What exercises for Meso and Endo type body?

Hi Everyone,

Need your opinions please.

I'm between a mesomorph and endomorph body type. I gain weight just by thinking of food and lose weight very very slowly.

I've heard that there are exercises and a way of eating for these types of bodies. I guess I'm looking for less work and more pay off. I know it is hard work to keep our bodies fit, but man can it be just a little easier? I'm willing to work as hard as I have to, to continue with my journey, but if this is just hype, I'd like to know and continue with what I've been doing.

My goal is to continue to get stronger and watch out for the body fat that just creeps on if I don't.

I also saw a thread to do less cardio and more strength training, but since I've been doing that I've gained weight. So I need cardio at least 6 days out of the week. Usually 40 min. I split up my strength exercises to 3 days a week and add a yoga once a week. If not I gain. I eat between 1200-1400 calories a day. Three days low and the 4th day high.

I have no arguments about the way I look right now, I see muscle definition and a lean body, but want less work to stay this way. Just want to do the job with as little work as possible. Oh, and I'm 55 years old.
