Stephanie, let us know how the doctor's appt goes. I hope the cyst is gone. Do you already know sex of baby?

Kristan, you are almost there. You sound so active too. Have you taken any time off of work?

Trish, I haven’t run in a while. The weather has been icky & I just haven’t felt like it. Good thing I haven’t invested in a garmin!

Candra, Hypnobirthing isn’t for me either. Of course with c/s I don’t have a choice, but prior too I was very pro-epidurals. I can’t stand pain!

Mikkia, any more fire incidents in the house? Did you get the smell out? I’ve become very odor aware these days. The smell of gas or bengay makes me want to vomit. I had a guy come in pharmacy yesterday that must have bathed in Bengay. I seriously almost vomited, I had to talk to him! And his odor lingered! The gals I work with don’t know my condition, but I feel like I drop enough hints. They’re going to be really surprised. I wonder if people think I’m too old? Mikkia—did you ever do Strikezone?
No pool here in the Northwoods, I’m afraid the mosiquitos would be too bad. Ha Ha. We’re hoping to break 70 degrees.  It’s been a cool Spring for us up here.

Lisa, you sound super busy these days.

Jen, are you taking the summer of teaching then?

Hi Susan, &, Maggie & everyone else I’m sure I missed. It’s so hard to keep up with you gals! I’m glad I already “know” some of you. ;)

Wow! I am up and moving around early thanks to DS who woke me up at 5:30!!!!!!!!! It seems the later he goes to bed (lastnight was 9:00a.m.), the earlier he gets up. All I know is that when he is a teenager and wants to sleep in till 11 or noon, I will be right there waking him up at 5:30}( . Revenge...it's a sweet thing!

DH is going to the Yankee's game tomorrow, but it leaving today to spend time with his dad and brother. Kind of like a pre-Yankeee celebration, I guess. He is so excited! That was his father's day present.

I have to finish two big projects for my grad class on Thursday. The one is almost finished, but my partner needs to get back to me with her portion. Does anyone else cringe when they have to work with a partner on a project??? I can't stand it b/c I am very independent and don't like to rely on anyone. My thinking is I can do it myself.

Later, we plan to go to Hershey Park. I also would like to clean one of the spare rooms upstairs because it turned into a junk hole.

Kate-Silpada is a company, much like Mary Kay. Silpada is awesome sterling silver jewelry. I had a home show a few years back, earned about $300 in free jewelry. When the rep told me that she made the same in cash just for putting jewelry on a table (no song and dance), I was hooked. I've been selling it for almost 3 years, and I love it. If you want to satisfy your curiosity, you can visit my website:
http://www.mysilpada.com/jen.mariano
Mainly, I get loads of free jewelry and cash for extra spending money, and I like selling it. It's like my hobby job. Enough about that...
The pain in my abs has subsided. I think I just grew over the weekend and the pain was from that. But, I will keep my eye on it.

Melanie-Yes, I took the summer off of teaching. I have two more Thurs nights of grad school, a week off, then one week M-F 8-4 for my next course. Then, I don't have any more grad classes till the end of October. I will be done with my reading cert. courses at this time next year.
Sorry to hear about the Ben Gay man. I couldn't stand the smell of the school cafeteria's hot dogs and sauer kraut. My preg friend did throw up from it, but I came very close but I never did actually throw up. Hopefully, that ends for you soon. The weather in PA is more like your weather today (a high of 72), but I will take that over hot and humid!

Steph-I am hoping for a great U/S report!

Have an awesome day!

-Jen

Melanie, LOL about the Bengay guy!

Jen, Sorry for the early wakeup - I sympathize. Isabel was up at 6 after I had stayed up til midnight. I'm tired!!!! Nice present for DH! I hate partner stuff too - I'm too anal to share any responsibilities. Thanks for the link - pretty stuff! Glad the ab pain has left you - I hopeit doen't come back. I notice it more when I'm on my feet for a long time.

Stephanie, Fingers and toes crossed for you today!

Jen, I find that workign with a partner really slows me down. In pharmacy school they MADE us work with partners in an effort to make us more codependenet. As a rural pharmacist, I'm pretty much alone,...so my characteristic for being alone suits me just fine. :)
Plus, it takes so long to get to know another person's style of whatever it is you have to do together. Yuk! I"m glad I don't have to do that. My DH is a huge TWINS fan. YOu sound like you're really active with your "big city" life. :) :D

Kate, wow ,...not much sleep for you.

I did about 1/2 of my step workout and then I couldn't learn any more. I get "saturated" so fast early in the morning. It was easy to follow & fun. The music was more jazzy instead of upbeat (which I prefer). I do like Kelly Coffer as an alternative. I then did a little pilates. I weighed myself after I worked out and I'm up now about 5-lbs. I really need to slow down. My goal is under 10-lbs for 13 weeks. It seems like I'm never hungry but always munching. Urgh!!

