Karen Voight discussed the "hot" weightlifting technique "super slow" in her monthly LA Times column. Here's a link: http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-000063846aug06.column
She says to use a 14 second count - 10 up & 4 down. Doesn't Slow & Heavy use a longer down count? (I'm waiting for the DVD.)
Celebrity trainers love to use super slow to get results fast but say their clients hate it & won't stick with it for long. Voight recommends alternating super slow with traditional tempo lifting every 6 weeks to keep motivated. I've read elsewhere that it was tough to test super slow results because researchers couldn't keep enough subjects using it. They needed more Trevors!
This really must be the hot trend because I just read another fluffy article on it in a local magazine.
