Trying to Fit Yoga in for Wed Feb 21

Morning Yogini's -

This morning I did P90 Masters Sculpt 5-6. I used heavy weights and thought I was gonna do lower reg range, but it seems I've gotten a bit stronger, so this workout was in the 8-12 rep range. I like to do this with 6-8 reps, as heavy as I can and run in between exercises for added cardio benefit. This used to get me sore the day after, but now I'm not sure I will be. I also did 25 minutes of Tae Bo Amped - Super Charged Fat Burner (liked this one or I'm getting past the learning curve with the bar) and the 10 minute blast from Lotte Berk Essentials, as well as David Kirsch's One on One Abdominals (13"). Total workout was just shy of 1 hour 50" and I burned 540 calories. I also did Yoga for Tennis Elbow & Bad Knees (35").

This yoga DVD is just so/so. I like the beach.....don't care for the instructor, Anastasia. I just needed the beach this morning and a short practice.

I'm a bit late checking in this morning, as I had to put makeup on. I'm supposed to be going for a 2nd interview somewhere, but they are calling me to tell me what time later this AM.

Has everyone heard that Debbie Siebers is coming out with Slim Series Express in the next month or so? This is good....as I don't always have time to do the 90 minute tapes in that series.

Has anyone ever tried any of the Itrains? A fellow VFer was kind enough to burn some of her MP3's to CD for me....and sent me 4 to try. I thought they'd be something different for the legs. They're supposed to be the best ballet workouts out there, so I guess I'll find out.

I got my Mindy Preorder yesterday. All Systems Go looks crazy hard. I think Mindy turned Psycho. I have to preview it to see how to modify some of the shoulder work since they use a body bar and do lots of military presses (and I'm not allowed to do those). She doesn't stop in this one......like Drill Max and it's got lots of higher impact moves.

Jen - what yoga DVDs do you have? I answered all of your other questions over at Hardcore......although I don't think the maniacs appreciate my "books" over there like you do!! :7

Just got the call.........my interview is at 1:30 pm. They wanted me to come and 5:30 and I asked if I could come earlier (bold me!!) as 5:30 is late for me!! I get up at 2:30 for goodness sake !

Have a great day everyone.

Lora-Just checked my Netflix and YBB is finally freed up and on it's way! Exciting!!!! :) Re: The interview...YAY!!! Knock 'em dead! (Do people say this anymore?)

Back to work!

Hi Lora and Jen,

I'll be doing either a yoga or a stretch from P90X. Haven't decided yet, as I need it soooooooo much. Can't wait, but I need some hours between my workouts. It just works better that way for my body.

Lora, Please let us know the minute you had your interview, and what they say. All my positive energy is towards you. Good Luck!

Janie

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Well ladies - here's the dirt! I went to that interview thinking "oh this doctor's probably gonna be a jerk ......and then the sucky hours and overtime won't matter"........Well - I almost dropped over when the Administrator led me into the doctor's office and he was very young, tall, dark and handsome. I'm so fair skinned and I'm sure I probably turned beet red!! Then I fumbled (seriously - I'm a dufus) to shake his hand and dropped my notebook on the floor! Good going Lora.....don't let the nerve's get the best of you. I wasn't even sure I could form a sentence in front of him, let alone work for him. Then he said "how are you".....and I said "nervous" and he says.....don't be nervous in this kind, gentle voice! Turns out he was soooooooooooo nice and seems like a great guy to work for. He's not been in practice long. He's still "wet behind the ears" ...........(LOL....just half kidding....from the ol' lady here). He's super organized and American ....so his transcription would be easy to understand and he said he talks slow.

I asked him tons of questions. I think he was taken aback with my forwardness....but hey, I've been around the block and I know the ropes. I went into so much detail that I asked him exactly what procedures he does (all of them) and how many different tests, etc. there would be to learn, how many patients he sees a day...etc. He was showing me his charts (out of his emmaculately organized office and neat stacks......my kinda guy) and he was explaining how he does things. He's so organized and really seems like he communicates with his secretary well. That's the good part.

The bad part is that since I do everything for him, that includes staying to followup on things after patients are gone.......and since he admitted to being a bit slow .....he is usually there late on patient days. The good part, patient days are only twice a week.

