TTC/Preg Check in Week of Oct 19th

Cathlete
Hi ladies! It's been so slow here on posts...especially with so many moms delivering their precious packages. Should we move to weekly check-in's for now?

What happened to Susan & Anne? I feel all alone w/my TTC efforts! There was another couple gals, I forget her names....Christine? YOu'll have to remind me!

I'm feeling blah & didn't want to get up this AM. Like I have vomit that needs to come up. AF is due to arrive in 5 days. So far no tell-tale acne...but I'm sure it's around the corner... DH & I weren't very "active" this month. He is starting to feel "better" though with recent medication adjustments (thanks to his horny pharmacist).

Trish, I'll be praying for you & your weeone this day. Today is YOUR day!

Lisa, anything "new"?

Candra, you already gave birth?!?!?!

Jen/Jessica, I am determined NOT to mix you too up!!!!! Jessica, can we celebrate your 2nd trimeseter yet? :p:p How are you feeling?

Jen, how has work been? Slowed down?

I best get going. Have to get a head start so I don't bash up any deer on my way to work (one week ago today).

Check back after work. ;)

Good morning everyone :)
I hope you all had a nice weekend.
Melanie - be careful on your drive to work - i'm sure you will be. Don't let your deer accident freak you out. I'm sure it shook you up, but you sound like you are alert. I know that can be scary. IF you dwell on something too long, its not good for you though.

I once had to respond to a call of an accident on the highway. THe woman was trapped in her car. I responded code of course but we were all too late. Her car had slammed into a tree and was going up in flames. I could see her inside, trapped, and could hear her screaming and there was nothing you could do but sit there and watch her die. The firefighters tried to get her out. They eventually put out the flames and she was breathing, but she died on scene. That was the first time I ever saw someone die right in front of me. I felt so helpless and it affected me for a while. As a police officer, that was very hard to see becuase you want to help people but there wasnt a thing you could do.I've seen a couple accidents, but that was by far the worst. IT kind of reminds you of what a death trap you get into daily and how easy it is and how quick an accident could happen.
So...just be cautious when you drive, wear your seatbelt and try not to get distracted in the car. I dont always follow that advice (sometimes i'm on the phone etc).

Sorry..that was kind off of topic and a little tangent!

Oh, I watch Depserate Housewives. I LOVE that show. It's the only show i follow. Now that i'm on day shift for my pregnancy i can watch it every week. I missed most of the entire last season though (Santa usually brings it for xmas though) so i'm usually a year behind, but i've been keeping up this season. Next week looks good - they show you what happened five years prior. Yay. I'll have to be sure to watch it.

Work slowed down because they took my coworkers away and moved them to another location so they get the bulk of the work. Its a welcome break for me given how busy I was, but now i have noone to talk to and i miss those girls. Oh well!

I had good workouts this weekend, but think i overdid it yesterday as my whole body was hurting last evening. I cant even remember what workouts I did Friday or Saturday. But Sunday i did Amy Bento's Hi/Lo Extreme and then Gin Miller's Serious Strength.

Lately i have apain in the arch of my right foot. I had to stop half way thru the high low and change shoes which helped for about three minutes :( I try to work thru it, but sometimes it hurts too bad ... so i dont know how to fix it or if there can be anything done to help.

Not much else is new with me, just doing the daily things as usual...

Hope you all have a nice monday...is it 5pm yet, lol

Hey ladies.

Jen -that story is awful.. :( My MIL works in intensive care and sees the most awful things. I don't think I could handle it. But usually they are due to drama (people drinking someone shoots someone else).

Melanie- With this pregnancy and my last we got preggo on months we weren't very active either. It really can take only one time. My dh actually deployed right after we tried with DS #2. I actually thought it was too soon to try but we did anyway. Then I found out and was surprized.

