Weekly Check-in 8/4/02

Cathlete
I guess I'll start this thread this week, rather than lurking and hoping someone else will. I also have to get going--I'm volunteering at the Ponderosa Pine Festival. If you're in Colorado, come on by the Lookout Mountain Nature Center today! It's really fun, albeit tree parties are kind of quiet.

My week was dismal, workout wise. It was the last week of camp, and all the packing and psycho parents caused a lot of stress and lack of sleep.

Sunday: swim :40
Monday: Pilates studio class
Tuesday: off
Wednesday: spinning class 1:00
Thursday: off
Friday: Heavy Box Carrying Upper Body Split
Saturday: Car Washing Power Workout

I will, I will, I will find time to swim today. I will, I will, I will be prepared for that triathlon.

Hi Gretchen..and future check-iners!

I did something to my knee, so once again I didn't get as much in as I would have liked.

Sun. 3 mile run

Mon. Sport Cycle

Tue. Power Hour

Wed. rest

Thu. IMax...not as deadly as usual!

Fri. rest

Sat. S&H abbreviated upper body split and abs

Andrea

I don't do this much, so I'll jump in.

Sunday: Legs on the Jake machine with leg extensions and walking lunges thrown in

Monday: Step Works. MY High Intensity blast for the week.

Tues. Upper body workout with my Gary Player Golf Gym, Xertube and free weights, abs. Taught a class with floor aerobics in the PM. (Kickbox, HiLo, and Walk Aerobics)

Wed. Rest

Thur. Jake Leg workout, same as Sunday

Friday: Taste of Dance class at the Y, which is really HiLo, then walked the indoor track for 10 minutes. Total cardio was 40 minutes.

Saturday: Taught floor aerobics class and did upper body work. Tried the Ab move on referred to on the cover of the new Shape magazine. Good one!

One of my Saturday students said, "I want to look like YOU!" What a trip!

Looks like you're into functional fitness Gretchen! Glad to read that there are still some trees left in Colorado. Seems like the state has been on fire for months.

My week - I succombed to all the raves about Powerstrike:

Mon: S&H L&S; Pilates mat class; Powerstrike I (planned a ride but new tape was irresistable)
Tue: Run 75 min
Wed: Cycle 24 miles (hillwork); S&H C&B
Thu: Trot w/ hounds 35 min; Tamilee floor stretch; Fitness ball (abs & stretch)
Fri: Cycle 25 miles (flat); S&H T & B;
Sat: Hike w/ DH - 15 miles w/ 4500' elevation gain (the lower elevation did the trick for my husband - much happier hiker)
Sun: rest, chores & Millenium Stretch

Looks like DH is lactose intolerant. His Dr. is running some tests but he's eliminated dairy & citrus to start. He's gone from irritable bowel syndrome (ibs) to happy bowels in just a few days. Have to figure out how intolerant he is.

Have a great week everyone!
Debra

Hi everyone!
Gretchen--tell me about psycho parents! I'm a preschool teacher, and I have had my share of psychos! I love most of them, though!

Andrea--sorry about your knee, but your week looked pretty darn great to me :)

Honeybunch--wow! An "I want to look like you" comment says it all!

Here's my week:

Monday: S&H tris and bis
PS floor legs

Tuesday: rest

Wednesday: 1 set S&H chest press, wasn't into it, so--
MIS chest
MIS back + lat raises
GHAS shoulders
9702 step
Tamilee floor stretch

Thursday: rest

Friday: THC wu
Still Jumpin' II
TCS bonus cardio
TCS abs

Saturday: rest

Sunday: MIS legs
PS back, shoulders and tris
PH chest, bis, abs and stretch
Stepping Zone

I'm kind of in a funk. I set up some specific goals for myself (what I want for each muscle group--build mass and strength in triceps, maintain bicep size and strength, increase # of toe pushups, etc.) and hope to really stick to a rotation for the next 4 weeks. I keep mixing things up, which is fine, but I want to try to achieve some specifics...
Have a good week, everyone!
Wendy