So that's basically it. Don't know what they thought about me or all my questions. When I finished up with the doctor, and went into the Adminstrators Office.....he said.....I didn't think you'd be in there that long. I told him I ask lots of questions :). Anyway, he said they'd be making a decision by the end of the week. It's between me and someone that's coming back tomorrow for the 2nd interview. I told him I have the interview on Tues and would really like to weigh all of my options before I would decide. He said he understood, and then he showed me a letter that he just got from the Hospital that is probably going to offer me that job, and here -- it's a letter from the Board of the Hospital stating that 'said organization - insert name here' is splitting 3 ways and selling it off...........so -- it looks like they are going to go under.....question is -- when? I don't really want to be out of a job with 2500 others all looking in the medical field.

The one thing I did think of .....if the hospital job is offered, I can ask the doctor to give me something in writing that says if the hospital goes down, he would absorb be into his private practice and give me a full time job there. It's a thought.

So - what does everyone here think so far.......without the Coca Cola info?

ETA: Sorry for the book - forgot to add that the doctor's secretary is so busy that his current secretary has to take work home, but it's NOT required.

Should have also mentioned.....it's a Cardiology Practice with 10 doctors. They have one office on one side of town and another in the suburb where I live. I would spend one day at the suburb office. They have 56 employees......so it's a pretty big practice. Good benefits also...pay is only so/so. Less than what I made before.

Janie - That's the thing - my gut is saying ALL kinds of things to me. I guess I'll have to wait and see what I end up getting offered and take it from there. I can only pray God will guide me the right way.

Jen - I IMMEDIATELY thought of you when I saw these. These look so good......OMG.....gonna need more money soon. I have to have these when they come out and I'm sure you'll say the same thing. They look like Advanced Budokon with some really hot dude with tattoos (right up my alley) teaching them. I like his "rugged" background also.......as I can relate. ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......couple weeks they'll be ready

ETA: Everyone's gonna have so much money when I go back to work and don't have time to find these goodies on the computer any more!!

Hi Yoginis! Tonight's WO was actually Yoga! I did Inhale yoga w/ Steve Ross and followed it with I Want Those Abs w/ Tamilee Webb. DH worked out with me-just the yoga. His back is finally feeling much better! :)

Lora-Slim Series Express sounds really good. I hadn't read enough about the original-I didn't know they were 90 minutes, sheesh! Do you like Debbie's teaching style? Never tried the iTrains, but it seems like there have been good things posted about them in the Open Discussion board. Psycho Mindy sounds good-can't wait to hear your review! How does P90 Masters compare to X? Is it harder? It sounds like your interviews are going well and you will have several offers to choose from. Kudos! I can be of no help except to comment that I have always wondered what it would be like to work for a large, international company like Coca-Cola. The benefits must be out of this world! So, I guess it really depends on what you want at this point. Try to figure out what's most important to you salary, benefits, work environment, flex hours, good boss, etc. and pick the job that has the most in common with what you are looking for. Maybe doing a little Kundalini on the side would give you some additional insight!!!! :) I went to that link...that WO looks good! The "leader" guy seems like he might be a little cheesy...at least he's kinda' cute to make up for it.

Janie-Enjoy your yoga!

Hi to all that follow! How was your day?

Jen

Hi Ladies,

Today's workout was pilates matwork.

Lora - your reaction over the dark, handsome potential boss was funny. It sounds though like he would be a great person to work for...the fact that he is super organized and neat - the fact that he seems perfectionistic and meticulous. I think you impressed him with all your questions. It is also a a good thing that he showed you the letter from the hospital.
Being a Canadian - I have no insight on the private health care sector - however i don't think it would hurt to ask the doc that if in the event of a bkrpy - he'd absorb you in his practice. That is a good idea. I think in choosing a job - the soft benefits are almost as important as the monetary compensation. To work for good people - who understand you - and also work in such a way that respects your work also - is a big plus.

Jen - Glad to hear your DH's back is doing better. I have the Tamilee dvd also... she is so cute. Pls let us know what you think of ybb. I have been eyeing that one - but b/w the new Cathes and a bunch of yoga dvds that I bought around Christmas time - I feel guilty buying more....I have added so many dvds to my collection - I am thinking of buying a small bookshelf to store them!
My day was a busy one. My busy season is beginning - and so I am feeling a bit tired tonight...the pilates after work hit the spot. I have been struggling a bit with insomnia and its beginning to get to me physically...I go to bed at night hoping that I can stay asleep for at least 6 hrs. I have never gone thru such a long stretch of it before - and can't wait for it to go away.

Janie - I hope you enjoy your yoga stretch. BTW - I read your profile - and what an interesting hobby you have in soapmaking. What sorts of soaps do you make - and what is involved?

Hi to Meg and Kel.

Hope you all have a nice night.
Yve
