Weight loss check-in

Steppingup

Cathlete
Hey everyone! I think Susan said she was going out of town so I thought I would start this. I did very well as far as my workouts. My eating has been good except for Sunday but otherwise I have eaten very healthy. I have actually started gaining weight and I don't know what is up with that. I don't think it is muscle but maybe...

Anyway, how is everyone else doing. Anything to report...good, bad, or otherwise? I'm all ears...actually I'm mostly hips and thighs but that really doesn't sound right. LOL!

:) Kelly

Hi Kelly!

Its been a while since I posted. I got totally off track and stopped using the computer since I had a lot of outside issues to deal with. But I'm back :) I re-joined weight watchers 2 months ago and have gotten back into working out and have lost 10.8 lbs as of today.

Sounds like you are doing great with your workouts. Sometimes in the summer I drink so much I get almost bloated, are you drinking more? Maybe your muscles are holding onto the water? Hopefully the metabolism will kick in soon from all your hard work and muscle building.

Marci

Hi Kelly, I agree with Marci, I'm sure it will all come together soon. You're doing a good job.
Marci, hi...what a wonderful weight loss...congrats!!
As I said on the other check in, I had a horrible week with a lot of stress going on. Instead of exercising like I should have to help the stress, I ate. An old habit, still there!
It's rather depressing, but all I can do is start again! (Which I did, yesterday & today.)
Have a great week everyone,
Ruth

Marci, great job on that 10 pounds. You are doing so well. Keep it up...or down as the case may be. I was glad to hear from you again!

Ruth, sorry your life has been stressful lately. I tend to want to eat when I get stressed also. I don't understand that but I have to fight it very often. Every day is a new day so just don't worry about yesterday and focus on today! Easier said than done, right?

Ya'll have a great day!!!

Kelly

Thanks for the kind words, Kelly...you guys are so nice & supportive. The horror of the past few days continues on but I have decided to do as you say, & try to meet each day's challenge while doing my best.
That old eating habit will NOT be allowed to become an ingrained habit again. Not gonna happen!
Well, at least I didn't take up smoking again...
Ruth :)

Hi Everyone! Happy 4th of July!

I am excited to share with you my progress in the weight loss department! I decided to get on the scale this morning and got below the number (160 lbs) I had been stuck above since January! 159 lbs! So, I guess that's 9 pounds total I've lost. Yippie.

Also, I just thought I'd mention that I lost this weight solely by exercising, no dieting. My diet is pretty good anyway, but I mainly have a portion problem! I am not a big junk food lover, so I guess that helps. Anyway, 6 of those pounds were lost since I discovered Cathe in the April timeframe (began exercising consistently in January 2001).

Have a nice holiday!

LAST EDITED ON Jul-04-01 AT 06:28PM (Est)[p]Hello everyone - can a join your check-in.

I am working a lot of overtime at work for the next month or so and am not able to work out as often as I like, but I am trying to stay with eating good. I get home around 7:30 in the evening and my daughter makes me oatmeal. Also, my sone helps me make my lunch for the next day (I try to stay with salad and tuna). God bless both of my children helping me through this time. Anyway, I probably won't be able to post everyday, but would like some inspiration to help me along. I read the posts so far and you all seem so supportive of eachother.

Congrats Marci on your weight loss. It's very hard to stay on track when your dealing with stressful situations.

Well, thanks everyone for listening to me.
Havea wonderful 4th:)

I'm in the same situation right now, working a lot of overtime, trying to help a friend through hell & back out again (hopefully), & strange hours to begin with. I'm trying to do as much as I can, & have started over eating clean as much as possible. So we can encourage each other!
Cruncholi, GREAT JOB!! You must be so tickled...
Ruth :)

It is wonderful that you are helping a friend through a tough time. I went through a divorce last year and had no one here to help me through it. All of my family live in Michigan and I live in New Mexico. I had co-workers, but not the same. My mom and aunt came out to visit, but could only stay a week. I went the rest alone. I did have my children though and they kept me sane. You friend is one lucky person to have you there for them. I congratulate you on helping.

I worked a twelve hour shift again today, but kept with my bran breakfast, salad and tuna lunch and oatmeal dinner. I snacked in two balance bars and watermelon and peach during the rest of the day. I hope to keep this up. I think I can start my workouts again on Saturday, my overtime at work will stop until around July 23, then our big move to our new building starts and probably mega overtime.

Anyway, I plan to workout as much as I can until then.

Everyone hang in there and have a good Friday:)

I just wanted to say "WELCOME" Amcarabajal! You are to be congratulated on trying so hard to fit in workouts when you schedule is so bad. It's that kind of dedication that will get you where you want to be. I hope things settle down for you eventually so working out can be easier to fit in. Have fun!

Kelly

Thank you Kelly for your warm welcome and inspirational words. I actually did get up and workout this AM. It felt wonderful. As for eating, yesterday was bad. I didn't pack my lunch so lunch was a sandwich and fries form the deli next door. Then for dinner I had tortilla chips. What a diet:-(

Anyway, there is always today to start over. Hope everyone is doing great and have a good weekend.:)

Ann

Hi Ann,
Thanks for your kind words. So glad to "meet" you!
One of the hardest parts of trying to "live clean" for me is the time factor. And I know I have it pretty easy compared to parents, especially single parents.
Not that I didn't do my time! Son, grown & on his own!
I too have good & bad days, especially in the diet arena. I find that I do better when I work, because there is not a whole lot of time to eat...I just "snack" all day long, & I only bring healthy snacks to work, so...
It's harder for me when here at home. Also, I have that food disorder thing where you eat well all day & then pig out at 2a.m.
As long as I take my meds on time & get to sleep at a reasonable time, I can avoid it. But it's always lurking!
My sweet HB surprised me yesterday with a bike, which I've wanted for ever so long! Used of course, but really nice! I really look forward to some cross training now...
Stay in touch (when you have time, LOL)
Ruth :)
