Morning Yogini's-

This morning I did Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing this morning Cardio & Combat Intervals. Used my 8 pound bar for the combat segments. Workout was 68" and my HRM states I burned 543 calories...but I'm having my DH double check my settings.....cuz that's sounds high to me. I did get my resting HR set at my lower normal rate of 56, but I'm having him check the weight and gender settings though.

I also did Ravi & Ana's Dancin The Chakras - Yoga section only 30" and then Yoga Dharma for Stress 20". I really wanted to do one of my new 90 minute ones...but I shut my alarm off this morning and didn't get up until 4:20!!! yikes.

I was previewing Shiva's Yoga Journal Great Instructor DVD last night and I'm not sure I'm going to like it. First off....I was really interested in seeing her in a live class setting since none of her DVDs are in that setting. It was refreshing to see her and Seane on these videos and see that they have "normal" bodies and carry some womanly curves.......making me feel a little better about my distorted body image. Shiva didn't appear as thin as she does on the other videos I have. Don't get me wrong, she still looks great, but she looks more muscular and curvy in general. I've never seen Seane in another video but she also appears to be curvy in the video. Anyway, Shiva's DVD looked "out there" from the preview. She does a lot of her "different" style of fluid yoga making it harder to follow...but since it's a live class...she does interact with the class and make sure everyone gets what she's doing. She has some "free form flowing" segments in there ....like Trance Dance and I'm not sure about that. It didn't seem to have many finishing postures....so I guess I'll see how I like it when I do it. Hers is the only video I could hear some music playing in the background.....didn't hear any on the other ones.

Speaking of Seane Corn....I kinda like her. What DVD would you guys suggest for me to buy by her?

I meant to mention that the book I was telling everyone about yesterday, she even pyarmids weights in some weeks. I thought that was good.

Unicor Poo is back in at Villainess in limited quantities if anyone wants to try the marshmallow cream soap. I love marshmallow!! www.Villainess.net under Temporary Insanity.

I slept with my new Traction Pillow last night. It's weird....cuz you can actually feel it tractioning the neck slightly when you position your head on it. I woke up with a bit of a weird soreness ...but they say that's normal while your spine realigns. I think it's going to help. I'm hopeful.

Now that I've typed a book for everyone ......have a great day. My DH is home today and tomorrow....for his birthday. Thus the reason I'm a bit late posting today.

Hi All -

Went for a three mile run today (my last before my half!) and I'm planning on going home over lunch for Yoga for Happiness's Pure Bliss premix. It's a nice 40 minute one. It was a really nice run - I got to see the sun rise and I knocked a full minute off the time of my last run, so I was very excited.

Lora - Your workouts are always incredible! I don't have any of Shiva's workouts, but I hear there are good. Which would you recommend I start with? I'm not looking for power yoga - but something more for stretching, if she has anything like that. I'm still anxiously awaiting your review on the Budokon workout when you do it (not to push - take your time, please!) but when you do it, I'm all ears!

Hi to everyone who follows!!

Christine - Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti is a must have. You can get it relatively inexpensive at Amazon or CDUniverse. It has tons of footage on it and has a matrix so you can preset a practice. It has Lunar segments to do at night, Solar ...which are more challenging. I find her sun salutations and Dancing Warriors to be particularly freeing in the shoulder girdle and I always feel good when I use Yoga Shakti. You really can't go wrong. It's shot on a sand dune in the Maldives Islands and has lovely music. It's one of my all time favorites. Her other stuff like Trance Dance is sort of "out there". I like Fluid Power by her....but there is a learning curve with it, as it's not traditional yoga either....more of a fluid/flowing type of yoga that she has trademarked. Her most normal one is Yoga Shakti.

:)........don't worry -- I'll get around to trying Budokon ....just can't decide if I should add it after a workout next week or do it on my rest day. I'm a bit nervous of doing it on a rest day.

Hi ladies,

No workout for me today - allergies really getting the better of me. Yuck. Went to pilates last night - but given that so much of it is on our backs - I couldn't stop coughing.

Lora - I like Seane Corne's Vinyasa - The body and beyond - Session 2. If you get session 1, it may be too easy for you.

Christine - I second Yoga Shakti.

Hi Jen and Kel. Hope you are both having a good day.

Will try to post later on this evening.

Bye for now.
