Trying To Fit Yoga In for Wed July 4

I ended up doing Jillian's Maximize Backside two times thru. I also added on Rapid Results Pilates, Waist Slimmer. Workout was 1 hour and 5 minutes and I burned 300 calories. I am not feeling myself yesterday and today and had a tough time working out both days. Might be coming down with something or maye just having a couple off days.

I also did Ravi & Ana's Basics - Rise and Spine Set 25".

Went for my sinus followup appt yesterday. I have to see him every 3 months forever! That will go over well when I get a job! yea, right!

Have a great 4th everyone. As mentioned above w're going to a huge family picnic at my DH' families. Lots of icky greasy junk food!!! yuk. We're taking rigatoni with marinara sauce, so I got a special side order of wheat pasta with marina for myself......and of course the DH had to get mad about my special order. Why can't I eat white like everyone else??


Sorry about not starting the thread the last couple days. As mentioned above - I'm not feeling that well lately. Feeling really drained and tired and achy.

Hi Lora! Sorry you have not been feeling well. If you need a rest, take it, as you very much deserve it for all your hard work and just what you have been through emotionally in the past month or so. It's no problem about the thread. I am just glad you are doing okay! :) I would have started it, but I wasn't sure whether you were still interested in keeping it going, since our group has remained pretty small. If you needed a break, we certainly understand. I hope you enjoy your family gathering today. I don't think a pasta substitution is a big deal in the whole scheme of things... hope your DH gets over it...you've been together too long to make that an issue or a reason to ruin a nice holiday get together.

Let's see, it's been a few days, so I am not sure what I last reported workout-wise. I finally did Shape Dance your Way Slim and did not connect with it very much at all. I really loved the production quality and scenery and I still like Kimberly, but I enjoy routines build up to a final choreographed dance and this just seems to go without rhyme or reason (albeit smoothly). I think this workout is the equivalent of a Yoga Booty Ballet, except I sweat more with YBB and YBB has a much bigger fun factor. I did like the setting better than YBB. I wish YBB had gone back to the outdoor productions they used to have versus their newer studio stuff. Yesterday, I went off my rotation and I did Power Hour and then brisk walked for 20 minutes. My body was telling me it wanted an all weights workout versus circuits. I am really getting into the walking thing now too, just for something different. I really, really felt the walking in all the right places after the weight work from PH. I haven't done PH in at least 6 months and forgot how much I like it-it's definitely one of my faves. I am trying to get in slightly better shape to feel okay about meeting up with the "Atlanta Cathes" on July 29th. I previewed Amy Bento's Cardio Pump Hi-Lo last night. Looks very tough. What do you think of that one, Lora?

Have a Happy 4th! :) I was watching the Peachtree Road Race and tearing up this morning. It is so nice to see people of all ages and backgrounds just out having a good time. I also can really appreciate their dedication!

Glad to hear that you think you'll like the circuit. I feel bad cuz you never said anything about Xflowsion. My DH is being a bear cuz he's got a cold and you know how they can be when they don't feel well. I just got done eating some Kashi Go Lean, Swiss Cheese and yogurt.....cuz we never eat on time when we go to his families......watch...now that I ate, they'll probably have everything ready by miracle.

I love Amy Bento...but I think some of her shorter circuits (like 40"-45") are a bit short and I like to add an extra set of weights on usually. Amy is my 2nd favorite instructor to Cathe. I think she has an awesome physique also and she's super friendly and down to earth via email. She's an amazing person. Works a full time job, does fitness stuff on the side, teaches classes in the evenings and is a Nutrionist also. She's really something else! Her forte is hi/lo aerobics. She's really good at it.......just like Tracey Staehle's forte is core/ab work. She rocks when it comes to the core work!

Well, I better go get ready to leave. I hate going to these gatherings cuz we have to stay forever! I guess I'm antisocial! LOL.

ETA: I'm bummed that you didn't like that Dance video with Kimberly....cuz I already bought it! Oh well, I'm sure I'll have a small pile to go on Ebay when I finally get thru my box of newer stuff. I'll probably dislike more than 1.
 
OK, back again. Went walking for 1 hour 36 minutes today. It was very HOT! I should have taken some water with me. I walked in a neighborhood next to mine that is huge. It was interesting to see all the different houses and the way people have landscaped their yards. I walked the whole way, but there were a couple of very steep hills, so my heart rate went up quite a bit in places. I played on the computer this morning and added two more music mixes to my ipod, so I had good tunes to keep me company! :p

Sorry I have not said more about Xflowsion! I previewed it and I think I will really like it once I do it! I am just not feeling the yoga vibe at all right now. I am so focused on cardio and weights. If I had more time, I would add in more Pilates. I am not burnt out on it per se-just busy doing other types of workouts right now. I was considering a cardio/yoga/pilates rotation, but I think I may want to lift heavy again before that. Lora, you may end up liking that Self workout, it just wasn't for me. It is pretty easy to follow and you are more dancy than I am, so you probably can even kick it up a notch! I try, I really do but I know my limits and should probably stick to more athletic type workouts. There are just some times during Cathe's step that I feel like I am really dancing and it is so fun that I think I will like other dance workouts-but it just doesn't happen that way.

Jen - I don't really think Cathe's step is dancy at all! You'd probably cringe at Rebecca Small or some of the Evolution instructors I've done.....Marc Oliver Kluike's Dance Step to name one and Rebecca .......now, they're dancy! Don't you even like Salsa dancing....Latin dancing? I love to salsa dance..........I can really shake it....and believe it or not, the more you shake it, the higher your heart rate gets. Do you have the YBB Live Latin one? I think Latin Dances - Salsa, Meringue, Cha Cha, etc. are the easiest to learn also.
Are your dog's gonna flip out tonight hearing all of the big bangs? This is Brookie's first 4th of July and I already see her ears pinning back when she hears a firecracker. I hate when my babies get scared.

I was a bad girl at the picnic. I had wheat pasta and bean salad for food, but then I had cookies and Dirt! Have you ever eaten Dirt? It's a really decadent dessert. It's oreo cookies smooshed up with a cool whip/vanilla pudding concoction. Really good...but rich! I ate way too much too! Better do some hardcore aerobics tomorrow morning. I'm going to try to fall asleep early so I can get up early to workout hard. I hope I get over this drained feeling so I can do a cardio coach workout.

That's a long walk you went on. That's great.

Guess what? We had a bid on our house already, but they low balled the crap out of us. $10,000 less than our asking price and since it's just been on the market a week, of course, we aren't accepting it. We've had several people going thru though. It's getting a lot of action.
 
Yep, I have the YBB Latin one, and of course it's my favorite because it was the easiest to learn. I know Cathe's step is not as dancy as others out there, and I would definitely freak out on those. I just like all the mambos and cha-chas she puts in, it's the most complicated choreography I have ever done to this point. I have gotten better at it now, so I can "make it my own" and it feels a little less like working out sometimes.

Good luck with getting to sleep early tonight! I tried to go to bed early on Monday and there was a fireworks display going on somewhere close by! I was like what the he((....it's a work night! I hope it is quiet where you are...or that you are a heavy sleeper! LOL! :)

That is such good news about the house and the attention it is getting from potential buyers. You and your DH have worked hard on it...good for you for not taking those lowball offers! :) :) :)
