Looks I held the rear again last night so read up if you haven't already. :)

Today will be an active rest day....walking and some kind of stretching/yoga.

Hump day it is...and it was tough starting that climb this morning :eek: But I did manage to find my way out to the garage and do PUB. No cardio as of yet, and I think it'll be limited to walking today, but we'll see.

Wendy: I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around going through the Burn phase again, probably because it's not new. I may just jump right into the Push phase with you in September, or do two weeks of Burn and then move on. Yeah...that might be the ticket! (Can you tell I just thought of that now :p) I will likely add cardio to each phase this time. Yes, I do have P90X, and I just agreed to lend it to DSO :D I hope he follows through with it. Nothing wrong with the A/C, somebody just forgot to turn it on! How anyone could let that one slip by is beyond me, but whatever :eek: How far did you make it into your book last night?

Hi ladies,

I've been up for a while now and should really be starting my w/o. Once DS goes back to school I'll need to be getting up much earlier than I have this summer.

I was planning on doing an UB w/o, but HST is sounding like fun this morning. Who knows...I'll decide once I get downstairs. I'm enjoying the variation of the kb's but sometimes a standard weight w/o is needed. Then for some reason Wendy's ADD rubbed off and a circuit is sounding good. I really need a rotation to follow, especially if I'm looking for particular results.

I still have my eye on Insanity.....I'm trying to bring my oldest DS home for a visit. I think it would be good for his mental health to come home and visit his friends before they all head back to school. I can't pay for everything right now so I have to budget my spending. That's not fun at all!!

Wendy-I don't want to say kb's don't give the results I'm looking for, more that I'm not sure how to best use them effectively in a rotation. I love the way my back and hamstrings feel when using KB's . I also notice a nice tightness in the obliques which is always a good thing. Any idea when you'll be springing for the GWF? Is Sal still out of work for a bit? If so, I hope he's called back soon.

Jen-Can you wear your HR monitor with your GWF? Not sure if I already asked that or not. I always wear my HR monitor for cardio and would like to see how the 2 compare regarding calories burned etc. Nice job on PUB this morning! I also have CLX but doing the same workouts for an entire month got old for me. I never felt like my legs were worked enough in that series.

Diana: I hear you on the budgeting! Talk about a buzz kill :p No fun at all is right! I actually don't mind doing the same workout for a while so I liked CLX and really didn't get bored. I just don't really want to do an entire phase over again. Yes, you can definitely wear your HRM with the GWF, and I've read about a lot of people doing that. So far, the consensus is that the HRM seems to overestimate a bit ont he cardio activities, and especially so for weight workouts. I'd be interested to hear what you find out. So did you go for HST? It has been a million years since I've done that one! You're reminding me of all these good workouts I have tucked away somewhere and should pull out again. Keep it up and it'll save my credit card some use :p (Or not.)
 
Morning ladies !

I almost panicked here when I didn't see "DAMAGE CONTROL" and finally found the "HUMP DAY" part. :eek:

Quickie for me - gotta get to work for a few and then head on to another site for the AM. May not get back here until tonight.

Last night was a bust as far as my workout goes. Worked a bit late, shopped at Wally World & Costco and it was 7:30 before I got the groceries put away ! Then I was starved so had a few pretzels with PB, changed into my workout clothes and had dinner ready by 8:20 (leftover proteins with homegrown corn and some broccoli. So figuered I could bang out Leaner legs but wanted a half hour rest first and then fell asleep ! :rolleyes:

Wendy - I had though about Insanity cuz I'd love some tough cardio, but think I'd rather run right now and hopefully STS Cardio will be out in a while. We will see how it goes. No GWF for you yet, huh? :rolleyes:

Jen - LOL I remember my permed hair (it was down to my behind), but I never had really big hair as I was more of the tom boy and didn't style mine. Dinner sounds like it was yummy - great job on the steps yesterday ! I did hit 10K on Sunday walking around the festival ! <pats self on back>.:p

Diana - LOL you caved girl ! I personally can't wait but who did you order from? I was cheap choosing free shipping from Amazon so think mine may come after yours ! :confused: I will be doubling up with GWF and HRM during exercise too for future reference - I may not want to wear GWF all the time and HRM may be a good sub during workouts once I figure my typical days cal burn from just sitting at work ! :D

HEY LAURA ! ! ! DH did a great job with the late anniv gifts. ROFLMAO at the Coors Light ! You are lucky girl ! Glad you enjoyed your dinner with guests too !

OK .. I am gonna be the enabler this time .. a friend of mine just told BB had some new w/o out .. RevAbs .. OMG .. I checked it out (they have a facebook page) .. it is RIGHT up our ally .... it looks better than Insanity .. some of the Insanity stuff looks TERRIBLE for the knees .. but this one looks awesome . . and it is not just abs .. lots of HIT ... mixed with kickboxing .. mixed w/plyo .. mixed w/CORE TORTURE .. OMG .. me thinks I am gonna have to give into this one!! :D:eek:

Wendy .. I too was wondering where the Damage Controllers were .. enjoy your active rest day today...

