Update on Grace Louise!!

Hi, everyone. The following is part of an e-mail that my sister-in-law (Grandma) sent me yesterday.

Dear Friends,
Good news! Gracie is gaining weight and now tips the scale at 5lb. 9oz. (drinking 75 cc at a time - that's a little more than 2 oz.) She is much more alert for longer periods and they have decided to wait until her one month follow up for another MRI/EEG. She is opening both eyes widely (still haven't captured that on camera, but we will!) She is also beginning to voice her opinion about when it should be meal time, instead of having to be woken up! She continues to have some trouble maintaining her temperature, but she was able to be out from under the lamp a lot more today than yesterday. The neurologists and neonatologists are impressed with her progress and her neurological status. Nothing short of a miracle! They are planning for a late week discharge from the NICU to home and needless to say, mom, dad, grandma and grandpa are looking forward to that!

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and positive thoughts for my great niece! As I said before, the miracle continues...

Doreen, what wonderful news!! Bless her tiny little heart. I hope things continue to improve for little Gracie. How is her mommy doing? This is such an emotional time postpartum and to have all of this going has got to be so hard!! I hope all are doing ok.