With me well.. gosh I hate being so neg all the time. But my headaches are killing me. I hate to scare off anyone TTC. I didn't have this with my two boys. I did throw up alot with my first but I wasn't in great health then. My second I don't remember being sick at all? Is it possible to forget? lol. I'd actually trade these headaches in for a bit of nausea and throwing up. I HATE headaches. well Its a bit better now but I can still feel it. I had an icepack in bed an hour ago and all night long. I'm never taking tylenol again after I'm not preggo/nursing. I need my excedrin migrane! :( or something to just knock me out lol!

jessica (you are jessica, right? :) )
usually those things are not too bad to handle, but watching someoen die in front of you is not a good experience. especially when left so helpless. I have seen dead bodies and they didnt bother me. I think in my line of work you have to become desensitized to it, or else it can mess you up. Who knows, maybe it will catch up with people years down the road. The job is pretty stressful.
Being pregnant and a first time mom im rethinking the whole career but unemployment is bad and my husband thinks i just need to get back out there into the swing of things. iwould love to work from home and earn a similar paycheck but i dont know how!!! :( sigh...i feel so unqualified even tho i have a college degree (that i've never used)

anyway - sorry to hear about your headaches, i hope they subside soon. I've been blessed with this prenancy. I did not throw up. I would feel naseous sometimes and tired, but it really hasnt been that bad compared to other people's stories i hear!

next month i have to drink that awful orange sugar drink to test for diabetes. Blech..i wonder how many calories are in that?!?! :)

Melanie- I was one of the other ones that is TTC. I have tried not to be so obsessed with TTC so I haven't really been on here but I have been keeping up. I have no idea what is going on with my body. I spotted for like a week when I thought I would O but then nothing happened (I temp) with my temps. Then this weekend we went out of town and I decided I was leaving the thermometer at home and not stressing it but then noticed I had some EWCM for a few days. We did get some BDing in so hopefully it was enough. According to my chart last month I am due for AF on the 22nd but with the way this cycle has been, I really don't know what to expect. So, that's me in a nutshell. I hope things are going much better for you in that department!

Jen

jen -well shes told me horror stories that are pretty gorry and sad. she also has the job of telling family when someone dies. She sees many accidents with organs spilled and other nastyness. I definetly couldn't do it. My DH has special training in trauma situations. He does well in that. I'd pass out or something I'm sure. lol.

well I just threw up again. I thought I was lucky and didn't have much of that but lucky me I get severe headaches and throwing up. :( I don't know if I can survive this if it keeps up another month or so.

Jess

aw jess, i'm sorry. i hope you feel better. Hang in there, i know it has to be tough but its worth it in the end. MAybe your doctor can help find some safe medication to take to help you through the nausea. i hope you feel better soon!

Thankfully my Dh gave me some zofran and it seems to be helping. I'll ask about getting some at my appt tomorrow. getting dehydrated wont help the headaches thats for sure.

Who's Jess? Do we have a Jess AND a Jessica? ;) I'm sorry about headaches. :( Try taking your acetaminophen with coffee or Mt Dew (caffeine is a vasodialator & will help with your headache & speed up tylenol in your system). Try to combat your headaches before they occur, if that is possible. Again, I"m sorry. It will get better!!

Jen #2, that was an awful story. Luckily, in my medical profession (as a retail pharmacist) my patients are alive, well, and ambulatory. Sometimes I have a hospice patient, but for the most part they are ready to die...

Lisa, I think I'm actually AF ready next couple of days? I"m feeling crampy tonight & have a couple pimples....

Jen#3, YES!!! Another TTCer!!! ARe you the one who just went off birth control? It does take a couple cycles to get "normal"

Good morning everyone - are we keeping this check in for the entire week now ? ? Its tuesday AM.
Im at work (as usual) just writing to say hi.
Last nite i was so tired after work but forced a workout - Kelly Coffey Meyers Step Boxing 2. Thats a goodie! So i was glad i forced myself to workout.

Lately i've been getting a pain in my arch on my right foot. It gets so bad i actually have to STOP the workout about 30 min into and change into another pair of shoes. Which helps for about 3 mins but then starts hurting again. Anyone else have this?

