Weighted Vest recommendation

Hi everyone :)

I am looking to purchase a weighted vest soon for STS :D. I see several brands out there and would like any
helpful feedback/tips/suggestions on which one to purchase. Is there really a big difference between Cathe's vest and the others?

If you don't think you will need anything more than a 20# vest, I say get Cathe's.

I originally bought this one because it could go up to 40#. I found it to be very restrictive and I almost felt like I was being suffocated. Plus I got really hot in it.

Needless to say, I hated using it and then ended up buying Cathe's 12-20# anyway. Cathe's is nice because the front is open and the fabric is almost wicking in a way so I feel it breathes much better.

I'm with Julie - I really like Cathe's 12-20 lb. weighted vest. It's easy to shrug in & out of & the weights are easy in-easy out.

I recently bought a weighted vest at Marshall's in Ajax (I know you are from the Bradford area from previous posts!) The brand name is GoFit, and I think I only paid $20.00 for it - it was on clearance along with several other fitness accessories. It is only a 10 pound vest and it's ok - maybe a bit bulky. I had looked at National Sports and they had several types of weighted vests but they were much more expensive, but not as bulky I guess. This one goes on over your head and does up in the front with velcro straps. If you get a chance pop into either a Marshall's (there are a few in the Toronto area) or even Winner's. From time to time I have been able to find fitness accessories at these stores, even Cathe's brand name stuff! Good luck!

I have two weighted vests. I have Cathe's vest, and a full vest similar to the vest jldx2in2000 posted in a link. The full vest is very hot.
I prefer Cathe's vest, it's more comfortable.
 
I bought Cathe's. Gin Miller has one but I think I bought the better one. Cycle 3 is when I used mine.

Cathe seems to be the winner here :). What I like about hers especially is that the front is open, while most of the others are not. I hate being hot & bothered during my workouts (I sweat profusely :eek:).

Thanks for the store tips! I've never seen a Marshall's before :confused:, and I never knew Winners carried fitness equipment. Thanks for the heads-up!
