Weight, height and muscle

Hi, I am new at posting here but have read a ton. I am 5'3 and 123lbs. I do just about every Cathe video cardio, weights, abs and before kids I was about 116-118 but never worked out....do you think I can get back to 118 or could I possibly have put on 5lbs. of muscle...I ask cuz I am at a weight plateau. My diet is Ok and could be better...I am working on that part too and hope to see more definition in my upper arms....they are ok but lacking "good" defintion. Any suggestions about losing weight and gaining definition preferrably in upper arms? Thanks so much.:)

Madison,

From what you said, your height and weight seem normal. It could be that the 5 lb difference in weight is muscle; muscle weighs more than fat. A clean diet seems to be the concensus around here when you have reached a plateau. HTH

I would not try to lose any weight. Yours sounds just fine to me. I'm 5'4" (or thereabouts) and weigh 127. Nobody considers me fat. I also do all Cathe's workouts and thoroughly love weight lifting.

I'm about 5 foot 3 or so and I weigh almost 130 pounds and I am not fat. It's muscle and I'm sure yours is too!:+

I am currently 5 pounds heavier than I was before kids, but my clothes fits just as well, if not better. I incorporated a lot more weights into my workout routine post children and don't know if that's exactly why, but I have learned to not rely so much on what the scale says. Instead I try to take everything into consideration - clothes, muscle tone, workout regime, etc..

I managed to gain about 8 lbs of muscle once I seriously got into Cathes weight work.

For years I was 5'7" and 110 lbs. I am now 118 lbs and wear the same size I always did. Muscle weight is a good thing! :)

Geez, I wish I weighed 118 too!!! I'm 5'8" and am a good 30 lbs more than that! I'm feeling the sudden need to do some cardio here in the office! ;)
