What can I expect on JL Slim & Lean?

Hi all. Just got Jari's slim & lean today (only other of hers that I have is RTTC) and probably won't get a chance to preview it before I attempt it tomorrow am. What can I expect in terms of weights to use (I use mostly 10s and 12s with an occasional 15s on RTTC)? TIA

They list the weights they use on-screen (a bit into each exercise). I recommend starting with that as a guideline, then moving up if you want (and can) the next time you do the workout.

This is a very high-rep workout, so don't try to be too ambitious (I often tend to be!).

You may use your 10's, 12's and 15's on some moves (like back and legs), but for most, 5, 8 and 10 are plenty (at least to start).

I also read somewhere, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the weight listed is the total weight...ie. Jari's uses 10lb...really means she's using 2-5lb dumbells.

There are about 10-15 exercise segments - each segment is one or two exercises targeting a specific muscle group. and there are a lot of reps.

The weight they show is TOTAL weight - not per dumbell. I started with following Jari's weight load.

Enjoy!

S&L is tougher than it looks and that burn really sneaks up on you so be careful choosing your weights! }(

So I did this this morning and used Jari's weights, and I gotta say I didn't like this nearly as much as I liked RTTC. I didn't sweat nearly as much and despite the higher reps I didn't think it was as much of a workout as the compound exercises provide. (I actually think I had geared myself up for even higher reps) For those of you who use these consistently, when you increase your weights is S&L a much tougher workout for you?

When I first did S&L and GRTTC, S&L seemed so long to me, and I liked GRTTC much better. But I like S&L more and more each time I do it. I've been able to increase weight pretty quickly and it does add to the challenge.
