Vibram Five Fingers

Has anyone tried these shoes? I read about them on another forum and decided to buy them for when I do kettlebell training. They look goofy as all get out but I like the way they feel.

I wore them today to do Low Max and I had no problems whatsoever. My foot gripped the step perfectly and I didn't have the usual toe cramping.

I hope I am not being an enabler :).

Nope, no enabling.....

No enabling here, I would NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE wear a pair of these!!!!! Glad to hear you are comfortable though...

Thanks for the review, Farmer! I know these are popular with a number of folks on the CrossFit boards.

I'm hoping to get a pair once I have a little more discretionary cash. I've been doing a lot of my kettlebell work and oly lifting shoeless, and these would make me feel less sheepish about going stocking-footed in the gym. ;)

Did they run true to size for you?

I would wear them at home, but I can't imagine wearing them in public!
I'd feel like Bigfoot!

(Are there non-leather models available? I couldn't tell from the website info.)

I have the black neoprene KSO's. There isn't any leather on them. They make my feet look like gorilla feet but I don't care. The only place I would wear these would be Whole Foods because you can get away with not being fashionable there.

As far as them running true to size, I would try them on first. I originally bought size 40 but my big toe was bumping up against the edge. The 41's don't fit exactly perfect but they work for me.

Yeah, but you still have to get there somehow!;)

Did you order yours through that site?
Anyone know if Zappos or one of those other 'free shipping both ways" online shoe stores has them (I have to go and do something else now, and don't have time to check).

I have two friend who have these shoes (both men). They do martial arts and jogging in them and very much like them. Runner's World Magazine did a review of them for running a few months ago and said they were good for short distances (less than 6 miles).

I purchased them from a local running store. I think they sell them at REI.

I am highly germophobic so I would have to buy a special outdoor pair for Whole Foods. We have a no shoes policy in the house.
