weight loss check-in week of 9/8

Hi,
How did everyone do? Donna, did you get those weight loss vibes I sent you??

I had joined weight watchers 2 weeks ago and that lasted one week. I realized that the points system did not work for me and I prefer counting calories. Plus the whole meeting this is not for me.
I lost 2 lbs this week which puts me at 229. It is always so satisfying when I get to another 10 lb increment. I am so looking forward to seeing the 100's but I just keep telling myself to take it one day/week at a time and it will come. But the process is just so slowwwwwwwww......

I am fighting plantar facitis again so I backed off step this week but it is already starting to hurt a little less. I got my cathe's ab hits this week so I am excited about that :)

How did everyone else do??

Marci

There must be something in the air about plantar facitis this month. I have been suffering from it too. It feels better this week.

I lost .5 pound. Only 2.5 more pounds to go to be at my goal weight I set for myself in January of 2001! And, hopefully, I can lose it before my wedding in October!

I had a few bouts of pasta-itis last week, but it did not seem to effect my weight loss. It was TTOTM last week--that explains a lot.

Amynicole--good job on the two pounds!

Well, have a nice week.

Linda

Great job Marci and Linda! Any loss is wonderful news in my opinion. I lost one pound this week. Almost two which is exciting to see. Marci-I know it seems like a long process when you have a lot of weight to lose, I am in the same boat. Linda-how long has it taken you to lose your weight? How much have you lost? What has been your focus on your weight loss journey? Cardio mainly, weights mainly, or a nice combination of the two?

Marci- how is your little one sleeping? My baby is 8 weeks old and he is starting to sleep about 7 hours straight at night which is so wonderful. It is really helping with my energy during the day and being able to work out more consistently. My older one is pretty much adjusted to the new baby, are yours? Are you enjoying the days with your older ones in school? Keep up the good work! Heather

LAST EDITED ON Sep-09-02 AT 04:26PM (Est)[p]Hi all :)

Marci & Cruncholi: Big congrats on your losses, and Marci I feel you on the 10# increments! That is exactly how I looked at each hurdle on the way down. Now that things have slowed up, I take it in 5# increments! :)
Heather: You got your post in as I was posting so I had to edit back in to congratulate you on your loss too! :)

No loss to report, but I'm okay with it since it's been such an up and down thing with my eating the past few weeks. I feel like I've got a handle on it now, and I'm back to making good food choices and feeling better about my eating in general, so I look forward to reporting "SOME" sort of loss next week! :) So I guess I did get those "loss" vibes from you Marci, thanks! :)
Sorry about the "PF" but continue to do what you need to for it! If you have any kickboxing videos it's a good time to try them. Most are high intensity without being high impact, and even CardioKicks can be done "grounded." When my left foot acts up I usually pull out the low impact high/lo and kickboxing videos for a week or two, and it seems to give my foot enough time to recoup from "whatever" it is I do to it when it flares up. :)

See you all next week, keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

Donna

p.s. I'm whispering this so the "fates" don't hear me, but I'm off the ice cream, I'm just not craving it? Maybe I got my fill? So ssshhhhh, don't say anything aloud, just silently wish me luck that the ice cream thing has passed! :)

Hi Daisyheather,

I have lost a total of 25.5 pounds and it took me (I hope you are sitting down) 20 months. I have lost really slowly because I am not good at portion control or giving up my afternoon chocolate snacks. However, the contents of my diet are generally healthy. I prefer to eat fruits and veggies, whole wheats, and those healthy fats. With my busy schedule and living 35 minutes from a decent grocery store, I often run out of produce and end of not eating enough of those healthy foods. Instead I end up eating pasta/jarred sauce, or things that keep forever that I have on hand. I need to get on the frozen bandwagon--it is better than nothing!

My focus on losing weight has been on cardio and weights since I discovered Cathe in April of 2001. When I first started in January of 2001, I was just doing Tae Bo and that was not working too well for losing weight and toning up. I found that as soon as I added weights, the weight and body fat began coming off steadily (with a couple of loooooooong plateaus mixed in here and there). At first I did lighter weights with MIS and Body Max, and then I got into the heavier lifting approach with PS and S&H when that was released--both approaches worked wonders for shedding the weight. I like to mix up the two approaches now.

I am happy that your baby is sleeping for 7 hour stretches! That is great at such a young age.

How much weight are you trying to lose?

Cruncholi / Linda

Marci: Congrats on the 2 pounds. I understand too about getting into the lower numbers. 179 is sooooooooo much better than 180 (which is about where I am right now).

Linda: Congrats on the 0.5 pound. You are so close and I know you feel great!

Heather: Congrats to you too on your almost two pounds.

Donna: I'm so glad you are "under control" now. It's so terrible to feel like you cannot control your hunger.

I have no loss to report, unfortunately. I have done so well but alas, nothing. I'm not too upset and will continue to do well this week.

Sounds like everyone either lost or stayed the same. I am in the staying the same catagory.....in good company with Kelly. :)

We were away for 9 days and I only had an ice cream cone once!.....but it was simply the best ice cream http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/nichtani_1/icescream.gif[/img] I had had in a long time. A really wonderful treat! :9 Glad it isn't calling to you any more Donna. :)

It felt ok to have stayed the same...could have been a lot worse! I did keep up the journal and that really is working for me....even with the ice cream cone!

Congrats to you guys who are 'losers'....hope to be joining you soon!
