this area. Neat.

I live in NH now, but I'll always be a Jersey Girl! I grew up in Cranford (north), but now visit Mom in Colts neck and my brother in Brielle.
