Weight gain

Hi Everyone,
A few months ago I gained about 8 pounds. My clothes still fit and aren't extra tight anywhere so it was a bit odd. I changed my birth control (doctor's recommendation) and have gone down about two pounds. I eat pretty clean but haven't changed my eating habits where I could justify gaining. Then I remembered switching to a new protein powder. Could that possibly do it? Any other ideas? Right now I'm still staying the same but frustrated. I still follow Cathe rotations, am going to work in more cardio but felt like I was on a good path 8 pounds ago and then suddenly I'm thrown off.
Thanks for any ideas!

Definitely read the label on your protein powder. Maybe there's more sugar carbs or calories than your previous brand. Or maybe you are retaining water for some reason? Is there more sodium in the protein? Just a few things that may contribute to weight gain.

Yes, a different protein powder could do it. I can have vegetarian based protein powders ok, I can even eat dairy, but if I have a dairy based protein powder I tend to gain. I have no idea why.
