turbo jam question

I was wondering if you needed to do weight lifting workouts in addition to turbo jam???? i ask b/c the weighted gloves work your upper body, the kicks and squat/lunge kicks work your legs and all the twisting works your abs. so i was think that adding in weight training in addition to these workouts would overtrain your muscles. i want to lean out a bit and i was thinking of doing the TJ workouts 5 days a week (the cardio ones not her weight ones) what do you all think for those who have gotten good results from turbo jam?

TJ

Personally, I love Turbo Jam and I think they're fun cardio. But... I don't think they're really going to replace your weight training. I would at least add in 2 days a week of weight training. I don't think you'd be over training, even using the weighted gloves. (which I LOVE!) Or maybe if you do Lower Body Jam, then add on some leg weights also. Let me know if you need some suggestions!

I've never done a straight TJ rotation, I just add them in when I want some fun cardio!

I totally agree with Jess! They are really fun for cardio, but I would not consider them for weight training.

I agree with the other two. It gives you a good workout with gloves, but I wouldn't say it's enough build or strengthen muscles. I'd do two days of weights in addition to TJ.

I would agree with all above. Turbo jam is great for cardio and a bit of weight, but surely does not build muscle. You have to lift heavier if you want to build lean muscle. Plus after a while, those muscles get used to the same exercise; so the lifting helps with that muscle confusion. (Now if I could only get muself to do what I just said and stop doing so much cardio and more lifting...lol)

I don't want to build anymore muscle. currently i would like to tone down my muscle and get leaner. mabe 3 days of turbo jam and 2 days full body?
