Underhand / Overhand

Hey what's the difference between the underhand and overhand grip pullups? (besides the grip obviously :)
Im assuming they engage some different smaller muscle groups.. but what's the specifics on that?

Underhand-grip (supine) pull-ups (often called "chin-ups", which is what I call them to distinguish them from the overhand-grip version) involve the biceps more.
Overhand-grip pull-ups (or simply "pull-ups") use the biceps less.

Because of this, chin-ups are usually easier to do than pull-ups (because more muscle is involved).

I find that chinups (hands facing in) work my biceps more, and pullups (hands facing out) work my lats more. Also, depending on your hand placement the wide grip (hands further apart) you get out more of the lats and the close grip (hands close together) you'll even feel it in your forearms. HTH some!
