TTC Check-In Sept 23

Cathlete
Happy Sunday ladies!! I read the last few posts on the other thread, but thought I'd start a new one.

Hi Jen! Sounds like we are all battling this off and on cold. I have a hard time with the CM and forget about the CP. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for with the CP. Autumn is the expert on CM. Right ladies?

Morris - How did your week end up? Sounds like things ended well!

Melanie - I would love to have an elliptical. We have a treadmill that I never use. I don't even use it when I go to the gym. It wasn't my purchase so oh well, but I say go for it with the elliptical!

Hi Autumn, Anne!

The end of this week will be the end of my 2ww. I should know by Sat. if I'm pg or not. Had a pretty productive day today with putting together the loft bed for my kids. I am having a pretty relaxing Sunday. I can't wait to get the new Cathe dvds. I hope it's not much longer. I'm getting kind of bored with my routines right now. Hope everyone has a great week!

Lisa

Hi Ladies!!!!!

Lisa, I am anxious to receive the new DVDs too. I act like a kid at Christmas when they arrive. I am blowing baby dust your way.

Morris, how are you doing? It is great AF visited!! Yay!

Melanie, we have a treadmill in the basement buried under piles of books and medical journals. I wonder if I'd like an elliptical. I just love my spinning bike but variety is good.

LOL! CM expert. I need a business card. ;-) Jen, I do know a little about CM so if you have questions feel free to ask. I can link you to an online site that IMO is very helpful with CM interpretation. Oh, and you can't gross me out... I am a nurse... and Women's Health NP... and I have two kids... one boy. ;)

Hi Anne!!

Well, I completed 3 workouts last week. I was LAAAZZZZZZZYYYYY!! I will do better this week. I am considering implementing Melanie's diet modifications to see how I respond. I may need further guidance Melanie. Do you eliminate food for 14 days per the SB diet guidelines?

DH should be home any minute... he did the grocery shopping for me.

TTYL.

Autumn

hi everyone!

well, my treadmill is essential when dh is gone. i hate/love it. i love to run, preiod, but i sure do miss being outdoors, even in below zero weather. i cannot imagine not having it, though, with as much as dh is gone. i'd still love an elliptical for variety.}( i too cannot wait for the new workouts. i keep thinking of geting some of cathe's old ones to tide me over, but i am holding back.

lisa, baby wishes coming your way - i hope this is your month.

autumn, hope this week goes how you want it too.

melanie, how is work these days?

jen, hope you ovulate soon.

hi anne!

my diet went seriously downhill today and i feel gross. too many snacks for sure - just couldn't stop munching. i am super motivated for tomorrow though. today is my third day of injections. i go for another scan on wednesday and hope to see some growing follicles!

hope everyone has a great start to the week

Autumn - I was like, "what! eliminate food!" - that's not for me! Because there are those detox diets where you just drink some mix and that's it for a week. I could never do that. I should seriously consider detoxing too.

Morris - I'm crossing my fingers that there are follicles growing and you're on your way to having your next baby! Snacking and periods go hand in hand. I'm so bad during that time.

Hi Melanie, Jen, and Anne!

I didn't work out yesterday because I was glued to my tv watching HEROES! I did work out on Sunday, but at a lost for what I should do this afternoon. I'm soooo hoping the new Cathe dvds will be shipped out soon. So 5 more days until testing. My temp is still up, kind of fluctuating, but still way past my coverline so we'll see. Have a great day ladies!

Lisa

lisa, i am praying for you!! do you usually get pms? hopefully that will stay away and it will be baby instead.

autumn, i too questioned the no food thing - i couldn't do that at all:)

today i did a long run and gym styles chest and tris. i know i will be sore tomorrow, but it felt great!

all this talk of detoxing will hopefully keep me motivated today. it is just after lunch and i have done really well with portions, food choices, and snacks. ds and i are heading out for a bit, so, hopefully this good trend will continue!!

Hi ladies, did I mention that I worked out ONE time last week? Ouch! This is why I'm in dire need of adjusting my eating habits...as I haven't been able to keep up with my workouts. I'm thinking that if I got an elliptical machine I could zone out on it for 30 minutes/day if anything else!