Jen...we did get the rain yesterday .. looks like we are about to get some more .. we need it bad .. we have had to water our grass every day just to keep it alive .. looks like we are in for it all week this week ... just hope it clears by the weekend ..

DI ... check out the RevAbs b-4 you decide on Insanity ... it looks better .. I know this is not helping the pocket book .. payback is H## for all you enablers .. LOL!!!! :p

Ok . today I am in another office in another town .. brought my stuff and intend on doing P90X Plyo .. at lunch ... this office is a one man office and I have the back .. once all locked in I can bang out my w/o .. SIL is teaching tonight for me ... so I am gonna go on home and be w/DH .. he has been so good .. bless his heart!! OK .. gotta jet .. will BBL to see what everyone is up to :D
 
Jacque: Sadly, Aqua Net was my friend :( The bigger, the better :D Unfortunately, my generation is probably largely responsible for the hole in the ozone layer. No worries on getting a little extra rest last night. Your night sounds like one in my near future ;) I'm draggin' butt today.

Laura: You evil woman, you! I haven't been the slightest bit interested in Insanity and I was sooooo happy about that. Now you're talking about this RevAbs and YOU ARE KILLING ME :p I won't even pretend like I'm not gonna look. So cool that you can workout right at work during your lunch hour! How sweet would that be to be able to do that every day? Enjoy your evening with DH.
 
DOH! I can't believe I forgot to put "damage control" in the thread title this morning! I obviously hadn't had enough coffee yet! :p

Well my active rest day is quickly turning into a NON-active rest day. OOPS! Oh well. Whatever. :rolleyes: I'm not worried. :)

I just applied for about 8 jobs between yesterday and today. :eek: Wish me luck that I get SOME kind of response from maybe half of them and an interview from one or two would be nice too! It'll give me something to hope for! LOL *fingers crossed!!!*

I was over in the O/D and stumbled upon the link for the insanity infomercial. I have to admit it...It looks good! I really can't wait to get that disc now! I hope I don't end up wanting the whole set after all! :eek::eek::eek:

Jen:: I was checking out Foxwoods and it will probably take me 3 to 3.5 hours to get up there. What time will you want to meet up that saturday? I am not against leaving early. I'm up anyway and as far as I am concerned, the earlier the better! *where's the devil smiley when you need it!?* :D Hey, Aquanet was my friend too, btw! LOL I had a friend who literally styled her hair like a lion's mane in highschool! Even back then I thought it was horrible! :eek: If you want to wait and start CLX with Push that's fine. I'm just lookin' for the company/motivation! :D At some point in the future I am going to start pushing for a group P90X rotation to get started. I want to do it again but don't have the motivation to get started on my own! LOL Oh and I made it farther then I thought last night with my reading. I read atleast several pages before passing out. It was a good night! :p

Laura:: Shush with your RevAbs idea! I don't even have a GWF yet! I can't keep up!!!! :eek::eek::eek: LOL

Jacque:: I have to save for the GWF with DH being out of work. Going to the casinos in CT with Jen in a couple of weeks doesn't help but I am NOT cancelling that trip. I am sooo excited for it! :D That being said, the GWF will have to wait...probably about another 2 paychecks (1 month) beyond the CT trip. It's okay though. I am enjoying be the "strong one" in the crowd for once. :p

Hey Girlies,

I had to cut my w/o a little short today....spent too much time on the computer. I ended hitting ff through the leg sections of the last 2 circuits. My leg work was done on Monday and step up were included that day. No harm done IMO.

All this talk about the scale made me brave mine this morning, prior to my w/o. I'm happy to report that I am down 4.5lbs since following the NC eating program. I been following her program for about 3-4 weeks. I know I'm a slow loser but I'm happy to see it going down.

Jacque- I also ordered from Amazon..free shipping, but my expected ship dat is Aug 3rd. I don't normally wear my hr monitor for lifting since the focus is on muscle building not getting the hr up. It is my understanding they also tell you to take off the GWF for certain activities and simply add info from your hr monitor to your total cals burned. I read in one of the GWF review forums.

Laura-I checked out the REV Abs, it looks amazing...I couldn't find the release date anywhere. Any idea when it will be available???? I already paid for shock cardio....so I may have to just stick with it whenever it is released. Too many workouts to choose from.... Have fun with P90X plyo!!

Jen-We have a couple of w/o rooms in my building too. They are very small, one has an elliptical, a treadmill and a bike. The other room has a bowflex, a weight bench and some hand weights. Two of our other buildings have full gyms, an aerobic room as well as a separate weight room. It is nice, but the rec ctr is a block away and the company pays for it!

