Trying To Fit Yoga In for Tues Feb 6

Morning Fellow Yogi's -

This morning I did Cardio Coach 1 on the Treadmill followed by CIA Criss Cross Cardio (this has become my favorite kickboxing workout lately). I also did about 10 minutes of the Capoiera leg work on the CIA DVD and then I added on Lotte Berk's Essential Blast (10" blast). Total workout was 1 hour and 50 minutes and I burned 740 calories. I then did Yoga Synthesis - Gentle Yoga - Sukha Vinyasa 55". I happened to leave my HR monitor on during the yoga and when I took the set mode off - my calorie burn was 1086. I sometimes leave it on during yoga and this is the first time it ever hit the 1000 mark. Guess there's something to be said for after burn!

I also did an Iyengar yoga routine 20" yesterday for the neck and shoulders and then in the evening I did Yoga for Stress Relief with Barbara Benagh....Mood Uplift premix since I was so depressed.

My body is feeling pretty sore all over. That Tae Bo with the bar really works your core and back, legs etc. My legs are toasty as could be today. My hamstrings seem to get super tight from running...so tomorrow I'll do a yoga focused on hamstrings, and I'll probably have to do my sciatica yoga premix.

Brr - it's again below zero here with a Wind Chill advisory in effect until 1:00 pm! This weather can leave any time!!

Jen - I think you should rent the YBB workouts first. Which ones do they have on Netflix? I think my fave's are Hip Hop Abs and Cardio Burlesque. I'm glad you're starting to get into Turbo Jam. That's why I like them so much....cuz they're fun! I like the music too. Do you have Cardio Party I? and if so, is that the one with the Capoiera cool down segment? I love Capoiera lately. I can't remember if Cardio Party I or II is the one with that cool down.

As far as comparing Billy's new workouts with Flex or the other one you mentioned....I don't have the one you mention and I had a Flex one that I got rid of. It moved to slowly to get my HR up cuz of all the single timed moves with the flexing. I would say these new ones also move a bit too slow for me...but the bar makes it work your body differently and if I double time some of the slower moves and jog or toe tap with the weighted segment, I get a much better workout. I'd also add heavier weights to some of the sculpting segments to make it better if I was really doing it on a weighted day. I just like Billy and like to have him around for variety.

Have great a great day everyone. I've got to eat breakfast and get my shower. I'll be around.

Finished WO. Although my WO was 90 min, I still feel a tad underworked? Meaning, I think I should have done a little more cardio. That's alright though.
I did Tracey Staehles (I know I spell her name wrong all the time) Kickbox challenge and full body sculpt. The DVD says 90 min, but I skipped the kickbox cooldown, and the second warm up, so it was 75min, then I did 15 min of yoga, just basic movves from Fitness mag.
The sculpt was good, great hamstring and outer thigh work, really burned. I used 8# instead of her 5#. The shoulder work was real good. I though it lacked a little bicep, so I did extra curls. It could use more ab, but the planks were good. It is a good one for a full body work.

The yoga was a section in Fitness mag this month. Basically it was the sun salutation series, (mountain, foward bend, fd bend flat back, downward dog), then it added table top to half push-up to child pose, lunge jumps, some warriors, then chair with twist, in that order. Just a little extra stretching, and it was a good way to end a WO.

I am planning on a yoga DVD order hopefully this weekend. I know I want more Rainbeau, Jennifer Kries, and what else is a must have? Shiva Rae?

Hi ladies! Tonight's WO was Turbo Jam Cardio Party Mix # 2 and Ab Jam. Still no Jari Love in the mail! It was not available at the local Netflix shipping facility, so I think it's coming from Maryland or something, which may account for the delay. DH's back is getting better but still not 100%, so I am still WO solo. He is improving but probably should rest another week. That's okay-I am able to indulge the cardio side for now, since it will be back to heavy weights again when he is better.

Lora-Wow! Sounds like the Amped is worth it-a good one for mix-it-up variety that we all need. I am not sure which YBB Netflix has-it looks like 2 series discs w/ 3 CDs each. Looks like the earliest stuff they put out. I think I will rent it first. I am definately going to buy more Turbo Jam's though. Probably have to wait until next month for the extra money to do so x(. I really have enjoyed the Ravi and Ana's this week too-this is the first time I have done them and would like to get Yoga Bliss Hips and a couple of the others I don't have. How often do they come out with WOs? Anything on the horizon for them? Hope you are still doing okay-no adverse effects from your tumble!

Megadoo-I vote for Shiva!!!! :) :) :) :) Nice yoga add-on from Fitness Magazine-I get that, too! Not sure which Jari is coming. I think it's her first one-which is just Ripped, I think. Sounds like you are back to your normal WOs this week...hope that means you are feeling well. Did your walking WO partner abandon you altogether or do you plan to do some walking this week, too?

Hi to Tammy, Kel and Janie! :) Hope you had a great day and great WOs!

Jen
