Update on Kuzco

We had to put Kuzco down this morning. They tried to flush his system, but the kidneys had shut completely down. Poor little guy was all swollen from the fluids when we went to say goodbye. He didn't even look like my beautiful little lover anymore.

It was quick and peaceful. We all said our goodbyes, then Teri and her father went to the waiting room while the vet took care of him. I stayed by his side. Picking him up in his bag to take him home for burial was one of the most gut-wrenching experiences of my life. He felt about 5 lbs. heavier with all the fluids that had built up.

We put him in a Rubbermaid box with some flowers and buried him in the best part of the yard. Right next to where our hammock is hung - it's a peaceful, shady area where the cats would come relax with us in the hammock. Dad is making him a cross for the grave.

Teri handled it as expected. Sad, but strong. We both cried a lot.

I got teary eyed reading your post, Donna. I am so sorry it had to come to this but I am glad that your DD handled it okay. It's so hard to lose a pet but I am glad your kitty is not suffering anymore. Hugs to you and your family.

Donna,
I'm so sorry that kuzco had to be put down. I know first hand how hard it is to lose one of our furriest family members.

it sounds like kuzco will always be with you in that beautiful spot.

Donna-

I am so sorry Kuzco had to be put down. Many hugs & prayers for you guys. It brings back the sadness I felt when I lost my CJ, hang in there & eventually you'll be able to remember the good times when you think of Kuzco & not the sadness you are feeling now.

{{{HUGS}}}

So sorry to hear that Lorrie! How hard for your family to lose such a loved family member. {{{HUGS}}} My heart's with you and yours tonight.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My kitties in cat heaven will be greeting Kuzco when he arrives.

Is Kuzco the kitty in your avatar (the one I always thought was a burrito, until I finally looked at the bigger version)?

Oh, Donna, I'm so sorry. I am all teary-eyed from reading your post. I had to put a sick cat down a couple of years ago, and while it gets easier, it's so hard to lose them.

Take care.
((hugs))

Awwww, Donna, I'm so sorry. I'm sending lots of hugs. We lost our cat last year, so I know what you're going through.

Take good care.

No, that's Purrple. She's my favorite pet of all time, so beautiful and mellow. I shouldn't play favorites, right? I can't help it, she's so soft and cuddly. I was going to post a picture of Kuzco in my update, but I couldn't get it to work.

A burrito...that's hilarious.

Awww poor Donna & Teri. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. But you gave your kitty a good life & you should always remember that, & the good times you had w/him.

>A burrito...that's hilarious.

I swear, the avatar photo is so small on my laptop that I couldn't really see that there was a cat there. It looked (and still looks, even though I now know what the photo is) like you had your head tilted to the side and were chowing down on a really stuffed burrito!

So sorry about Kuzco, Donna! I was hoping he would pull through. You gave him a great life and you did the right thing for him at the end.

((((((HUGS)))))) to you and Teri!

Carola

Donna,

I'm so sorry.
