Weights feel heavier

Hi! I am 18 weeks pregnant, and I have found that my weights "feel heavier" than they did before. I do very light weights anyhow, but since I've been pregnant I've found that my shoulders just can't quite handle the weight that I was using before. I hate to drop down much lighter, so if I get too tired I usually do every-other rep. I have especially had trouble doing military presses and push-ups. (I now do push-ups on my knees, which is easier.)

I often wonder if my weaker feeling is due to my pregnancy, or if it's because I just haven't pushed myself as hard since I've been pregnant.

Has anyone else experienced this weaker feeling related to weight-lifting?

Thanks!

Elena

Hi Elena, I too had that same issue. I suddenly felt weaker around the 16 week mark. I cant say for sure why it happens but in my opinion our bodies are doing overtime and the energy needed to put towards weight training is going towards making a baby. After I had my ds I was able to return to my old workouts pretty quickly. I hope this helps and congratulations oh and come join us on the weekly check in

Do you live in beautiful Hawaii??

You think they're heavy now, just wait. I do push ups, I still do em and I'm 29 weeks. Do what you can and push ups work just as well on your knees;-)
Good luck!!