Gotta head to work now. Chat later.

Melanie, What step did you do? I think the "saturated" thing happened to me with Strike Zone. I started it at 8pm and I think my brain wanted to be done. My weight isn't waht I want it to be right now either. I've gained 13 pounds, I'm 22.5 weeks. Seing that in writing I know it's pretty good but most if it has been in the last few weeks and I wanted to be less at this point. Mother Nature has different plans for me I guess!

good morning all! It will be another 98 day here in texas. I think its still 85 right now! I did crack and take the kids to the pool after dinner last night, which is nice because you don't have to worry about the sunburn, just the heat.
To continue about the microwave drama, I thought I would pass this along because never in a million years would I have ever thought this could happen. When I dicovered that it was the microwave on fire, I grabbed a couple of dish towels and grabbed the styrofoam cup out and ran like h#ll outside. It got so hot by then I dropped it on the edge of one of our stone columns on the front porch. It is a stone base with stucco beams that reach the ceiling of the front porch. Anyway, yesterday I went out to retreive the dish towels and found out that after I put it there it continued to burn, it caught the post on fire and it scorched the rock. There was one tiny piece of dish towel left. The styrofoam when I took it out of the house was about the size of a 2 in circumf. disk. The burn area outside is about 3 feet. I can't believe it. We are so luck that stucco doesn't like to burn. God was watching us for sure. So in summary, please don't ever microwave or catch on fire styrofoam.
Jen-when i was pregnant with ds I was finishing a grad class for my masters in nursing. I was due May 6, and wanted to get my project all done way before that, but my brain dead partner preferred to wait until the last minute. Lets just say it ended badly. Hope all works out for you! I love jewelry, what a fun hobby to have silpada parties.
Melanie- don't worry about not getting all the workouts in right now, you will. The smell of bengay would send me over the edge for sure. When I worked as a rn at the hospital with my first pregnancy, I threw up in pt rooms all of the time. the good news is there is always a bathroom in them. No I have't tried strikezone yet, though it should be here soon. good luck on your showing Thurs.
Kate-good morning, sorry you didn't get a good night of sleep, maybe a nap today?
Hi to everyone that follows!

Mikkia, That is HOT!!! I wanted to swim today but its only about 70 - too cold for me! YIKES on the styrofoam! I am so glad there was no more damage /no one was injured. WOW! ...I am definetly planning on a nap!

Good morning! I actually slept in till 8:15! I never do that. I woke at 7, but drifted back off. My older 2 get up and watch cartoons and Landon was awake when Igot up, but he wasn't crying so I didn't hear him. He was just playing in his crib. It felt so great to sleep today. I needed it. Something interesting happened yesterday. When I dropped Hunter off a karate one of the ladies at the fitness center asked me if I'd be interested in getting my pic taken for the paper and having a reporter call and interview me. I said sure. So I am going Thursday to get my pic taken w/ the owner of the gym. Then sometime this week the reporter is supposed to call me. They are doing an article on fitness when pregnant. I am so excited. Finally the word is getting out that it's okay to workout! I do get some strange looks when I am running at the trail.. lol I just want to scream at them that I am not hurting my baby it's safe to run when pregnant! Maybe this will help.

Stehpanie~thinking about you today and praying the u/s goes perfectly!

Melanie~yikes on the bengay.. I had major smell issues early on. I felt like a bloodhound. LOL Now it's subsided some. That sounds just awful.

Jen~hershey park sounds fun!!

Kate~13lbs is not bad! You are more than halfway there!

Mikkia~that is just so scary!! So glad nothing else caught fire!

Oh and for a heads up Gymbroee is having a 60% off sale and gymbucks right now.. now I am searching the site.. ahhhh not good. LOL

Trish, That is SO GREAT on your article! Let us know how to find it when its published. Why oh why did you have to tell me about the gymboree sale??!!?:7

Hi everyone--

Got the boys room cleaned and organized yesterday. I went through all of their clothes and will give the ones they've grown out of to some friends. My dh put up a huge industrial type shelving unit for me to get some of the bigger toys off the floor and started putting together the bunk-bed, which I'm having second thoughts over, knowing how my kiddos play. The room needs to be painted badly, but I'll only consider that when the rest of the house is clean and organized. I'm a woman on a mission.

Melanie--I'm due August 18 and I live on Portland Oregon, not Maine (for your cheat sheet). Also, I'm not being hard on myself re/the weight gain--I know I've gained over 50 lbs, even though I do not stand on the scale. I typically gain 65-70 lbs each pregnancy and with the exception of baby #4, I've lost the weight each time. So if all goes as planned, I should be a curvy size 6 next year at this time and since I think this is the last baby, I hope to enjoy being a size 6 for longer than 6 months:p.

