Hi, I'm new here and just got started on Cathe. What workouts of hers would you suggest to see quick results? I'm being realistic - I don't expect to be a goddess in a month.

Thanks! Lisa

In my opinion for weightloss, would be any of the Imaxes and KPC. For strength and toning, I would definitley say the whole Gymstyle series. It really depends on what your goals are and how much time you have. Muscle Endurance is great for legs and Body Max is a great overall workout, but very long. Bootcamp is great for toning and burning a lot of calories. They are all so good! It really does depend on your goal. Do you want to lose weight or just tone or all muscle mass etc...

I think it really depends upon your goals. There is not one specific answer. You can check the rotations board & look at all of Cathe's pinned rotations for some good ideas. There are also some other excellent ideas by other forum members, too.

The key to getting results, whatever they may be, is to constantly keep your body guessing. You may get great results from one or two workouts but as soon as your body adjusts to the stresses on it, your results will taper. I would get a variety of dvd's to start just to mix things up. Maybe one pure cardio (the IMAX 1 dvd has rhythmic step and Max intensity cardio), a circuit (any of her circuits would be great, most have more than one workout), and some weight training stuff (maybe a total body workout to start, like Muscle Max). Also, you may want to consider getting Cross Train Express. It's a variety of workouts that include cardio segments that end with a weight training segments for one body part. There is also a kickboxing workout included and a pure circuit workout as well. I know a lot of people do a purely CTX rotation sometimes and seem to get good results.

What "results" are you looking for: weight loss? muscular definition? strength increases? cardiovascular endurance?

When the Intensity Series came out there was a lot of hustle and bustle about results (fat loss and muscle development), I believe. There were several rotations posted by Cathe using just the I-Series and there were several people doing all sorts of rotations using the I-Series and the premixes. I was fairly new to Cathe then but I remember the forums were all buzzing about this awesome series and the results people were seeing. If you don't like your current results I would find and do workouts for a while that are completely different from your current rotation/workout plan or mix and match from the many premixes workouts on DVD. Also, look at the rotations posted by Cathe and Fitness Freak...may rotations for many different goals!

Edited to add, that I just went back and read that you are just starting out with Cathe. When I started out with her, I just ordered what interested me the most and went for it. I had to build up to the workouts and had to rest more, but I dropped the pounds like mad b/c she was so much more intense then the Firms I had been doing. I was also on Weight Watchers but I had to eat more points b/c I was so hungry from the workouts yet still dropped all 23 pounds I wanted to drop. I need to get back on an eating plan and lose about 10 again...bleh!

I think that croos train express is a great video set if you are new to Cathe...It's what I started with...and you kind of get a taste of everything. It is well worth the money and all of the workouts are a little under an hour. Before starting with this video I had hit a plateau, since starting I have lost 8 pounds and numerous inches and gained muscle mass. You will have to add to your collection at some point, but this is a great starting place.

Have fun and good luck!
