TTC/Preg Check in June 26th

Cathlete
Good morning. I"m up early hoping to get get a 45 minute run in on the elliptical. Working myself up, trying not to expend too much energy for my long day.

Still no energy. I literally want to lay down on the middle of the floor in the pharmacy & not move. Of course, I cannot do that and keep my job. I do my darnest not to complain about my fatigue, but it's pretty obvious. I spoke to MIL, who had NO idea about our condition---and I didn't tell her---DH can. I feel foolish telling people b/c I know they're thinking "why in the world would they do that, don't they have enough on their plate with 2 mortgages and mega work hours?". So what do you do, tell everyone, "Oops"?

My belly is definitely rounding out already. I'm still hoping to wait until beginning of August to "announce" at work the news. If I can just find some long "bigger" non-maternity shirts to wear over my maternity pants I'll be fine:)

Kate~my 4 year old has been missing one front tooth for about a year already. He somehow got really soft teeth (others have never had a cavity) and they were rotten in front at 18 months! They capped them, and did root canals put the one cap fell off, we just left it off. He looks like a real bruiser!!

Shopaholic~ Nice to hear from you, your encouragement is great

Susan~ congrats on weight change

Kristan~ I"m always amazed at how active women are right before birth! Get that stuff cleaned up, your having that baby soon!!!!!!

Trish~ Did you get your run in?

Morris~ How's it going? How's baby doing? All healed up?

Jen~ I hate ants

Mikkia~ Did you have ANY fun in Disney? Do you wish you would have waited until next year?

Steph~ Fall? That's an evil word! Of course, we haven't had a heat wave liek all ya'll have

Maggie~ Never had 1--meat cravings or 2--hot feet. The others I could attest too. Do you have hemmrhhoids? The insomnia was/is so bad with pg I need to take Ambien to be able to function. It is category "B" in pregnancy---which is safest a drug can be categorized.

Well, off to work out. Chat later!

~Melanie~

Wow, I cannot believe I'm only the second one here!! I wanted to apologize for my little rant yesterday. I had a frustrating afternoon, and I should just step back and take a deep breath and realize how blessed I am and not complain. Today will be a better day.

Susan--I am so sorry you are going through such a hard time. If the spotting doesn't stop and the test remains positive, I'd ask my doc about the possibility of a molar pregnancy. My sister had one of those. I'm not very sure exactly what it is, but she had to undergo some treatments for it. Afterward, she went on to have two healthy little girls, and she's 40, so don't be discourage about your age. I'm sure you're probably in much better shape than girls in their 20s!! :)

Melanie--I'm sorry you're also going through a rough patch. I hope your energy improves soon. Did your doc put you on iron? I was so much more tired this time around than in previous pregnancies. Maybe it's just the fact that you have so much stress on you right now and your body is dealing with it by fatiguing. You have nothing to be ashamed of either. You should tell whomever you want about this pregnancy. Just because it wasn't planned doesn't mean it's not just as big of a blessing. Sometimes the biggest blessings are those we aren't prepared for. ((Hugs))

Morris--If you're out there, please start checking in again. I'd love to know how the baby is doing!!! :)

Good morning to Kate, Maggie, Candra, Mikkia, Jen, Trish, Kristan, and anyone I may have missed!!!

