Viewpoint: What is your opinion of Gin Miller's Simply Interval?

Personally, I bought it just after I got my New Series and I thought it might compliment them. Have you done yet? After preview, it reminded of Step Reebok Intense Moves (which is a good tape and difficult).

Thanks for your valuable insight in advance.

I have Gin Millers "Extreme Step". "Intense Moves" and the original step video( I forgot the name). I really love "Intense Moves" but these new videos she comes out with ......... I don't feel like ordering afer previewing the clips.

Why does she choose to do the video herself or with one other person? I'm not sure why but I don't like that. Maybe I should care more about the quality of the workout itself but I kind of got so spoiled with eveything that Cathe offers, that I expect other instructors to do that as well.
I really like Gin Miller's Intense Moves" tho. I like how she did the "blasts" with the music pumping louder and that time bar on the bottom of the screan that shows you how much longer you have to suffer. I do that one often.

I know I didn't anser your question but I would also like to hear what others have to say.

I didn't buy ``Simply Interval'' because I bought ``Simply Step'' and immediately had to get rid of it.

I was so excited for this series, but what is up with the constant fade-in-fade-out and other camera tricks? I got so nauseated I almost threw up.

It's doubly annoying because I loved the actual workout and Gin's personality, which was as friendly and natural as always.

Good morning,

I own Simply Interval, and I think it's a challenging workout. My favorite Gin Miller workout is definitely Intense Moves. I find it amazing that Gin still has people declaring that Intense Moves is her best video, and it's over 10 years old - now that's what I call successfully making a "classic"!

As for Simply Interval, I actually like the workout. Gin throws in some pretty intense intervals, and it definitely gets the job done in less than 45 minutes. I also miss the traditional type of set akin to a real class, but I also appreciate that Gin tries to change things up a bit. She is very friendly in this video, and she is also friendly and entertaining (so much so that it didn't bother me that it was just her and Mandy in the video). Gin is certainly an icon in the business, and yes, she tries things that don't always work. However, I think that Simply Interval is a great workout, and it will compliment Cathe's new series quite well. I highly recommend it. I have other DVDs from the Simply Series, but this one is my hands-down favorite. I did not like Simply Circuit, did not purchase Simply Step, and have only previewed Simply Strong and Simply Endurance - but they both look fun!

Anyway, that's just my two cents...rock on!

Hello FitGirl-ATX.
Yes, I actually own most of the Simply Series (step, circuit, and strong). Circuit is not her best, but Strong and Step are good.
My all time favourite Gin Miller is Reebok AeroStep, which she doesn't even sell, I guess it must be purchased through Reebok.
It's the only Video I did cold the first time and I paid for it big.
Bella Strength is good and it works well with Muscle Max.
And, I agree with you that Simply Interval will work good with Cathe's new series and so will Intense Moves. Major DOMS for Days.
When I see Mandy, I think it's her son's girlfriend. Her husband, Max, is one of the cameraman for Interval.

Your two cents was worth a dollar!!

I've just ordered Simply Interval and I have all the other Simply series, which I like but do not love. I do love Gin, though, and would buy anything she makes.

But does that intensity chart, with related dialogue, bug anyone else? They could show it at the beginning of the workout, maybe, and say "be sure you're working out between 5 and 8" or whatever, but it seems like in Gin's videos they show it maybe 3 or 4 times throughout the workout, and there's always that dialogue "If you're working moderately hard you'll be between 4 and 6, etc....." It makes me grit my teeth if it comes on more than once! Why does she do that???

>Why does she choose to do the video herself or with one other
>person?

I'm sure it's both budget and availability: she now films her workouts in her house, I believe.