The SB diet does recommend eliminating all fruits and fruit juices for 1st 14 days. It really did work, I had no/little sugar cravings by 2-3rd day. The philosophy is that your insulin levels spike with fructose, just like candy. It really wasn't that bad. I had a big healthy salad for lunch everyday, and lots and lots of veggies (which I love anyway). I had the most awesome bowel movements during this diet too (I know, sounds gross); however I went once a day and you could just tell they were healthy consistencies b/c of all the healthy fibers and such.

I lost my detox book. :( I will have to remotivate. Okay ladies, I will hop on board October 1st. Anyone with me? I even got some Crave-Curb tablets to help with my cravings (esp MD and dark chocolate).

Thanks to those who have asked about my work environment. I like my job, but it's far. In October I will start working 3-10 hr day weeks alternating 4-10hr day weeks. My ultimate goal is to work just 3 days weekly, but I just can't swing it until my other house sells. During my 3 day weeks, I will supplement with working shorter shifts in my hometown. The hometown pharmacist says he'll be set to talk about "re-negotations" by end of next year. In short, I'm at this job at least until next December (I get two more HUGE bonuses if I hang out this long). I also hope to get a paid maternity leave by then. Okay, you guys asked for details!!!!!!

Better get going, before I start CHAPTER TWO!!!!

:D :D

what are crave-curb tablets??? sound too good to be true!

mel, i hope the house sells quickly. that is so stressful i imagine!
the renegotiations sound promising though. the elliptical sounds like a great thing for you. it will certainly help with stress, and zoning out for 30 minutes will be welcome i am sure:)

keep us posted.

Hi ladies,
Sorry to be so short, but trying to get a lot of work done at the 2nd job and not obsess about TTC so much. I'm getting really stressed out from it and need to chill. Thinking about getting DH Varicose vein taken care of, but need to find out more about the surgery and the risks. May consider going on Clomid myself to speed up the process and maybe IUI in Jan, when we change insurance.

Lisa - Praying your temps stay up there!

Hi Morris - Anything new?

Melanie - Hope you can get your work hours down after the house sells, so you can have some time to relax!

Chat soon,
Anne

>>Autumn - I was like, "what! eliminate food!" - that's not for me! >>Because there are those detox diets where you just drink some mix >>and that's it for a week. I could never do that. I should >>seriously consider detoxing too.

I was LOL when I read my post. I plead blonde moment, which I am blonde... at least I think I am. ;) Only my stylist knows at this time.

Only 5 more days... keeping my fingers crossed.

>>autumn, i too questioned the no food thing - i couldn't do that at >>all:)

Oh dear, me either. I become cranky when I don't eat }( ... everyone knows to feed me. :9

Anne,

It so difficult not to obsess. Do you have a support group by chance? The clinic I went had a support group. I never attended because I thought it would make me more stressed. My mom had been through infertility so she was my major support. Poor DH tried but men and women... well you know.

Prayers for you and DH!

Autumn

I just had to let you ladies know that you crack me up and it's so nice to come home after a long day and read everyone's posts!

Melanie - Are you renting out your other home or just trying to sell it?

Morris - How did the rest of the day go? Awesome job with the workout! I took a walk with my dog and ds this afternoon and I was hoping to work out more, but I'm feeling tired. I'll squeeze in something though.

Anne - Hi there! I know what you mean about the obsessing. I knew I was obsessing when I was thinking about how I couldn't temp while on vacation if I don't get pg before then and how lost I would feel! Isn't that crazy? Is DH's veins that bad that he needs surgery? I hear so much about clomid, but not sure what it does? What does it do?

Okay so I better get going if I want to squeeze in a workout before I start snoozing. I bought a bunch of healthy food tonight and hope I can stick to eating well. I did buy fruits though because it's my way of splurging without so much of the guilt!

Lisa

Our home is officially off the market. We will winterize it and lock it up for winter. It would cost too much to heat it, then worry about shoveling it out for people to look at. We're 5hrs away from it. We'll put it up on the market again early March.

Until then, it's just another payment. Huhmmmm. The good news is that we're on the last 4 years of the mortgage so 90% of payment goes toward equity of home...which we'll get back when it sells. The home equity loan we used to launch ourselves into the new home is what hurts. Oh well, it's nice to know that God is in control and knows what He's doing (otherwise I"d be super stressed)!!!