------
So, I didn't get a workout in yesterday. It took all I could do to break up fights between the boys and to get the house cleaned yesterday. Still have to vacuum upstairs and clean one bathroom. Ugh. I did get up early this morning and do 4DS kickboxing and half of the 4DS legs (skipped the deadlifts and leg presses). I feel SO good now. I hope I can start working out in the morning regularly. Gained 2.5 pounds overnight. Literally. I have no idea how. I didn't eat a lot of salt yesterday. Oh well...
Today I have a meeting at my church and then kids and I are meeting my mom and my sis and her kiddos at the botanical gardens for a walk. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Goodmorning all. I have the flu. I am actually glad, because I thought if this is a new phase of pregnancy torture count me out. I have a fever, runny nose, headache, and nausea and vomiting. That is what I get for going to Disney. Oh well. I had a really good time, the kids just loved it. I am very thankful that no one else is sick.
Stephanie-Hope you have a great day today. Sounds like a great workout too. Don't worry about the weight gain, just keep track of what you are eating.
Melanie-Hope you feel better. I wish I had more encouragement. I think you should tell whomever you want too. It also will give you a free pass to lay on the floor at work or cry for whatever reason you want. Pregnancy is a good excuse for all kinds of weird behavior! that being said, we have only told my parents and sisters and a few close friends. though I am not sure how many people the loud mouth receptionist has told. I only got 5 phone calls.
Maggie-I am LMAO at your pregnancy s/s list. I am so glad we all have our pregnancy demons. I haven't experienced the feet part, but last pregnancy red meat was the bomb, and all I wanted to eat.
Susan-I am so sorry this whole thing cannot wrap up for you. I am praying for some resolution, and fast.
Hi to all to follow if I don't come back today.

Melanie, Sorry for the fatigue! If it's any consolation it should be gone in about a month!:p

Stephanie, Great job on the WO today. I've been reaching for 4DS KB a lot this pg too. The garden walk sounds nice!

Mikkia, Good to see you back! Sorry about the flu! Yuck!

Lots to do today...bbl.

hi everyone - just wanted to pop in tosay hi! we are well here. aidan gained almost 1 lb by his 2 week checkup - he is now 5. 9! i am down quite a few lbs but have 6 more to go. i feel great and all my clothes fit again, so i am going to try not to worry about the scale too much. i am walking a ton but waiting on impact stuff for probably another week. i am also doing some weights, but frankly, there is not much time. we are quite exhausted, but i am functioning, so that is good. my sweet funny little 2 year old is testing every single limit, so we have had a lot of timeouts. very hard to put someone in time out while nursing:) this too shall pass, i hope.

melanie, i hope this fatigue lessens soon. i also hope the house goes - any ward yet?

hey stephanie - thanks for asking about us. great workout! how are you feeling?

hi kate - i imagine you are still eating squeaky clean? i need to follow suit, but i get so hungry when nursing. i have eated so much peanut butter, it is ridiculous!

kristan, when is your next appointment? i am thinking you will go into albor soon if you are already dilated.

hi lisa - how are you handling the summer heat? any new workouts? i cannot wait to hit my cathes again. i keep almost pulling them out but am trying to be good and wait even though i feel fine.

jen, anne, thinking of you both.

trish, how is the running?

uh oh, most feed baby. hi to everyone else!

Mikkia--I am so sorry about the flu! I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Kate--Hey! Hope your busy day is a fun one!!

Morris--I am in total awe of you -- only six pounds to go!! You rock! Have you had any trouble with the weights? I never attempted them very soon after my last c-section, but I want to be more aggressive this time around since I've gained SO much weight. I also plan on walking a ton. Just wanted to let you know how inspirational you are! Great job! And I'm glad Aidan is gaining weight so well! Hope you are getting some sleep.

OK now off to my meeting!!

Well, I did end up getting a few random cleaning tasks done yesterday. My kitchen window sill looks great--lots of clutter tends to collect there--and I labeled every drawer and toy container in the boy's room, so that an older child can pick up for me and know where everything goes (as if common sense did not dictate that like items belong together). I also created a laundry schedule and hope to way reduce our laundry--I'll let you know if it works.

Stephanie--LOL at your post yesterday--I can relate. If the older ones bicker, I assign them extra chores, which they must complete without bickering or complaining...or they get some more. It helps me remain calm and works pretty well. But the younger ones, it's just more difficult. Hang in there;) .

Susan--I'm just griping--I really shouldn't complain. Lots of women have it worse than me. Good news about not needing a D&C. I'll keep praying for you.

