turbokick instructors

I am green of envy. I would like to go to a personal certification but I am spanish and I don't have TK master class here. I have bought the home study program to become certificated in Turbo Kick. Did you enjoy the TK master class?

I am still on the fence. I thought of ordering the home study too, Let me know how it is. My problem is it is not like a regular kickbox class like I am use to. Its sort of Jazzercise only Kickbox??? My class was not hard at all. I prefer Cathe and Powerstike to this. Maybe it was that instructor. I have heard Charlene the INVENTOR of the program is awesome. Do you teach now? kickbox or step?

I am a home exerciser. I know that all the people who go to the live certification pass an get the certification. Using the home study program I have to do and submit a written text (easy to pass if you study the manual you receive with the home study program) and a video for technique evaluation (you receive a tecnique video with the program). In the practical video you perform a minimum of 8 repetitions for each required skill demostrated on both left and right and you have to demostrate any coreographed combination (a minimum of an 8 count combo) from the Round you receive with your home study(I received the Round 25).I love the Turbo Kick round and the Turbo Jam workouts I have. They are so much fun.

Hi, I'm bumping up this thread because I am curious to hear what others have to say. I'm considering doing an at home Turbo Kick certification at some point. So far the classes I've taken were great. Not easy at all. My heartrate was up the whole time. I did a BodyCombat class the other day and I was not impressed. I felt that I got a better workout with Turbo Kick. It could have been the instructors, but the stuff is choreographed, so it's always the same. Anyway, anyone else want to add some experience or thoughts on this? Thanks!

I got my cert about 2 years ago and I personally don't care much for it. I have been teaching aerobics for 10 years and I teach everything. Certified and trained in every class out there, one exception is hip-hop, just not my thing personally! My issue with it is that the BMP's are way to fast and they want you to teach at a 140-145 BPM. I feel that is unsafe and most people have a hard time using good form at that rate. When I teach kickbox I always like to teach at a 132-135 max BPM and focus more on the movements adding in more power instead of just throwing punches all over the place. If you are new to teaching it might be ok to start with, but I would keep your money and look for a better cert. JMO. Queing is not hard, once you learn how to que IMO you use it all the time no matter what the workout. All I can really say is it depends on the instructor and your own personal goals and workout level. Everyone is different, but that is just my opinion!

Good luck!
