Weight loss check in

What do you say ladies......are we going to keep doing this?

No changes here this week. I think I really need to shake my body up because what I am eating now and how I am exercising is making no difference to my fat loss. I have shifted some of the fat to muscle in the past but it has really slowed down if not come to a standstill.

I have had several suggestions of books to buy but my husband says to see if they have them at the library because we have too many books here now. (No one will want to move us.....we have so many books around!) Maybe I'll get rid of some of the ones I don't want any more and then I can make some new purchases!

Anyway, I am happy and reasonably healthy. I have a aching back and my right knee is sore.....I have fallen on that knee so many times over the years.

How is everyone else?

Stepping up.....I hear your week at the beach was great....what a nice break from regular life.

Crystal.....how are you doing? I hope you are still making progress.

If no one wants to do this anymore...that is all right by me. I just thought I'd keep going with it and see if we got more of a following.

Well our following is lousy, guess no one else has to lose weight ;-) but hey I'll hang in there if you will!!

I don't recall if you only have few pounds to lose or not
but I have what feels like a ton to lose, 65 lbs! It gets discouraging but I'm trying to focus on making the most of each day.

Last week I only got in 1 workout, I have no excuse. This week is going great so far 3 workouts already! 2 yesterday (a.m. & p.m.). Miracle of miracles I dragged myself out of bed and did a.m. workouts before work yesterday & today!

I'm going to emphasize cardio 4 to 5 times per week for a while and do weights twice to see if I can kick start this weightloss. I'm looking forward to seeing if it works as it once did years ago!

Have a great week

Hey Susan and Crystal,

I have been out of the loop lately. As Susan mentioned I was at the beach all last week. Had a blast. It was nice to get away; although I think I probably gained some since I ate big time. I will not weigh though until I get back on track. Those last few pounds are proving to be a toughy. This week has been catching up on work that I didn't get to do last week. Vacation is great but the getting ready for it and catching up after it makes you wonder if it's worth it. But really I had a great time with all my family and watching my 2-year-old. He was so much fun!

Like I said I fell off the wagon big time last week but plan to get back in the swing of things today. I'm doing better with my eating this week. That hasn't been hard since my fridge went out and I had to shift food to my mother's house. I got my new "used" fridge today and it's bigger and better. Yeaaaaa!

Anyway, thanks Susan for starting this thread. I hope to get these last few pounds off in the next couple of months. We had thought about trying to have another baby in the next few months but I'm not sure if I'm ready or not. I want to enjoy my skinniness a little longer. But my eggs aren't getting any younger.

Better go, didn't mean to wright a novel. :)

Hi guys....glad you had a nice holiday Kelly. Good luck in losing those last few pounds you want to lose and also in trying to have another baby. I just loved being pregnant....I sang and talked to both my kids before they were born and often thought they gave me 'funny' looks after they were born...as if saying 'so that is where that funny sound was coming from'.

Crystal....you must be really energetic this week. I just don't want you to overdo it. I have overdone it sometimes and then I got all achy in my muscles....I'm sure you know what you are doing...but sometimes I can't help sounding like someone's mother!

The goal was for me to lose 35 pounds. That is what they said I should lose at the gym I went to...I lost 20 pounds and have another 15 to go. They really didn't put it that way. They wanted me to lose so much fat and gain so much muscle and I know I have swapped some fat weight with muscle weight, but there is still lots of the jiggly stuff hanging on. Hope that wasn't too confusing. I would like to go lower than they said but I'd be quite happy with the 15. There is one figure on the scale I just can't seem to get past.....I sometimes go up a bit and then down...but never lower that this one figure.

Life is too short to fret a lot over this. There are a lot of good things going on in my life and I don't want to be obsessed with my weight. I do want to take a look and change some of the things I eat. I have been changing things around....like eating breakfast now and substituting some high fat things with low fat things.

Much more information than you wanted....right? ;-)

Hope you both have a good week and stay happy :)

Thanks Susan

We all need a little "mothering" now and then :) and you're
right I have burned out overdoing it before so I won't push too
hard. I can't wait to be able to say I only have 15 pounds to lose. Congratulations on your weightloss so far!

Have a great weekend

Hi!

I would like to be a part of your check-in...I have about 10-15 lbs to lose and am on Weight Watchers. I work out about 6 times per week, mainly with Cathe tapes. How often do you check in?

Hi.....welcome :)

We have been checking in on Mondays...whoever wants to start first can start us off.

It is nice to have you join us....talk with you on Monday! :)

Hi ladies,

I would like to join your check-in too. I need to lose about 40 lbs. (give or take 5). I can't believe that only 2 years ago my weight was fine (my strength/toning was another story!) & I managed to blow that one advantage over the course of just a few months. Then I found out the horrible truth - the older you get, the harder it is. I had heard that, of course, but now I'm living it. It seems like everything got harder very suddenly! Anyway, I'm determined to lose this weight the same as you guys are, so good luck to us all. See you Monday,

Ruth