Melanie--(((hugs))) on feeling so tired. And as far as people's comments on your getting pregnant at such a time as this--I can relate. Lots of people questioned the "wisdom" of us expecting a 7th child. My MIL, especially, had some choice comments for us that were very hurtful. I had to really focus on the fact that God does not make mistakes, that it is never stupid or foolish to trust in Him, and that children are a blessing, if one looks at things biblically. Okay, off my soap box now....and yes, I do have hemmroids (spelling?), but they are not bothering me now, thank you Lord.

Mikkia--sorry you are sick on top of pregnancy nausea. Here I am griping about my 3rd trimester woes, but nothing beats the misery of morning sickness. It is the worst. I must put all things in perspective. How far along are you now--approaching 11 weeks? If so, 2nd trimester relief is not far off.

Kate--hope you get lots done today. And I feel like an idiot, but I keep seeing bbl and I cannot figure out what it means. Some sort of good by message, but what exactly?

Morris--so good to hear from you! Only 6 lbs--that rocks. I hope to be down to the last 6 lbs like next spring or something:eek:. That's what I get for being a piggy. And I though that going from one to two children was the hardest transition, because the 2 yo still needs lots of help and the new one is totally dependent. It will pass.

Hi everyone else!

Maggie:)
32 weeks, 3 days

I wanted to add that my comments to Melanie regarding children were in no way meant to criticize or belittle anyone who chooses to limit their family size--that's totally an individual decision. It's meant to address those who are judging us for having more kids. I hope I'm being clear:).

MElanie~ I wouldn't worry about what anyone has to say. I get a lot of comments and questions because this is #4, but usually I just say the best things in life are not planned and leave it at that. After having my 3rd someone I didn't know actually asked me if I had gotten cut and burned? I was like excuse me?? I hope you are feeling better soon. I would ask for a complete bloodwork from the dr. I think being tired is normal in early pregnancy, but it seems you are really feeling something. It would just get it checked to be sure.

Morris~yay for being down to 6lbs!! Yes it is a challenge to nurse and do a time out. Wait for a few more months when you are a champ w/ nursing. I remember walking around my house and wiping butts (dd was just potty training when we had Landon) I had to get up and help, but if I took Landon off the breast he cried and never got calmed down so I learned pretty fast how to walk, nurse, and use my free hand to do something w/ the older ones. This of course was after the baby was a bit bigger.. def not newborn stage, but a few months in I had to adapt. LOL

Mikkia~sorry to hear about the flu.. just rest and get those fluids in.

Maggie~I LOVE large families. I have never really met a larger family that wasn't organized and well close knit. I love that. My neighbors have 5 children and i am always asking her for advice. She also homeschools and she just has some of the most well behaved respectful children. If dh would allow us to have more I probably would go for it, but he really only wanted 2 so now that we are on 4 I figure he has given enough. LOL That is so cool that your children want to learn spanish. I think it will become more and more important for each genertation to learn it.

Yesterday was one of thsoe days. Man my kiddos were just at each other.. it was awful. I had to make my oldest lay down so I could have a few minutes peace.. then my dd was running out of her room to where he was.. she woke up the baby.. I had to give her a talking to then she started crying for her daddy.. that made me cry. I swear what a day. We ended up going to the trail early then swimming at my in laws so I could get a small break. Then home to bed early. So far today is much better. Going to go try to get a run in now. We walked this morning. I have figured out that I get the pain the worst when the baby is down on my right side.. so I think it's round ligament pain, but it is really bad when the baby is in that area. So far today no pain so I am hoping to get a run in.. maybe some weights when I come in then a shower. Probably no walk this evening since we did it this morning.

Morris, So good to hear from you! You are raising the bar on post-partum fitness! My goodness! Eating is okay for me, thanks for asking. 23.5 weeks, 13 lb. gain earlier this week. Big bro will learn to adapt - sounds like you're doing a GREAT job!

Hello Stephanie! Hope your mtg is productive!

Maggie, Good organizing & whining tactics - we all have a lot to learn from you!Sorry about MIL - and the hemorroids - ouch! Never had them. bbl = be back later. No worries on your last line, by the way!

day is going well. We're headed out swimming soon... it is HOT here!