Diana:: I'm sorry I missed you in my last round of personals. I don't know how I did that! Anyway, as I had explained to Jacque above, the GWF purchase will likely need to wait until September for me I'm thinking. Between DH being out of work and me hitting the casinos with Jen in a couple of weeks, I can't (in good conscience) shell out $200+ for the GWF right now. Too bad I have a conscience! :p Wow, sounds like your job really "pushes" the healthy lifestyle. How nice. Congrats on the weight loss! That is fabulous!!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!:D As for KBs, ya gotta figure out what works for you. I used only kbs for a month or two after first purchasing them and I loved it but it's not for everyone! You might better enjoy using them to just mix things up. Do mostly traditional weight work and cardio but then add in a KB work out once a week to change it up. Treat it like a circuit work out when you are creating your rotation. Just some food for thought!

Wendy-no worries. We were posting at the same time.;) Good luck on your job search. Once Joey starts school it will be much easier. I actually want to work part time but am not sure I could afford the school loan I took out for my son. I agreed to pay on it while he is in school but after that, I'm passing that torch to him. I'm almost regretting taking it out, it basically like having a huge car payment, but no new car to show for it.

I'm getting ready to head home. Have to be at work early tomorrow so no time to workout. Will definitely have to make time for the gym.

Laura - so is RevAbs cheaper and less than $25 shipping? Will have to check that one out ! :p Yeppers I missed my workout but scale is doing OK so I'm good except the leggies need a good workout. Will hit Leaner Legs as soon as I catch up here ! Hope you got your lunchtime workout in and had fun with DH ! :rolleyes:

Jen - LOL about Aqua Net - that's what the kids in the theater plays used ! We added loads to the ozone in the 90's & first few years of the new century. Still dragging after work? Or did you wake up once the boredom was ditched? :p

Wendy - LOL about starting the thread ! Oh well, I almost started a new one but checked out 3 times and found it. Please drink your coffee tomorrow, K? :eek: WOW - hopefully out of 8 you'll get some bites. I am hearing things are slowing turning a corner in the economic world, hopefully it will help. I know about the 'waiting' as I have been paying for hockey tix on a month basis but somehow ended up ahead so had to take care of that quickly, ya know?:p Besides I haven't spent much on exercise lately - it is my only expenditure. DH plays hockey @ $20 per week and buys $100 - $150 in hotwheels each month. Now that my kids are gone we should be pretty even in the spending arena, right? My story and I'm sticking to it ! :D

Diana - OMG what a great loss girl ! ! ! Woo Hoo for you ! ! ! Keep in mind that you took a vacation in between that time . . . That is so super great ! ^ 5's and Contrats !

You ordered from Amazon too? My order shows it should ship tomorrow so will probably know soon. But I would doubt it would make it here by Aug 3rd? :confused: Oh well, I can wait . . . we need to give Wendy a little time to be the 'good girl' before we start posting our great results along with Jen ! ;) Seems it is biking types of exercises where movement is not great but you are actually working a bit harder? But does that make sense of your HR and body temp are elevated? Hmmmm . . . ITA with Wendy on KB's being circuit type workouts after I have done a few. Not really muscle building but I sure get out of breath doing them. Never got sore myself but then I only used 15lbs.

K girlies off to do my workout tonight ! Yes I will do it . . . ;) Hoping I have some energy for a little cardio too. Bummed I missed my run yesterday - should be able to do it tomorrow.

Lori - in case you end up ready the correct thread for today (JK girl ! ;)), I'm LOL at Shamu. My DGS1 carries his Sharks jersey around with him and needs it to go to sleep. I looked for a Sharkie (in our hockey team colors) but they didn't have any by the time I was hunting for one. A stuffed animal is a little better than a hockey jersey. We are already cracking jokes about him taking his size 3T jersey to kindergarten with him as a blankie ! :p

Hope you get to go for the race on Sun - good job keeping up with your workouts. Crossing fingers for your "Me" time too !

Waiting for dinner here . . . asked DH at 7 to start the fire, he got around to it at 8. So me, being the smart one these days, ate some carrots and pork tenderloin to hold me over until about 9:30 which is when we will probably sit down to eat dinner. Oh well, missed lunchtime so ended up eating 2 wasa crackers with PB on them for lunch at 2 PM. I'm behind in the food dept. today anyway.

And . . . for you chocolate lovers . . . (usually not me very often but think the hormones are going wild lately) . . . I just made some FF chocolate pudding with FF milk and 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder. Should be about 210 cals with 1 gm fat, 15 gms protein and 20 gms carbs for 1 cup of pudding. YUMMY ! Can't wait to try some. :D
