Uh - oh panicky

Aaaahhh. DH's cousin called me this a.m. She got a Cathe catalog. She dabbles in some exercise, but nothing too intense or organized. Goes in cycles - gets geared up with it and then gets bored, so stops.

She was looking throught the catalog and says this catalog does a great job at selling these DVDs - but before she invests in any of them, wants to be sure she'll like them. Sounds reasonable. She thinks she'd really like B&G and and maybe one of the cardio ones and wants to (breathe deeply) barrow mine for a while. Heart palpitations. I see this cousin about 3-4 times a year. Help.

I'll be walking the Komen 3-day (60 miles) the week after Cathe's RT. To view my webpage go to: https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=202302&supid=166016627

I wouldn't give it to her, Lorrie!!!!! Loaning out my Cathe DVD, over my dead body }( We all know what loaning usually leads to - YOU WON"T GET IT BACK!!! Or it's scratched, broken or something else happened.

I would tell her that you would love to, but you are on a rotation that contains B&G weekly. She can buy the DVD, if she doesn't like it, she can always sell it on ebay without a big loss.

Hi Lorrie -
I'd be straight with her. Tell her they're not something you lend out because you USE them and each is a part of your rotations. Your workout DVDs are not like a library of books that you might read once and put back on the shelf for storage, right? Don't feel selfish for wanting your workouts to be available when you need them. I've lent out too many things and then regretted it when the object wasn't available for ME to use. (It'd be different if she was your next door neighbor or something.)

No way!!! Tell her you are using it every week. She can return them to collagevideo.com if she doesn't like them.

Ask her if she gets Fit TV on cable or satellite. She could watch tape the ones Cathe has on there to get an idea of Cathe's style.

Jean

NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell her you use them all the time and therefore could not loan them to her. She can watch Cathe on FitTV to get an idea. If she does not have FitTV, offer to tape some shows for her and she can get her idea from that. I would do that before I'd loan my DVD's.

You could always tell her to come to your house and look at them. But, I'm with everyone else---NO WAY would I lend them out. And the reasons others have given are legit, especially that you use them regularly and don't want to be without them.

Refer her to Flickety Fit where she can borrow DVDs, including Cathe, to her heart's content.

Ah nope no deal my Cathe dvds stay in this house with me and never get loaned out - nope nevah!

- family or not she can get an idea of the dvd from viewing the clips Cathe has.

Why don't you invite her over to try it with you?

I still don't have the Pulp Fiction soundtrack I loaned my boss...and he moved to Mexico with it!

NO!NO!NO!!! I've only ever loaned out 1 Cathe - and it was CoreMax to a coworker I see everyday and I know where she lives!!! You'd be better off just giving her the $25 to buy one, or maybe she has a birthday coming up. Or, just be be a bit evil - When she's in town, have her come over and pop in the hardest one you have. While she's panting in the corner, you can just happily jack, jump, and hop along. Kick her bootie. It'll keep her out of your stuff for awhile!!

Nan

I wouldn't lend them out to her: as you say, you only see her a few times a year, and who knows if she'd get them back to you safely.

Instead, maybe invite her over to your place for a viewing, or even doing one of the workouts?

"Neither a bOrrower nor a lender be" sounds like good advice when it comes to Cathe DVD's!

Just say you can't loan it out because you use it too much and you would miss it. I agree with inviting her over to watch it or refer her to flickety fit / collage (for return policy).