Trish, ((((hugs)))) on y'day. I think God gives us those days so we appreciate more the days that AREN"T like that! Glad today is going better.

Check in

Hi guys. Thanks again for your encouragement.

Today I am beyond tired. I don't think I've been more fatigued in my entire life! Urgh. I've seriously thought about going home so I can sleep---my poor coworkers (and family). I called my dr's office to see if I could just get some bloodwork drawn, and my dr's out of town until Monday---of course I work 6 days next week so that won't work. I'm not going to go to the ER or anything so we'll have to hold on.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my whining. ;)

Nothing new on house, except the reports from showings are the yard/beach needs TLC. We just can't keep up with it anymore, it's sad. :( My aunt/uncle in Iowa have lost their house in the river, so I've offered up our house to them---maybe they can keep it up. :)

Chat later

RE: Check in

Melanie-so sorry to hear about your uncles home in IA. I'll pray for them. I hope you can get some rest.
Trish-I swear it must be in the air. My kids may actually kill each other. DS is holding dd favorite necklace hostage right now because she took his darth vader. I just don't care anymore....Tomorrow is another day.
Morris-good news about baby's weight! And really good news about yours. BF with a 2 year old running about is a challenge. When we went through it I had a tuperware box of special toys dd(she was 2 1/2) could play with only when I was nursing. This worked well, for about 6 weeks. Then it became how bad can I behave before mom gets off the couch while nursing, and my favorite "i need to go to the bathroom" the second you sit down and get all set up to nurse. Hang in there. I am sure you are doing fine!
Hey Kate! Have a fun day at the pool!
Maggie-You are so right about number of children being none of anyone's business. I have a boy and a girl and the few people that do know act like we are crazy because we have one of each, what are we hoping for? I just don't see how it is anyones afair!! If I wasn't sick as a dog for a 1/3 of pregnancy and God was willing I would have 4 or 5. But after this past 5 weeks 3 will be just fine!

I am sorry to complain so much you all. I promise to limit it from here on out!

RE: Check in

Hi,
I have to go soon and get ready for class. Last class tonight, then one week off, then the next class is M-F 8-4, then I'm done till late October (yeah).
I had my glucose test yesterday, and no news is good news, so I'm thinking it went fine. The dr. appt went well too. I gained 4 1/2 pounds. Man, the weight sure does come on me in mid-late pregnancy!!! I have gained about 20 pounds so far!

Morris-Great to hear from you. I love to hear your experiences with disciplining your 2-year old and handling Aidan. I am sure many fun times await me as well... Great job on the weight loss!

Trish-We have all had those days. I agree with Kate. Almost every day last week, my DS had really awful temper tantrums while around my friends/their well-behaved kiddos. It does get frustrating and embarrassing to say the least!

Maggie-Cleaning just never seems to be a job that will ever be finished, at least in my house. I laughed at your symptoms. I could make my own list of whacky ones too.

Melanie-When you tell people your great news, just hold your head high and disregard anything they say. You have great news, and that's that. I hope you aunt and uncle can live in your house. At least it will give them a nice place to stay and they can take care of it for you!

Steph-Yeah on the double workouts this morning. I love working out in the a.m., and I usually do during the school year.

Mikkia-Sorry to hear you have the flu. I hope you get well VERY soon!

Kate-I may have missed it, but did you do Preggi Bellies yet. Did you like it? I did get L.Sansone's 5 mile walk today, so plan to do it later.

Hi Anne, Hi Candra, Hi Susan! I am sorry if I missed anyone else. I have to get ready for class now.
-Jen

RE: Check in

Melanie, Sorry for the fatuge, house woes, and your fam. (((hugs))) for you.

Hello Mikkia!

Jen, This last month was a big gaining month for me too. I got PB, but I need to inflate my ball more. It was really uncomfortable. No Leslie's yet - still waiting. Let me know what you think of yours.

