What kind of bra do I need?

OK, this may be a dumb question, but I've never worn tank tops until this summer. My arms never looked good so I never wore them. Since I began working out with Cathe I've lost a lot of weight and I have recently completed a round of P90X and now I feel confident wearing them. Anyway, I've bought three tank tops, but don't wear them because I'm always worried about my bra strap showing. I keep readjusting my straps and then I don't feel comfortable wearing the top. What do you all wear? I wear a 36A bra, so my breasts are not very big. What do you guys suggest?

not a dumb question at all! Unfortunately, I don't know...I'd have the same question myself. Although it might help people answer if you can tell how wide the shoulder straps on the tank tops are? I only wear tank tops that take up the whole shoulder area...just that the sleeve is cut off...becuase of that issue!

I have a bunch of bras from VS that come with regular straps and the clear straps that can be put on. Great for tank tops.

Yeah, these are the kind of tops that have pretty narrow straps, but not spaghetti straps. Never thought about those bras with the clear straps! I wondered what those were for!

Three options:
There are strapless bras available, including those stick-on cups.

QVC sells something called "Hollywood Fahion Tape," two-sided tape strips that hold two pieces of fabric (like a bra strap and a tank top) or fabric and skin together.

Another option: buy some bras with cute straps and do what most teens and college students seem to do: let them show (I personally don't get it, and wouldn't do it intentionally!).

Another suggestion: depending on the cut and style of the tank top, a racer-back bra might work better.

There are plenty of tank tops that have straps thick enough to cover a bra. What kind did you buy? I would return them for the kind thick enough to cover a bra strap.

I wear a nude color bra. Tha straps might show a little, but the nude color blends in with your skin. Clear straps work well also.

I would suggest a racerback bra. I, myself, have an assortment of bras in various colors and try to match the bra as closely to the tank top. If it shows a bit, I don't really care.

I think alot of us have gone through this. I tend to wear a bra with relavitely thin straps when I wear a tank - beige - if the straps show, so be it. If I am wearing dark tank tops, especially black, then I wear a black bra. This is of course for casual.

If I was wearing a "dressier" tank to a party, then I try to make sure the straps are covered or wear the clear type.

Good luck - as with anything, it's just a matter of finding what you are comfortable doing.

By the way I'm in my 40's not a college or high school student.
