Wendy, Imani, Jen V.-Post Partum Check-in?

Hi Girls (and anyone else who just had a baby). Wendy, I saw that you posted on "Fit moms check in", and someone had recommended the Postpartum check in, as it would be more appropriate having just had a baby. I tried to find that one, but I couldn't (well, I was too lazy to check the other pages). If you find it, let me know. And, if it's not active anymore, let's start one.

Little Andy had his first round of immunizations today:( I don't know who was more upset (him, me or my DH). Andy cried the biggest tears I've seen him cry yet. He's passed out right now.

Wendy, I am happy to see that Joey and you are doing well. Imani, how are you, and how is your little girl? Jen, how did your 6 week check up go? How is your little guy?

p.s. Wendy, I saw your post about Bfeeding. I, too, had a hard time at first. Andy actually lost weight twice in the hospital, and the nurses showed me how to give him some formula with a syringe. They recommended letting him suck on my (clean) index finger to help him develop his sucking reflex. I believe that this worked. I was VERY sore at first, but that has since gotten better-thank the Lord! Just be patient, and it will smooth out. La Leche League's website is great, and they also have some good books full of information. I got one called The Womanly Art of BFeeding at the library. It answered a lot of my ?s. Hang in there!

Hey Jen.

I did a search for a post partum check in and it appears that there hasn't been one since some time last year so I'm thinking we should just start a new one...

To be honest Jen, I haven't tried getting Joey to latch on to my breast in several days. I have switched gears and am concentrating on pumping now. I know I probably gave up too quick but I was getting very frustrated (as was he) and didn't want it to ruin what is supposed to be a wonderful and amazing time in my and Joey's lives. I know I probably should have given it a better effort and contacted la leche, etc but I just couldn't. I'll probably invest in an electric pump and continue to bottle feed him breast milk and formula as needed.

So ladies, the wonderful news about mom---I'VE LOST OVER 20 POUNDS ALREADY!!!! WA HOO!!! :7 :+ :7 :+ :7

Hope everyone else is doing well and getting as much rest as they can!:)

Yeah Wendy!!!! :)

Wendy-Hooray on the weight loss! I lost 26 pounds so far (still need to lose 15). O.K., let's start the postpartum forum. I'll start it now, and then, each week, whoever gets to it first (I have an idea, it will be you-you were so good about keeping the moms to be one going), can start it. Hopefully, others will join us.
