Weight Loss Help

Hi,

I have put on a few pounds and am having such a hard time sticking to a weight loss plan.

I think the Weight Watchers philosphy is a great one but I am not sure. What have ya'll found to work for you. I need to lose about 10 pounds.

I am 5'1" and 10 years ago when I lost weight before I did it with phen/phen. I did keep the 30 pounds off and have not regained the whole amount. I feel like since I am so short I have to starve myself to really lose.

Please help!!!

I have to say that WW for me was the best program around, though it has changed a lot since I used it 15 years ago. To me, it is the closest thing to eating as you would in everyday life (accounting for all types of plans, body types, occasions). I was able to lose 150 lbs on it.

Being short shouldn't be an obstacle. What you need to do is incorporate the lifting & cardio in tandem with a good diet (this is the key factor) and you will absolutely see results. Lifting has done things to rev my metabolism that I never achieved before. I was able to shed 25 more pounds after my son was born (though I crept up a few years prior).

I'm ready! I'm ready! I'm ready!

I have heard of and seen some dramatic changes in people who chose to follow Tosca Reno's "Eat Clean Diet." If you follow it just like she writes it out, it would be difficult to fail. I also follow the plan but not to lose weight. Although that wasn't my goal, I did lose weight. It's more of a lifestyle change.

I'm doing WW now and I've lost over 25 pounds. I'd put 50 lbs each time I was pregnant (I have two kids) and found it easy to lose the first 25 or so but struggled beyond that. Now I'm down to pre-pregnancy size though I plan to lose a little more since I was already a tad on the pudgy side before having kids. WW has two plans to choose from now (which you can switch around as you want) and I am doing the one called "Core" which is a lot like eating clean--not counting calories so much as eating the best foods and not sugary or fatty or processed foods. It's working great for me.

I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to lose weight, though, as long as it's something sensible and doable and something you can keep up to maintain the weight loss once you reach your goal (like I know I could never do a low-carb diet).

i have to say that what has worked for me to be in a "happy place" with my body/weight is eating as clean as possible. however, that being said, every major success story i've heard from people i know personally have been attributed to WW. they really seem to have a great perspective on what works for everyone, every body, and every lifestyle.

Another sensible dieting option is Ediets.com . They offer a variety of plans depending on your tastes and preferences.

Any weight loss that is permanent has to be part of a lifestyle, not just a 'weight-loss plan.' Make changes you can live with forever, and start making 'better choices' to help you reach your goal.