DDs were playing nice so I did 4DS KB cardio real quick. Now we'll go swimming! I got a chance to practice my hypno-birthing! In the middle of my WO I got a BRaxton-Hicks contraction. I used the breathing for contractions and it worked like a charm! yay!

RE: Check in

Melanie - I agree with Maggie re: people having opinions about your family size. It's your family and you guys decide what you want. Other people really need to learn to keep their opinions to themselves and not force it upon others.

Mikkia - I love Disneyland. Did you guys go to Disneyworld? I hope the flu passes quickly.

Morris - Hi there!!! I'm so glad to "see" you! Sounds like you're doing great and have a handle on things with two little ones. Yay for Aidan's weight gain and your weight loss! I just started doing more of my stand-up pilates and I am hooked on ME. I love it. I haven't touched my GS series in awhile because I'm so hooked on ME. I think I just like change every now and then.

Stephanie - We all have days like that with our kids. I have to remind them that unless someone is hurt, bleeding, and needs to go to the ER, then don't tattletale about every litte thing, but it still happens.

Kate - I'm really anxious to hear how hypnobirthing works for you. I'm afraid that when the pain starts all might go flying out the window for me even though I've had 2 deliveries with no drugs.

Anne - So good to "see" you! Wow, seems like you guys are moving ahead quickly. I'll be saying lots of prayers for you that you get a good egg! IUI could result in mulitiples right?

Hi Jen! Hi Trish! Hi Maggie! Hi Susan and everyone else!!

I've been doing pretty well this past week with my eating and working out. I'm starting to feel "normal" again. Okay, wait I did eat my oatmeal raisin cookies, but been opting for healthier food choices like veggie sandwiches and whole grain cereals which I must admit has been helping with the lovely pg constipation. I've been doing lots of walking this week along with pilates and ME. I think tomorrow I'll try the P90X+ Kenpo. Anyone here got P90X and/or P90X+? Anyway, I'm off to get some work done. I'm working from home this week and I love that I get to save on gas!

Lisa

RE: Check in

Kate--okay-bbl be back later--makes sense. I was thinking bye bye later, which did not...the hypno-birthing sounds fascinating. I'm going to google it when I'm done here.

Trish--thanks for the encouraging words. The rest of your post brought tears to my eyes. It's got to be so hard for everyone without the daddy around. And I'm sure it's hard for him to be so far from his family. (((hugs))) I'll continue praying for you and your family.

Melanie--I think you should get bloodwork done asap. But then again--the twin thing--I mean if the weight gain and tiredness are extreme--could be twins--but you've got so much on your plate, that if the doc can help that would be great. Maybe your aunt and uncle taking the house is the solution you've been waiting for?

Mikkia--please, dear, complain all you want--that's what we're here for. I don't get tired of hearing it. We all need to vent. Pregnancy can be (is!) difficult.

Lisa--glad you are feeling more normal--isn't that a great feeling? And gas is so outrageous that I find myself thinking "this trip will cost x number of dollars" something I never used to do. I'm sure the prices are really high in Hawaii.

Jen--good job on the school. When will you be done for good? or will you have continuing education indefinitely? My house is never clean and even when it's "clean and organized", that's just by my very loose standards...

Hi everyone else!

Oh and I've still all got you beat on weight gain, so there. Maybe when I've lost all the weight, I'll post pictures and you can see my stability ball belly in all it's pregnant glory. But only when and if (no, no ifs) I lose the weight.

Maggie:)

RE: Check in

I have been home from class for a few hours. These last 2 classes were great...get in, do our projects and leave. Works for me!

Maggie-I am taking courses to get my reading specialist certification. It's something that I was always interested in, and this graduate cohort just fell into my lap. I will be done for good next year at this time. I just have 4 more courses to go, and they are condensed into 8 weeks per course and 1 of them is a week long (that's the one I am taking in two weeks). I have a M.S. Ed, so after this certification, I don't think I will go back for anything else, but who knows. The great thing is that my school district reimburses me 100% for these courses, so it's a no-risk thing. I just have to promise to give them back a year of teaching and not quit-I have no problem with that.

