I hate the smell of most colognes (and perfumes as well). I only wear a few scents that are alcohol and essential oils, and very light.
I don't know what's worse, though, heavy cologne/perfume, or B.O. I was in the check=out line at Walmart the other day, and some guy came behind me, putting his booze and ciggies on the belt. He smelled like he hadn't washed his hair in weeks (a very distinctive odor that you recognize when you smell it). I had to step as far forward as I could, because I felt like gagging. And I'm sure I had a really disgusted look on my face.
Having a sensitive sense of smell (like I do) is great when the lilies of the valley are in bloom, but when people are reeking...another story all together.
