Weight loss goal

Cathlete
Hi to all, I posted this question on Ask Cathe, but I know she must be quite busy with getting ICE completed and ready for us to enjoy. Can't wait. So I'm asking you fellow exercisers.
A combination of factors; a little bit of hypothyroidism following a thyroid cancer and age...I just turned 60, have resulted in a weight gain that I have a hard time to combat. After discussing with my doctor, a little increase in my Syntroid dosage should help, but of course I would like to compliment that with a sound exercise program and clean eating.
I am 5'5" with a good muscle mass and I am presently doing Phase 2 of STS (still 3 weeks to go). I will not be doing Phase 3, as the last time I did it I felt like Hulk!!! I prefer rotations as I don't question what's on them, I just do it. I have pretty much all your last releases (4 Day Split, STS, Low Impact system, X Train and soon ICE), along with many of your classics. My goal is to loose around 10 lbs, but of course keep the muscle mass.
My strength is really...strength training. I do cardio about 3/week, but my HR gets high quite easily and I get winded easily as well. That might be another goal, to increase my hearth capacity, but I know I should concentrate on one goal at the time.
Could you please suggest where I should concentrate and what kind of rotation I should do for the few months ahead? I thank you in advance for your suggestions.

You might get more improvement if you include some yoga because it works in a different way than cardio, try rapid breath of fire technique to improve your cardiovascular output. It helps focus your breathing and really helped my ability to perform cardio. I suggest doing a lower intensity cardio workout two times a week and an interval based high intensity workout just once a week. You need time to recover form intense cardio, your heart is a muscle too and must heal in order to get stronger. I have found that even though it seems counter intuitive, that an interval workout of just 30 minutes (pick any Hiit you like!) paired with 20 minutes of yoga is more effective than just cardio alone.

Btw, I just want you to know that I support you in your quest for health in the face of a very challenging issue. I am also coming off the bench from being on steroids for health reasons, and I have to lose 50 lbs I had thought I had lost forever. Dang it
