Weight loss check-in 2/17

Steppingup

Cathlete
Well, here we are again. How did everyone do this week? My week was a little off because of Valentine's Day. I fixed steak and lobster and homemade french (garlic) bread and pasta for my hubby. Complete with candles and mood music. That was fun!!!

Other than that my eating has been good. I would say a 4. I still have low energy and took an extra "rest" day this week. Still got 5 pretty good workouts in. Hopefully next week I will feel a little more energetic.

Well, now how did everyone else do?

Kelly

Hi Kelly,

sounds like a tasty dinner- making me hungry :)

I had a bad week last week- the flu and only got 2 workouts in. Feeling better today. On the bright side, all my pain and suffering with the flu better produce a weight loss this week! Can't wait to get back to Cathe this week. My two workouts last week were on the bike since I was a little dizzy from being sick and afraid I would lose my balance on the step.

Marci,

Sorry to hear you have been sick. That really makes you mad because it interrupts your working out, nevermind how absolutely horrible it makes you feel. Be careful with that dizziness! I lose my balance on the step without the excuse of sickness...LOL.
Glad you are feeling better!

Kelly

Thanks Kelly. Yes, I've also been known to trip on/over my step without any excuse also. I know I'm totally obsessed with excercise when the day my fever was 103 I'm still having to justify to myself not working out (I didn't that day) and felt guilty. I did force myself to rest though.

Week in review

Last week was mixed for me. I started off downhearted and disgusted with my weight. Then thanks to some encouragement from this check-in I felt better. I only did one workout, Firm Cardio and my eating improved to a 3.

Not a good week on paper, but mentally I prepared myself to take more control. Friday, I went to the health food & grocery stores and bought lots of fish, chicken, fruits, veggies and a couple of supplements. I started this morning at 5:30 a.m with Cathe's "Powermax" and the ab section of Karen Voight's Streamline Fitness. I am going to make more progress from now on.

Oh and Powermax kicked my butt, even on a 4" step. I made it to the last 5-7 minutes then had to ff to the cool down. One day I will sail thru this tape with the ladies in the video at their step height!!....well maybe just a 6";-)

RE: Week in review

Good for you on Power Max, Crystal! That's a great, challenging tape. I know that ab section from KV is TOUGH too! Wow... You've motivated me to get to the grocery store and stock up on the good stuff--I'm usually not too bad with that, but I really do need to eat more fish! It just makes the house smell! ;-)
Do you have lots of cook books? I get Cooking Light magazine. The recipes seem great to me, and its great to see the fat, fiber and other relevant nutrition facts at the bottom of each recipe. That really helps me.
Good luck this week--remember to take it a day at a time!

Hi ladies,
I just wanted to thank all of you that gave me support and words of encouragement during my recent marital troubles. My husband and I have decided to start trying to work things out. We may even go see a marriage counselor if we can't work things out by ourselves. Anyway, we have a rough year ahead of us, but hopefully things will work out. I am looking forward to starting back with the weight loss support group later this week.

Thanks again!
Lisa

GREAT Lisa!

Sooo glad to hear you are both working on it. Good Luck and know that we are here. We are glad you are back & posting again. Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

Thanks Wendy

Thanks for the tip. I think I may try a few cooking light recipes. I'm a pretty good cook but don't have a lot of practice making "lighter" versions of my favorite dishes.

LISA!!

I am so happy for you, I TRULY am! and we want you to know it is a huge encouragement for my husband and I too. We are currently riding the ups and downs of trying to reconcile. Sometimes we think "let's just forget it" but we keep trying. The biggest challenge for me is to resist thinking, speaking and reacting to the same old issues in the same old ways. Slowly but surely we are getting the hang of it. Old habits die hard...like overeating and under-exercising ;-)

I have faith that next year we will both celebrate anniversaries, renewed committments and WEIGHTLOSS :). Welcome back.

Lisa

Just want to join in and wish you the best with your husband. I really hope things work out for the both of you!
Take care!
Erica

RE: Lisa

That's great. Marriage can be so hard if everything is going right but add in those problems and it can be down right disheartening. I am very happy that "both" of you are going to work it out! It definitely takes two!

RE: Lisa

Lisa, I am so happy to hear from you and that you are going to try to work things out. God knows marriage is hard work, and I truly hope that you find happiness. I'm really happy that you are both going to work at it. We are here for you :)