O.K., I did Leslie Sansone 5 Mile Walk, and I couldn't stand it! To me, a girl who likes change every 2 seconds, it was so boring:-( . It's going back to Netflix tomorrow. I actually only did the first 4 miles, and the dread factor really kicked it so I turned it off.
That's just my opinion though, no offense if anyone here really likes her workouts. Any other workout suggestions?

My DH and I are getting back into The Office episodes now, so I am off to watch one or two from Season 2. That show is hilarious! And, it takes place in Scranton, PA, a place that I grew up around.

Good Night!
-Jen

RE: Check in

Lisa, I filled up my tank today for 3.93/gal and felt like I was getting away with something. Hard to believe the prices. In HS I filled up my little car for $10 and drove for 2 weeks! I've never done P90 WO's. Hope you enjoy it! Did you say oatmeal cookies? It's so hard to stop eating those darned things! Glad all is going well for you. I've had the same thoughts about hypno-birthing but I just try hard to put those thoughts out of my head and practically chant to myself that I can do it.

Maggie, I would love to see a pic of you (pg or not) and your brood - you inspire me!

Jen, Sorry about Leslie. I'll find out soon for myself.

Sleep tight everybody~!

RE: Check in

Thanks for the support ladies! I have to admit, I sometimes stay away from the boards, b/c it's hard for me to hear all the pregnancy talk sometimes. Please don't take offense, but not having kids yet, it gets hard especially when I have 4 ladies at work all pregnant too. It's tough when you want it so bad and it comes so hard and you see everyone else pregnant.

So, I'm trying really hard to be more positive and I really am happy for all of you and excited for the new little one's to come for you! I sooooo appreciate all of your support here.

Had a great workout tonight, did a little Kick, Punch, Crunch, but didn't do the abs at the end (shame on me!)

Susan - How young are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 38 and TTC #1 since 2006 with 3 m/c so far. Are you doing anything special to get preggers or 'au natural' right now. Are you having issues b/c of your age? I hope you're doing o.k., I saw something about a D&C...are you preggers then? Sorry, trying to catch up here.

Morris - Congrats on the weight loss already!

Hi Lisa - I've got P90X and was thinking of 'dusting' it off again soon. I do like a lot of those workouts. I think you should be careful and not over exert though o.k.? ;-)

Well, IUI, just puts the sperm directly into the uterus, so they don't have to travel that far. So it's really more to target the day I ovulate and help the sperm to be there at the right time.

The Clomid is what could cause me to drop multiple eggs (only like 5% chance though), so I'm really hoping for that. I'll know more next week, when I have the ultrasound to see how the eggs are shaping up. They measure them and can tell when I might ovulate based on the measurements.

Kate, Jen, Melanie, Maggie, Trish and anyone else I missed!...

Melanie - I would have a hard time waiting for an u/s too! Do you think you've got twins in there! Do they run in your family? You never know!

There's so many new people, I apologize for not getting to everyone for personals!

Anne~ ((hugs)) It sounds crazy that I understand where you are coming from since I have 3 kiddos, but when we were ttc our first we tried for a year and had just started the process of getting the infertility workup, I was supposed to ttc 2 more cycles then set up the dye test where they put it in your tubes.. I got preg. the cycle before I was to set that up. All my friends were preg. or had kids.. we were young too.. 21 so I just kept thinking why can't I get preg. I tried so hard to be excited for my friends that were all getting preg., but it is such deep desire that we have to have children.. it is understandable that it hurts to see it happening for everyone else.. I pray that it will happen soon for you. Are you doing the IUI and clomid this cycle?

So I have a small request for those that pray.. please pray for tomorrow.. we have a showing. The realtor called today at 4pm.. I was going to lay down to rest, but instead I had to go mow the gras.. blah.. she is showing it tomorrow at 10:30 so I got all the outside stuff done and my bathrooms cleaned good this evening. I will vacuum and dust tomorrow and do the last minute stuff.

I'll check in in the morning to catch up more.
