Upper lip hair and pimples

I have quite a bit of hair on my upper lip. It is very light but alot of it. I get these pimples every once in awhile just above the lip line (not fever blisters)and it seems like it's the same place everytime. These are actually on my skin rather than on my lips. It is very hard to get rid of them and sometimes there is a little red mark left - like it's not really gone. I'm just wondering if they are caused by maybe an ingrown hair (like from scrubbing my face with a washcloth). So my question is, would getting my upper lip waxed help this? I've been really thinking about doing this lately but I'm nervous about the results. I have very fair skin and sensitive skin and I don't want to have a rash or some kind of bad result. Any advice?

You may get red .Like a good bandaid rip.
Make sure they use benzocal on your lip after you are waxed. It helps soothe and close the poores. It is not that bad.
Just do it..

Hair in the wrong places-- x( x( x( !!! Ergh. Drives me nuts.

I've gotten those pimples, too. Haven't had one in a while, but that's not to say it'll never happen again.

I've been waxing my upper lip for several months. I use Sally Hansen's wax strips. The first couple of times I waxed, I broke out with little zits the next day. I used a peel-off mask on my face right away, and that seemed to help. The box says that with repeated waxing (not all at once, just once the hairs grow back) the hairs will grow back more thinly. This seems to be true. The hair that grows back doesn't piss me off as much (which means it's thinner and lighter) and it seems to be easier to wax each time. It's also less painful to wax each time.

I don't know if you'll get a rash or some kind of bad result. My skin isn't very fair like yours.

Edited to add: My skin's always a touch irritated the next day or so.

Good luck!

Hot wax opens your pores.Like a hot wash cloth. MAke sense. It cleans them out. When you get waxed , you will loose a thin layer of skin... Benzocal is a calamine type lotion for waxing. It closes the poores and soothes them is why i say to use it or ask for it..
Hope this helps..
Especially if you have sensitive skin.

Hello Kim,

You could also consider laser hair removal or electrolysis, which will remove the hairs permanently. I think both of these procedures are suitable for around the lip line.

It's well worth the investment as the skin is left quite smooth whereas continuous waxing could leave open pores and cause in-grown hairs.
