TTC/Preg Check in June 18th

Good morning ladies.

No workout for me again. :( I'm just way to exhausted with putting in 14 hour days. I've got these 60hr work weeks scheduled until end of July, I hope I can make it. We might have to give up the other house sooner if I can't keep up the hours needed to pay for it.

Nausea started kicking in pretty bad, which doesn't help. Here I thought maybe it was a girl. ;) I know it'd help if I could get up and workout--but just can't & feel like I need every drop of energy I can get.

My elliptical machine got pushed back AGAIN. Now it's the 26th. At this pointe I"m hoping it'll be here for my JULY birthday. Ha Ha. The delivery company's truck broke down I was told, and I suppose my elliptical isn't top priority. :) Someone out there just doesn't understand!!!!!!

Looks like it'll be high70s here in the Northwoods. It might even hit 80! I have capris on & hope I don't get cold.

Have a great day ladies. I'll check in later.

~Melanie~

Morning! I just woke up to a freak thunderstorm here. It hasn't rained in months so very very welcome! Still supposed to be 99.
Melanie-I am sorry you are sick to your stomach. I hope you feel better soon. I know how terrible that is. Working lots of hours is going to cut into your workouts, no doubt, just take it easy.
I am supposed to go to a birthday brunch this am at a sweet little bakery up in Fredericksburg. Problem is coffee smells so bad to me I don't think that I can do it. I am a rotten friend.
Ok for any of us that don't know the sex of our babies, does anyone want to hazard a guess? I was thinking about it last night and I think I am having a boy. the first heart rate we caught was 140, Just like DS. DD was always 155 0r 160, at the same gestational age(first US at 7-8 weeks) I am sicker with boys than girls in my experience and I have been sick! So there is my prediction. I guess I will find out 9 more weeks.
Hello to everyone to follow.

Melanie, I think I started the thread a couple minutes before you. Oh well - here's a cut/paste of my post. I'll put a note for everyone to post here.

How is everyone doing today? I am waking up earlier and earlier and I am NOT happy about it!

Payroll and errands for me this morning. Bible study tonight.
Hoping to do some Classical Stretch and/or Bar Method.

bbl...

Sorry about the long hours Melanie! Someone posted here that severe nausea was linked to a girl. Applied to me for sure! Good luck w/ the eliptical.

Mikkia - I love a good t'storm! Sounds like you have a good system down for guessing the sex! We can't wait to hear! Hope you figure out what to do about the brunch - sounds like fun.

Hey Ladies,
Not much going on here. Waiting for my body to get back to normal.
Still spotting...grrrrrrr.
Yesterday I did 4DS LIC/shoulders/back/chest. Today I did Kick Max.

I never once was queasy while pregnant and I had a girl! I think it’s an individual thing. My friend who just had her 4th (2boys2girsl) felt the same sickness wise for each. I really think its irrelevant.

Errands and chores today. My good friend and her dh and 2 kids are coming this weekend, so I have a lot to do!

Hope all you preggos are feeling good today!!!!!!

Hi Ladies!
I never got back for personals yesterday. I hope everyone had a good day!! Thanks for all of the sweet words! I feel really blessed.

Susan--I'm sorry you're still feeling bad. I hope that things start clearing up soon. ((Hugs))

Melanie--I'm sorry you've felt so nauseated. I hope it clears up soon. Remember, CARBS CARBS CARBS :) I hope your work schedule lets up soon. You need to rest!!

Mikkia--You are not a bad friend! I'm sure they'd rather you not come than to come and to hurl all over the place. :) As for the heartbeat, we thought sure we were having a girl. The baby's heart rate was high the first several 16 weeks, but then we found out at 20 weeks it DEFINITELY is a boy, and he's not shy to show it off. :) His heart rate is now within the boy range. He was just playing tricks on us. :)

Kate--Hope you have fun errand running today!!

So ladies, I found out yesterday that I had gained 12 POUNDS this past month. Yes, 12 pounds in ONE MONTH. I totally emotionally ate this past month worrying about the baby and being a bit down. I also didn't work out. So now I'm going to go back to my old way of eating and being much more healthy. AND I'm going to WORK OUT. Just thought I'd let you guys know so you could help kick my butt a bit. :) Thanks for all of your sweet words yesterday. It's so nice to have this forum to lean on. You guys are wonderful! :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Stephanie, carbs make me gain weight (which is probably why I'm getting spongy). You are hereby tagged accountable to us for your workouts!!!! FYI I gained 10-12lbs in one month of all my pregnancies. ;)

Susan, Sorry about the spotting. A constant bad reminder. ((hugs))

Stephanie, I'm sure you haven't gained 12 pound of FAT. The carbs are just bloating you. I bet if you keep them in check for a week you'll see 5 lbs fall off right away. I do know how discouraged you are though. (((hugs))) Now...GO WORKOUT!!!:)

stephanie you have ahd more important things to worry about and who cares about your weight? Just get back to healthier eating and you'll be fine. The important thing is being healthy for the baby!
I didn't go to the brunch. Why vomit in public when you can do it at work????
susan-I hope the spotting comes to an end soon.
I also hope everyone here is right about gender guessing. I really want a healthy baby boy or girl but secretly would LOVE to decorate a pink nursery again....and but cute cute matching outfits at gymboree!
Kate-At least you got payroll done, right? That's a big accomplishment(I know, I am doing that right now, or should be instead of posting this!)

Hey Kate and Stephanie!
I remember gaining 10 pound when I went for my first dr's visit..I was like OMG Im gonna gain 90 pounds! I gained right at 30. I was 140 went I went to the hospital and 118 when I got home.
Since we moved last August I have put on 10 pounds that I am now really trying to get off. My ideal feel good weight for me is about 115.