Thanks for your support.

AF is officially over. 4 day periods are nice.

hi guys

lisa, i second what you said - it is so nice to pop online and see what everyone is up too, especially on my lonely days.

hi anne - sorry you are stressing. i definately know what it is like to stress and obsess. and it does not make anything better, for sure. i find it so hard to make my brain do what i want it to!have you taken clomid before? perhaps that would help you just relax a bit more about ttc.

hi lisa - i need to go shopping for fruits and veggies today at some point. eating ended up great yesterday, and i am feeling pretty good about today. what workout did you end up doing? i did gym style legs today. i love that one.

hi melanie - once again, i find it so soothing to read your posts. it is important to step back and remember that we do not always have control over things, and sometimes it is such a blessing to leave things in god's hands. btw, what are crave curb tabs??

hi autumn - i'll try not to take the blond thing personally;-) ;-)

i had another us today and my follicles are growing. now the question will be, does dh get home on time?? i think i am only on day 6 though, so we have a while:)

The mysterious Crave-Curb capsules are taken about 1hr prior to meals...or prior to your "high carb eating periods". So, I often munch after 3pm, so I plan to take 2 caps at 2pm, and again at 5pm.

These are the ingredients:
Vit B6
Chromium Picolinate (to help curb carb cravings, helps diabetes)
Vit C
Folic Acid (nice for all of us TCC)
Magnesium Citrate
Amino Acids: phyenylalanine, glutamine, tyrosine, tryptophan
Rhodiola rosea (natural supplement hypothesized to release chemicals that are similiar to those released when we eat carbs)

I've tried chromium piconinate before for cravings, didn't seem to help much. This "rhodiola rosea" herb might be beneficial. I've read some promising things. The other vitamins & amino acids won't help so much with cravings, but are a nice addition.

I'll let you know if it helps. As a healthcare professional, I get this particular brand at a deep discount, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Morris, thanks for your kinds words. What a nice homewarming gift to give a husband, a "ready to go" woman waiting at the door for him! Ha!Ha! Isn't TCC just wonderful?!?

Lisa, how's your temps going? Do you have that Taking Charge of your Fertility book?

Anne, have you tried Clomid before? How's your recovery coming along?

Autumn, how's your little girl doing? It's hard to believe Justin is so big already...I can remember like yesterday being pg with him! He's starting to look and act so grown up!

Greetings to everyone. I think I may be joining you, but I am still a little on the fence about TTC again. I have 3 kids, who are almost 7,5 and 2. I am 36. I always thought I wanted 4 kids, but it seems like an overwhelming propostion at this time. I went off BC a few months ago and it would seem my cycle is back on track (it's only 24 days long).

I'll check in as I give this more thought.

Hi Kristan! I was just like you about TTC#3, but after having a m/c w/ a oops #3 pg, I wanted another so bad. I did wait and make sure I wasn't being emotional and went back on the fence, but as I realized I was getting older and knowing I wanted at least 3 kids, we decided to just go for it and see what happens. We've been trying since Jan. of this year. I have a 8 and 5 year old also. Looking forward to seeing you post!

Morris - I hope DH gets back in time to fertilize your egg/eggs!

Melanie - How much does a bottle of one those normally cost? It always floors me to see how expensive supplements can be. That's probably another reason why I stay away from them. DH buys a lot of supplements and it's always so darn expensive.

Autumn - Are you still doing your kb workouts?

I better get the kids up and ready for the day. My temps are still up so I'm hoping this is my month. I'm planning on testing over the weekend so I'll keep you guys updated. I did not workout yesterday which I should have since my boss has been stressing me out. I'm going to do a workout today, but not sure what. I can't wait for the new Cathe dvds then I would know what I would be doing!

Lisa

lisa, how do you feel??? tender? cranky? anything? my fingers are crossed!

kristan, welcome! i hope you do ttc with us here.

melanie, do you ever worry about those supplements, esp if ttc or pregnant, b/c they are not really regulated? just curious.

i am having a very stressed day. no break to walk the dog at lunch either. but, i suppose i can survive one day like this. good news is dh is on his way home. hopefully by sunday he'll be back!!!
