This weekend us Canucks have our Thanksgiving dinner. I'm trying to decide which workout to do in the morning, so I can feel justified in going back for seconds. I'm open to any and all ideas. I have all Cathe's workouts, and I also enjoy running.

Thanks,
Sandra

Any of the workouts on Hardcore Extreme: Interval Circuit, Hi/Lo Intervals or Interval Blast plus legs. I think any of the Terminator workouts would also work.

Alternatively, you could do an A-Jock mish-mosh. The 15-15-15-15 one she came up with recently is absolutely killer:)

Hey Sandra, I'm looking at the options and what I think I might do is mix up 2 Terminators; say the warm up and first three cycles of IMAX-Xtreme skipping the weights and then the Gauntlet from the first cycle on. I don't think it would be much more than 90 minutes, what do you think?:)...oops...didn't mean to answer your question with a question:+ :D

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hi Sandra - I'm going to try for a run on Sunday. The weather here in Southern Ontario is supposed to be GORGEOUS, and we won't get too many more of those days!

Laurie - ARE YOU CRAZY?! Oops, didn't mean to answer your question of my question with a question LOL! I had to review my notes on these workouts to get a sense of exactly what you're suggesting, and unless I'm misinterpreting you - YOU'RE CRAZY! And I mean that with affection. It would also take 1 hr and 50 minutes, or thereabouts. If you do this, make sure you let me know how it goes. Mind you, you can run a half-a-thon, so I think your endurance is more enduring than mine.

But you always have super mish-mosh ideas, so I'd love to hear any others that you have cooking up. I'd also be open to doing a TGiving day "challenge" with any Canadians who are also planning to have a full turkey dinner on Sunday.

Sandra

Ooooooh, Shelley you have no idea how much I envy you!!! And Laurie, too. Fall in your part of the world is really OUT of this world. Here in Edmonton, the leaves turn yellow and fall off three days later. Very anticlimatic. I'd run, too, if I lived in your part of the world. Have a great one!

Here are your options:

Drill Max or Body Max 2 if they have arrived; OR

15-15-15-15 mish-mosh; OR

My copyright-pending Turkey Burner Mish-Mosh from Turkey Day 2-Ought-5:

CTX 10-10-10 warm-up, kickbox and hi/lo segments
Step Jump Pump hi/lo only add-on premix hi/lo segments 1-3
Step Blast BLASTS 1-3 (use Mix n Match feature for this)
High Step Training ADVANCED cardio only premix (see below)
I-Max 3 BLASTS 1, 7, 3, 6 and 9 IN THAT ORDER (use Mix n Match feature for this) (see below)

Running time: approximately 62 minutes

The High Step Training ADVANCED DVD uses the short high step in the workout. I personally don't have a high step, but I'm able to use the short side of my traditional step instead. Note that the last cardio cycle of HSTA is straddle taps, which I personally need to go to a lower (6" rather than my normal 8") step for. If you need to use a lower step for straddle taps then certainly do so.

Note that I-Max 3 blasts 1 (straddle taps and side jumps onto step) and 7 (my beloved multi-level jacks) are probably safer on a lower step as well; thus you can do HSTA cardio cycle 5 and I-Max 3 blasts 1 and 7 on the lower step; then hit the PAUSE button and raise your step back to a higher level (if desired) for the rest of the blasts. The remaining blasts are step-oriented, so you'll get plenty of use out of your step in this workout.

Go wild. Wild Turkey. (ar ar)

I like doing Bootcamp on Thanksgiving and Christmas mornings. It's tough and I'm drenched by the end if I give it my all.

Sandra...I did A-Jocks Turkey Burner mish mosh last year, that she kindly posted above. WOW!!! I was sweating buckets and had a great time...:)

A-Jock -

Thanks for coming up with this great mish-mosh! I never thought I'd be able to do one of your mish-moshes but after 3 days of eating badly }( and not working out very hard, I needed something today to kick my butt and this mish-mosh did the trick! :) I worked hard and really gave it my all. My brain said "No way" as I went from blast to blast but my willpower and determination said "C'mon, you can do it!" and I did it! What an exhilarating feeling.

I don't have a multi-DVD player though so had to spend more time switching between DVDs. That was okay though cuz I needed the time to catch my breath ;-) . According to my HRM, I burned 627 calories in about 70 minutes. BTW, it was really evil of you to stick those Imax3 blasts at the end when you're tired. }(

I definitely plan to do this one again. Thank you and keep those mish-moshes coming.

Sue

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! AJock's mish moshes are always highly creative and off-the-intensity-scale. I'm collecting them for the day that I buy a programmable multi-disk dvd player. I don't like cardio workouts where I have to pause frequently to change disks. I feel like the extra breather I get is "cheating."

What I ended up doing was.....an idea that I came up with on my own :) I wanted to do the SB/SJP 90 min all-cardio premix, but didn't want to do it as Cathe configured it. So, I programmed my dvd player to do it this way:

SB warm up;
SB combo 1;
SJP combo 1;
SJP hi/lo 1;
SB Blast Challenge Round 1;

SB combo 2;
SJP combo 2;
SJP hi/lo 2;
SB Blast Challenge Round 2;

SB combo 3;
SJP combo 3;
SJP hi/lo 3;
SB Blast Challenge Round 3;

SJP combo 4;
SJP hi/lo 4;
SB stretch.

This took 90 minutes, and felt like a party. It was more fun than any workout has a right to be. The intensity levels were swirled through out. I was having so much fun, I didn't want the party to end, so after I ate a bowl of cereal, I pulled out good 'ol Push Pull for a quick and dirty total body weight workout. So, I think I've earned me a turkey dinner!

The next time I do this workout, I'm going to mix up the cardio segments so that I'm not doing all the 1's together, 2's together, etc. Just 'cause I get bored easy.

Gobble gobble!
Sandra

Me, my Mom,Dad, and anyone who wants to join us go for a Turkey Trot every Thankgiving...We go to a local track and move for 50 mins...some of us walk, combo walk/run, or just run...then after we eat we all take a turkey induced nap...