Jen--I should have a sign on my forehead--"does not play well with others"... Seriously, I always hated group projects in college. I know what I want to do and the quality with which I want it done. I've never played team sports or had workout partners (with the exception of dh sometimes--but he's special). I'm neither a leader nor a follower, so tackling things with others is really hard for me. I hope your projects go well, however. I always did rise to the occasion when I had to do it and I'm sure you do to.

Kate--I read in open discussion that you were considering Leslie Sansone--please let us know how you like her. I've considered her too, as impact at this point is totally out of the question and with the stationary bike on the fritz, my options are limited:-(.

Mikkia--I'm glad that you only lost the microwave at your house as things could have been much worse, but your posts about your daughters kitchen projects cracked me up. I do so relate--having six kids, the stories I could tell. Plus my own crazy childhood, where my brother and I were largely unsupervised--It's by God's grace alone that we survived.

Trish--Give us a link to the article if it gets published. How flattering that they asked you!

Stephanie--I'm a political junkie too and was sad to hear of Tim Russert's death. Although he and I are at opposite ends of the political spectrum, I always liked that he was both tough and fair. I'm sad that he is gone--and so unexpectedly--his poor family.

Morris--saw you posted a few days back. It's good to hear from you. Sounds like you'll lose that weight in no time, even though you can't workout right now. Enjoy that sweet baby;-).

Hi everyone else! I'm being lazy today, but I'll try to check in later and see if anyone else posts.

take care all--
Maggie

Good Morning!

Melanie, I am glad you are liking Kelly Coffey. I have all of her workouts. Do you have NYC or Shape of things to come?

Trish, how cool on the article. You will have to share it with us. I got the e-mail from gymboree today I will have to check it out.

Mikkia, that is really scary about the fire. Good thing your porch wasn't made out of wood.

Jen, you can count me in on hating to work with partners. I struggle with letting the kids help with housework. I let them I just go and fix it later;-)

Stephanie, good luck at the doctor!

Kate, you must be tired. I can't go to sleep past 10p.m or I am a mess the next day. Good thing your girls take naps:)

Hello to everyone else!

I am going to do an iclimb on the elliptical. I have to make my workout fast b/c the boys have gymnastics this morning. I will check back later

Candra

Maggie, Great job on the cleaning! Feels so good! I ordered 2 Leslies this AM. I'll let you know. Someone posted a coupn code for deepdiscount.com. It's SUPERSALE. Not sure how long it lasts but I got 20% off their already low prices. Free shipping too. I'd never heard of this site before.

Candra. Good job getting your WO in. We have to sneak 'em in sometimes don't we?

DDs and I had a nice walk down our road this AM. Time for lunch now.

Hey guys,
I'm just popping in to let you know that I went to the doc today, and the cyst had disappeared!! :) I am so happy and relieved. I'll find out about the GD test later this week, but I'm not nearly as concerned about it. Baby boy looked really good. They estimate he weighs about 1.5 pounds so far. Thanks for all of the well-wishes!!!

I'll be back later for personals. I just wanted to let you know how the doc's visit went!! :)

Oh, Stephanie, you must feel like the weight of the world is lifted off your shoulders! Thanks for the report! Go celebrate! Maltballs maybe?!

Oh Stephanie! I'm so excited (I actually have tears in my eyes). On my way to work today---stressing about my house and everything---thinking about the things that are REALLY important in life---and said a prayer for you wee-one. THIS is what's important. I'm so excited for you. :D :D

Stephanie, I am so happy for you! Isn't great to see the baby and know they are ok.

Kate, do you still have the code for deep discount? I usually order from them twice a year when they have their sales. Let me know if you like the Leslie workouts. They might be great during the third trimester and after.

Maggie good for you and all your cleaning. I really need to go and organize the boys closets. This morning my oldest came out in pants, cowboy boots, t-shirt and a jean jacket. It is 103. Why can't my kids listen when I say shorts and flip flops?

The pool guy told me yesterday that I need to brush down the sides of the pool today. I might have more motivation if I could actually get in the pool but he said no swimming until Thurs. or Fri. My kids keep bugging me. I guess I will put on my bikini and work on a tan and upper body strength.

Candra

Candra, The code is SUPERSALE. Wish I had the kutzpah to wear a bikini right now. My stretch-marked belly (thank you, eledest daughter!) would send everyone in a 5-mile radius running for their lives!!! They've faded pretty well and when I have a flat tummy it's not *too* bad, but now that I've popped - YIKES!!!!:7
