Hi all -

I've been reading about the Pure Strength and MIS tapes in my exercise video review site, and I'm very interested, but wonder when are you ready for this stuff? I've been working out for the past year (after a hiatus to have a baby) and currently use Firm tapes, Kathy Smith Lift Weights to Lose Weight, and Cory Everson's Get Hard Arms. These are all good, but short, and I'm up to 12 lb dumbbells and a barbell with 5 lbs on each end. But Cathe seems just so far beyond all that. Should I wait until I can lift much heavier weight before even trying her tapes?

Great Tapes!

Hi Beth!
I am a Beth too. I absolutely love Cathe's PS tapes and if you have experience lifting weights (I have the Cory tape myself) I don't see why you couldn't use this series. As Cathe always emphasizes, use a weight that's right for YOU. At first you may really need to play around with different weights in order to see just what is right, but once you have it down, you can adjust when things get too easy. I think these tapes are extremely flexible and can be used by anyone with a basic knowledge of how to properly work with weights. Although, with all the wonderful pointers Cathe gives on the tapes, I think anyone could pick it up. Hope this helps!

Go for it!!

Hi Beth!

You are ready for these tapes! Yes, Cathe uses pretty heavy weights but she is one very strong lady. That doesn't mean you have to lift that heavy, as Cathe says "do what works for you". If I'm not mistaken, some of the background exercisers in the videos are using the same weight on their barbells as you are currently using and their dumb bells might even be lighter than the 12 lbs you have.

These are great tapes, plus check out the discount you get when you order them all at once!!

Happy lifting!
