My family and I will be doing a coast-to-coast move this summer. I will be without my equipment (step, barbell, etc.) for up to three months, due to the fact that we will be living in temporary housing while looking for a home. I will have access to VCRs however. I do like to run, so that's the aerobics taken care of, but I don't want to lose all that I've gained since I've been using Cathe's strength videos. Does anyone know of a good, tough, no equipment necessary strength training video? What about Pilates?

Hi Michelle!

Do a search back thru this forum(Discussion) and you should find some great suggestions from HoneyBunch, DebbieD and others on planning a workout with exertubes, dynabands and such. They take up no space at all hardly. Also, Cathe's tapes can be done without weights. I just picked up two of Tamilee's new tapes~"I Want Those Buns" & "I Want Those Abs". Very challenging & no equipment needed. (They are available at Border's for around $9.00 each) Good Luck with the move. Let me know if you have trouble finding the posts.

I posted a similar suggestion to another Cathe forum poster who was going to be travelling out of the country for awhile:

You may not need to go without your weighted workout; there is a product called "Aquabells" that are water-fillable dumbbells; you pack them unfilled, fill them up with water when you get to your destination, and empty them out again whenever you need to. They are shaped like and function like dumbbells, and I believe you can fill them to between 5 lbs. - 15 lbs. per dumbbell.

I learned of this product through the Northwest Airlines Skymall catalog (during a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggggggg flight this past January); the website address is "www.skymall.com". I know Aquabells are also sold directly by its own company, but I don't know the company name or website address.

Have fun!

Annette

(p.s. and no, I'm not a Northwest Airlines, Skymall or Aquabells pitchman!) :)

RE: Hi Michelle!

Hi DebbieH,
Did you find Tamilee's "I want those Buns" to be challenging even for us Cathe fans? I have always liked Tamilee's videos. I bought her new stretching video (Stretch for Flexibility & Relaxation) a couple of weeks ago and liked it quite well. I almost bought the "bun" video also, but wondered if it would be too easy after being used to Cathe's PS series and CTX strength.
Did you find the bun video to be a very good workout? Thanks!

Lisa

Hi Lisa!

I really do find the video to be very challenging! It is very different from a Cathe-style tape. For instance, Tamilee will have you do 8 single lunges, then pulse down 3 & up 8X & then you will lunge down and lift your knee in an isolation hold. It is just very different. The tapes aren't as FUN as Cathe tapes, but I also like Tamilee. She is her normal calm, laid back self as she was in the Buns of Steel tapes. I ran downstairs to do the tape before posting this because I really couldn't remember how challenging it was because I had only done it once. Let's just say, the legs & rear are screaming now. I think you will be please to add it into your rotation of Cathe's. I hope I don't lead you astray, but after buying many videos I have been disappointed in, this is not one of those! Let me know if you get it.
