1. You need at least three sets of feet to make it through a week's worth of walking and sightseeing;
2. Every other person, including the unborn, is a runner;
3. There is a memorial, monument or museum every five feet;
4. The Capital Hilton is the ONLY place to stay, being 2 blocks from Chez Dubya;
5. There are more people from other countries in DC than in their countries themselves;
6. If you look for an open restaurant in the business district over the Labor Day Holiday in the evening you're really screwed;
7. There are only two types of people in the Beltway: VIPs (Very Important Persons) and VUPs (Very Unimportant Persons). DH and I are VUPs. In spades.
8. When a man in a white button-down shirt, black tie and black slacks, and large firearm tells you to do anything you do it with a smile.
9. The presidential memorials are unbelievably majestic;
10. Any Smithsonian museum worth its salt has the power to make me realize I'm a moron, a pipsqueak and an underachiever within approximately 90 seconds.
HAD AN AWESOME TIME! Was glad to get back though: had almost a two-week case of Catheus Interruptus that was a little difficult to take.