DD has been helping me clean. She is determined to earn money for this doll she wants. Its 149 bucks, but I told her if she did all her chores etc over the summer she could earn it. I never really played with dolls a whole lot as a kid I was always outside on my bike etc. She is a doll girl for sure.

Stephanie Im gonna ask you what workout you have done each day girl!!

Good Morning!

Melanie, you need your rest working all those hours. What kind of elliptical did you order? I got an Octane 4 yrs ago and also had problems with delivery. This pregnancy I was very sick and I never was with the first two. I thought it could be a girl but no. My doctor told me the older we get the stronger our hormones are.

Mikkia, I canceled more lunch dates with friends during my first trimester. I just couldn't handle the smells of certain places and all I could eat was malt o meal. Your friends will definitely forgive you.

Stephanie, don't worry about the weight. I always have a month that I gain a lot. It all evens out at the end. Go workout it will make you feel better.

Susan, sorry about the spotting. I really wanted a girl so I could buy dolls. I guess I will be sticking with trucks and power rangers.

Kate, busy day. Did you ever try your preggi bellies workout?

Hi Maggie, Jen, Lisa, Trish and Kristan. I hope I didn't forget anybody. Have a good day. I will check back later.

I am going to do a upper body workout today I am not sure which one yet. Then we are going to our friends house to swim and hang out. Her oldest daughter who is 11 wrecked on her quad the first weekend of summer. She broke her arm and seperated her shoulder from her collarbone. She had surgery last week and she can't move her arm for 6 weeks. She can't even put a shirt on, she is wearing a bikini top. So my friend is going crazy she has 4 kids and can't leave the house.

Candra

Candra--My doc did say that that month is always a big gainer for patients, and she knew I had been worried, and I snack when I'm worried. Can anyone say, "comfort food?" Have fun at your friend's house today. That's terrible about her daughter!!

Wonder where Trish is today??

Hi to Jen, Lisa and Kirstan too!

Thanks guys for the tough love! :) So far today, I had two cups of hot tea, a muffin (not exactly clean, but not exactly terrible) and a big bowl of strawberries, mandarin oranges and wheat germ on top. I'm getting ready to go to the store to stock up on veggies for my homemade minestrone (it's very yummy and VERY clean and best of all, can feed me for a week!). I told DS that we had to go stock up on healthy food today, and he said, "Why?" and I said, "because Mommy had gained a lot of pounds this past month." and he said, "I told you not to eat so much candy!" How funny! I never talk about weight around my kids and I hate that I said that today, but it slipped out. We usually just talk about eating healthily. I don't ever want them to worry about pounds. Anyway, I have Preggi Bellies planned for today and am going to up the weights a bit. We may also take a walk when DH gets home today.

OK ...I got it from Michael Chiarello on Food Network (well, not personally, of course), and I tweaked it a bit to be a little cleaner. He starts out the recipe by browning some pancetta, but I cut it out. It's kind of overpowering and it is not that healthy. So my recipe doesn't have it below...

Super Quick Minestrone Yields 8-10 servings (or less if you're like me and eat a BIG bowl)
1 cup tubetti pasta or other small pasta, cooked and drained and lightly tossed with olive oil
Extra-virgin olive oil
6 cups chicken stock (I use organic)
6 medium garlic cloves, sliced finely
2 cups finely chopped yellow onions (2 small onions)
1 cup small-diced celery (2 medium stalks)
1 cup small-diced carrots (I use the baby carrots because I find them easier to chop)
1 Tablespoon finely chopped rosemary or thyme leaves (I use thyme out of the garden)
1 (14-ounce) can of cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes (regular or fire roasted also are very good in this)
4 cups small-diced zucchini (5 small zucchini)
2 cups small-diced, peeled russet potatoes (1 large russet) OR I use 1 small russet and 1 small sweet potato
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup freshly grated parmesan (I use less. In fact, I just cut off a small cube of parm from the block and throw it into the pot and fish it out at the end. It infuses the stock with the flavor).

In a large saucepan over medium heat, warm the chicken stock.
In another large soup pot over medium heat, put 1/4 cup olive oil (or less if possible) and add the garlic. Cook the garlic until it just starts to brown (DO NOT BURN IT). Add the onions, celery and carrots. Cook until the veggies are soft (8 to 10 minutes), stirring occasionally to prevent browning. Add the chopped thyme. Raise the heat to high and add the beans, tomatoes, zucchini and potatoes. Add the chicken stock and bring to a boil. Then bring it down to a simmer and cook until the potatoes are tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Just a few minutes before serving, add the tubetti pasta.

Note: You can cook your pasta a day in advance an store in the fridge --just make sure you sprinkle some olive oil on it so it doesn't stick together.
The hardest part about this recipe is the chopping. But it's really great, and it freezes well. And, this may be TMI, but it promotes regularity. :)

Mikkia, I've never done a boy nursery. It just feels "in my blood" to do girly stuff. How big of a job is your payroll? We have 24 employees so it takes quite a while with all of the reimbursement stuff and lots of government reports for certain contracts that we have. I'd say 5 hours start to finish if I did it all at one time but I usually space it out over a few days.

Susan, I s it an American Girl? So far DDs think it's just a magazinr to look at! haha!!!

Candra, PB hasn't come yet. That's awful about your friend's daughter - give her a hug for us!

Enjoy your day Stephanie! A walk sounds great! I'm anxious to get my PB too. That recipe looks great - tx for posting it.

Good afternoon!! I just read the thread, but I'll have to come back and do personals. I was pricing yard sale stuff this morning then got my run in.. now it's about nap time. I need to read w/ Hunter and get the babies down then I'll be back for personals!