Oh and Jen, i got off the pill around Feb-March and had conceived in May. So everyone is different. Hang in there :)

Melanie- Yes I am the Jen that recently stopped BC. This would be my second cycle without it. I'm having a lot of crazy stuff going on right now with my body so I am trying to hang in there.

Jen #2- Thanks for the encouragement! I'm sorry to hear about the pain in your foot. I am also one to not slow down or stop working out because of pain and then I end up making it worse!

Good morning to everyone else!

Good morning ladies,

I ended up doing 30 minutes on the treadmill. Once again, not sure about today's workout, planned is Stepworks and abs from B&G, but I am not sure yet. Just not into stepping lately, more my TM, so we'll see what happens.

Hello all. I feel actually a bit normal today. ah sweet relief. I hope it stays. sigh. I have my appt today around 2:45. getting the pap, should hear the heartbeat and discuss the headaches. I guess there isn't anything they can do though. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll pass soon. I'm so eager to feel good again and I MISS WORKING OUT! lol. I have to take my boys with me cause DH says he can't get away from work today and my neighbor who offered to help just got a new job at that time so can't get away either. I am going to bring them activities and their leapster game thing. I have a new game Ive saved for today. I hope the dr doesn't mind. I really didn't want to bring them today with the pap and all but DH says they can sit behind the curtain and do thier thing while they do that. so we'll see how it goes.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Good luck at your appointment, Jess. Esepcially with your kiddies in tow! I'm sure the game will keep them amused as you get poked and prodded. Did you get to hear the heartbeat.

I dont know what my workout will be tonite. DH works so i'll doanother forced workout tonite. He is off wed/thur so iwont work out after work. in fact im having my dad over for dinner with us - cheese stuffed meatloaf, with au gratin potatos and mixed veggies. Mm..i am hungry

I am hoping to get Tracey Staehle's two new workouts in the mail today - other people got them the past two days and i know mine shipped Friday, so here's hoping! That will make my working out happen easier - always look forward to new workouts!

my appt update:
heartbeat was in the 160s. Gosh I forget what exactly I think she said 167-168. I told her about my headaches and she gave me midrin. I thought I couldn't have it? In fact I had some prior to the pregnancy that I threw away when I found out about the baby. But I guess if your getting them this bad they recommend it. sigh. Maybe they'll fizzle out on their own. I think I'll feel bad taking it even if I'm desperate.
She said if she didn't know my edd (13 weeks today) she'd guess by feeling the uterus that I was 14 weeks. So atleast I'm measuring around where I should be. The baby seems fine. I can schedule my U/S soon and it will be around the end of Nov/beg of Dec.
It was so great to hear the heartbeat for the 1st time. ;)

jess, yay to the hb!!! so happy for you!
if its any consolation my midwife TOLD me to take motrin post-partum to deal with the pp ctx. hth!

well midrin is a bit different. its a prescription migrane med. one my dh got for me before i found out about the baby. Its a catagory C which is kinda iffy.. so I'm a bit nervous about taking it even if they say I can.

yeah it was a nice relief to hear the heartbeat and know the little one is doing fine in there. ;)

Jess, congrats on the hb, that's always a relief!!! As far as category "C" drugs go, I would certainly not worry about it....especially if you use it only a handfull of times. Very few drugs are category B, and i don't know one that is category "A".

I got AF this AM, so I'm out another month....as I suspected. TTC is so frustrating. If I think of all the "wasted" time that is used thinking "could I be pg?" "my tummy is upset, is it morning sickness?" " I'm especially tired today, does that mean...." YUK!! :(

Krillie, Jen#3, Susan, Anne,....I hope this month proves to be a fertile one for you guys. We need some hope over here!!!!

Justin has preK today. I didn't w/o last two days...I've been seriously sore from BOSU blast!!!!

Melanie - sorry about AF showing up. :( I hope it happens soon for you. It took us a while to get preggo with son #2 also when we were really trying.
I guess I won't worry too much about the med. I really could've used it this last week. I feel ok today. Just kinda tired/fatigued. I may feel a bit better in a few hours. if I'm up to it I'll do a workout tonight.
