vertigo part 2

Just thought I'd give you ladies an update on my condition. After my vertigo seemed to ease earlier this week, I made the assumption it would just pass and I could go on with my life. WRONG! I ended up in the hospital Wed night after spending possibly THE worst day of my life clutching the bed in terror as the entire world spun around endlessly. The docs gave me anti-nausea meds and valium and did a battery of tests but could find no source problem. I am still in bed and waiting to hear back from my regular doctor.

I will say that this really sucks and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Ok, maybe I would. }(

Send me some good vibes, please!!

Ickily yours,
Marie

Marie!! I'm really starting to worry about you. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Please keep us posted. Rest assured I'm sending plenty of good vibes and prayers your way.

Hi Marie. I feel you pain. I have been suffering with this for almost 2 years now. I do not have Meniere's disease but a similar one called vestibular hydrops. Basically, it's loss of balance function in one ear (or 2) due to the fluid uptake mechanism not functioning properly. The balance system is amazing! My problem started after the birth of my 4th child. I was sick with mastitis and a terrible sinus infection. My vertigo kicked in after I was on the mend. It took me 2 neurologists, a neurotolgist, 3 ENTs and my primary physician to figure it out. Please have your Dr. refer you to an ear specialist if possible. Not just an ENT but an ENT who specializes in balance/vertigo/dizziness. I hope your problem is something that is easily solved! Best wishes!

Michelle
