What Are "Step Ups"?

Hi, Cathe Crowd! Please pardon my ignorance, but what exactly are "Step Ups"? I was intrigued by a previous thread on the subject, as intrigued as a person can be when she has no clue what is being talked about! :) Is is weighted leg work using a step platform to step up and down, squat, lunge, etc. to a rhythmic beat? Or something else? And is Cathe going to do a video about it? (Hint, hint! :))

Thanks for your info!

You got it!

Annette, you guessed right! Step ups are done using either a barbell or dumbbells, stepping up onto (usually) a taller step (12-17 inches depending upon your height and fitness level). Cathe already has step ups in the Pure Strength legs video, and I think they might also be in CTX Leaner Legs and/or Circuit Max (not sure about that, though).

you can get a good image also by looking up

they sell 14 inch steps for step up and show you an example of the form..

supposedly they are a great way to lift the tush....

The thread you are reading might be the one I am in where we are testing the step up by adding 2 sets 3 times a week to our workout for a month and then seeing how things look back there!
