Weights used in P90X?

Yes, I am a little slow at jumping on this bandwagon. I got the program for Christmas and have not tried it yet but am wondering if there are suggestions made for what weight to use for each exercise or if you pick your own. I don't mind having somewhat of a reference point to add or subtract from.
I'm excited to start!

Calee-
Congrats on your X purchase! Truly a fabulous program..."Mental Toughness Required!"

You first decide if you want to lift in the 8-10 rep range or the 12-15 range...From there you choose your own weight load.

The focus is that EVERY time you repeat a workout you up your weights (even very small) so you are continually pushing your muscles.

So in weeks 1-3 you'll do the same workouts- use the log..its a valuable tool!
If you did 10 toe push ups and 5 knee push ups in week one - strive for 11 toe pushups + your knee ones in week 2 etc.... For the weights.... Try and go up in weight as much as you safely can each workout.

HTH! Enjoy!!!

My DH is supposed to start doing the X in the new year. He started it a while back but I don't even think he lasted a month before he petered out. :p Anyway, he's going to make me want to do it with him and STS is on it's way! *gasp* What's a girl to do!?!?

ITA with Traci. The X is a fantastic program! Enjoy it! I was able to up my weights alot over the course of 3 months. The change in my body was incredible.

Sounds great, thanks for the info. I suppose I'll have to try a few times to get the right weight. You know what workouts I'll be doing to start the new year!
