Have been having dizzy spells for the last two days and went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with vertigo. Not liking it one bit mainly because I can't work out!! Hope the medication kicks in soon!

I have spent almost the entire year battling this problem ended up at a specialist for it there are rocks in your inner ear that get into the cannals and cause the fluid to get off balance there really isn't a whole lot you can do but just wear it out, there is also some manuvers called Eply Manuvers that you might research.

POOR YOU! My doc taught me to do the Eply maneuvers at the very first sign of vertigo. It is designed to hurry the calcium deposits through the inner ear to reduce the severity of the episode. It works for me. Hope it helps you too.

Hi,

My DH had it so bad he had to have surgery. It worked, but he now is totally deaf in one ear. He was about 85% deaf in that ear to begin with, and he said the trade off was worth it!

I suffer from dizziness as well and it is super frustrating. When it is bad I feel like my head is floating in space and I get a disoriented feeling when I am in closed spaces like shopping aisles. It is mentally draining. For me it stems from TMJ Disorder -- I have a displaced disc that presses on my inner ear. Luckily the disc will pop back into place once or twice a week for a few hours relieving the pressure. I definitely feel more dizzy if I have any sinus congestion, if I am fatigued, and also in cold weather.

I hope it is just a sinus issue for you and that you feel better soon!

If it continues, I'd find a physical therapist who specializes in vestibular rehab. If it's true vertigo, then the room will be spinning. The Epley manuver works for most people with BPPV because most of the time the "rocks" are in the anterior or posterior canals. However, they are sometimes stuck to the utricle or in the horizontal canal which require different treatments. And sometimes the medication they give for vertigo actually has "dizzizness" as a side effect. I hope you get some relief soon!
