weight fluctuation

Hi, everyone
For about 6 months, I did not get on scale to check my weight and I started getting on it again because my clothes were getting tighter on me.
But I'm so puzzled at my weight fluctuation.
I was 135 one day, 133.5 the next day and 136.25 the following day.
Is it water content that makes this crazy difference daily?
I have a scale that you see at doctor's office so it's very accurate, I think.
I've been working out average 4-5 times a week for one hour mix of cardio and weights. KPC, MIC, IMAX 1,2,3 and CTX series, SH, ME, PUB/PLB, running and elliptical machine are in my workout rotation.
This past week I just increased strength training to shock my metabolism.
Can anyone help me out on this issue?
Thank you

Christie

I think this is a good reason not to pay attention to the scale too much! It can vary greatly depending on the time of day you weigh yourself, what you ate teh day before, salt and water intake, and so on.

Those fluctuations are very minor. They're mostly just a result of how much salt you eat each day. It's pretty meaningless. I recently went for my annual physical exam, and in spite of all of the fluctuations I had seen on the gym scale over the year (mostly increases), the doctor told me my weight was just a few pounds less than last year. All that worrying for nothing. All the ups and downs meant nothing. I highly recommend just weighing yourself annually and forgetting about the scale the rest of the year.

Nancy, what happened? You look like a moose! Whaddya mean you lost weight? (Running away fast here)}( :p

Please do not be concerned over day to day weight fluctuations. It would be practically impossible to gain 3lbs of fat or more in one day. Water weight is a huge factor and if you have not had regular bowel movements in a few days then that can severely affect the number on the scale.

Throw the scale out the window! Go by how the clothes fit. That is the most significant way of figuring it out.
