Way out there--Mother and Son having to share Harry Potter books.

This has nothing to do with anything. But the reason I'm on the computer is first, to pay the water bill; and 2nd, because my son is hogging Harry Potter #4. We're trying to re-read the series before the new book comes out, but we keep ending up in the same book (because he has more time to read than I do). Unfortunately, #4 is much bigger than the previous 3, and all the library copies are on hold (I just checked). UGH! I'm glad he's a great reader, but the first time I read them I didn't have to share.:+

I think it's time for him to practice his piano.}( Unfortunately, it's also time for me to make dinner--and I never did clean the bathroom or finish the wash. Oh well.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!

We have the same problem every time one of the new books come out. Three of my kids read the books and I don't want to buy 3 copies. I used to read them aloud each night so that we could all enjoy the book together at the same time, but they don't want to do that anymore.

That's a really good idea, Timber99!

I'm about to go preorder #6. I can't wait to dive into that one. I love how each book is so consuming, all my troubles disappear when that book opens. (Okay, at least I am interested enough in the book to ignore all the troubles!)

Hmm. I wish there was something we could do! Does your son have a friend who also read them, you could borrow.

Wait. It's Saturday noon now, you've probably already had dinner so this doesn't matter. I just love the Harry Potter bandwagon! :)

RE: Way out there--Mother and Son having to share Harry...

I share the book with my BF, who reads slowly, paying attention to every detail. Me, I practically skim through the book the first time, trying to find out what happens. I hate suspense! Then I'll go back and read the whole thing again. :) Anhow, generally the BF gets the book first, due to our work schedules. We pre-ordered it on Amazon.

I just finished reading the whole series again, too, in preparation for HBP. My husband and I ordered two on Amazon. I know what I am doing next Saturday afternoon. I threatened to go buy one at Midnight on Saturday, eventhough I had already pre-ordered, but that isn't very thrifty is it?
