Trying To Fit Yoga In for Thurs Feb 22

Cathlete
Morning Yoga Ladies -

This morning I did CIA Criss Cross Cardio with 10 minutes of the standing leg portion of the DVD and a small portion of Tae Bo Amped Full Throttle (just to check it out). I only did a total of 70" of aerobics and burned 420 calories. I did most of my cardio on the rebounder for my foot. I guess I'll have to back off running until it stops with this PF problem. Also won't be using the 3 lb Amped bar for one-handed punches...as my shoulders are hurting BAD this morning and I tried that yesterday.

I keep forgetting to mention my evening Kundalini segments. I did Yoga Bliss Hips 30" Quick Hips one evening, Beginners & Beyond Spinal series another evening and last night I did Fat Free Yoga - Warm up and Open Up segment. Trying to get my fair share of Kundalini in.

My glasses fell apart again this morning....so I have to try to get into my optician....as I can't see that well out of my contacts.

I was curious about Full Throttle cuz I saw someone post over at VF that they thought it was similar to the old Tae Bo Lives and they also said they liked Super Charged Fat Burner. SCFB was my fave Amped so far....so I wanted to see how Full Throttle was. I don't think I did enough of it to give it a fair chance. However, I don't remember if the Tae Bo Lives ever had any single time moves in them like Amped. I guess I'm going to have to dust one of my Tae Bo Live Advanced volumes off to give a spin and see (soon).

Jen - I've never heard of Inhale. Is it good. Do you like the instructor? Does it have lots of twists, forward bends and hip openers, as well as plough and shoulderstand? Yes, I believe 2 of the Slim Series set are 90 min tapes and the rest are 60. Debbie Siebers is okay as instructor. She's sort of low key. The Slim Series can be extremely boring........if you don't jam your own music! The moves are very easy to pick up....so no thought process. Some of them ...like the 90 min ones are a bit neverending.....but it's a good series for slimming down. P90 Masters is meant to be a stepping stone between the original P90 series and P90X. I like the series a lot cuz they are shorter and work well for days you're pressed for time. They range from 45" to 60". He always does a good long stretch on them. Sometimes I even repeat a segment to make it a bit longer. I like them a lot.....especially the Sculpt one, Plyo Legs and Interval Cardio. All very good IMO. As mentioned above, I've been trying to fit my Kundalini back in. Thanks for the advice about the job. You're a very "level" headed person! I appreciate your feedback. Although, I haven't been offered anything yet.....but I'm just so worried that everything's going to make it so difficult to know what sign I'm supposed to see from God (in answer to all of my prayers) and that I'll end up in the wrong place yet again.

Yve - I didn't know you were from Canada. What part? Wow, I was in Missisauga, Ontario (spelling) once in February LONG AGO and it was so cold there. I could never live there, but I guess you get used to it? Re: the insomnia....I'm so sorry you suffer from it. I haven't been able to sleep for the past 7 nights without taking something. I think all of this job stress is getting to me. I keep thinking about everything that "might" happen and my mind goes 100 miles a minute. I've only been able to sleep about 4 hours a night. I usually only get 5 a night when I'm working. Since I suffer from insomnia all of the time (especially when I'm working) - I have to sleep deprive myself. If I get 6 hours of sleep a night or two in a row, I'll be up for 3 days.....as it's too much sleep for me. I don't know why I'm like this. I know it's not good for me, but if you can't sleep, you can't sleep. (ditto to what I said to Jen about job advice....thanks for your advice). By the way, the Health Care sytsem is this country needs some major work!!

Well, now that I've written another book............I'll be back later.

Goodmorning ladies,

Today's workout was Rhthmic Step. Tonight after work I will do the Litsa Kapatanais dvd.

Lora - I live just outside of Mississauga in a city called Brampton. I don't know that I get used to the cold...I just keep telling myself that spring is near - spring is near!!! We have had a long stretch of cold - that is for sure - and today it is snowing again.
WRT the job - I think the only thing you can do is just weigh all your options - the pros and cons of each - it might even help to list them all on paper - and make a decision based on that. This is all you can do - We never know if a decision we might make will work out for certain. Life is funny that way - but we can only hope that if we make an informed decision - we will have put forth our best effort in moving in the right direction.

I can completely relate to what you are saying about your mind just going in overdrive. My problem is that I can't stay asleep - I wake up worried. It is a bit of a vicious circle in that the less sleep I get - the more anxious I feel - and hence - it's harder to sleep...etc. I have some Valerian Root - but haven't taken it yet. What do you take?

Hello to all who follow.
Will be back tonight.

Yve

Well, the Cardiologist decided to hire the other person. Even though I prayed and asked God to eliminate one option ....as it's too confusing to know what to do.......I still feel "rejected". I guess all of my questioning the workload scared them. They probably got scared that I wouldn't be able to do it.....but I wanted to know what I was getting myself into. I don't want to take a job and be miserable, ya know? I just told the DH and he said "God's Will Be Done". I asked him if he wanted me to refrain from those sorts of questions from now on and just take any old job and he said no.........not yet at least. Thank God he has a good job. I'm hoping Coca Cola will go smoothly and be a good option. I can only pray and do my best at the interview.

Yve - I take ALL kinds of stuff for my insomnia. Every night I take 2 Valerian Root and 1 Melatonin. They say you need to get the Valerian Root built up in your system for about 2 weeks before it works. Not sure about the Melatonin. If I still can't fall asleep....I take an herbal rememdy they sell in Health Food stores and some drug stores (like Walgreens - not sure if you have them in Canada) called Calms Forte. Sometimes those will help me get to sleep and if they still don't I revert to my Ambien. I only get 10 Ambien a month and I usually get REALLY bad with insomnia right before my period and when I'm stressed out. I don't have any side effects from the Ambien, but I don't want to become dependent on them. I've been taking them a bit too much lately, but when it comes down to only getting 2 or 4 hours of sleep, I opt for the 4 hours. Isn't the World small.......the only places I've ever been in Canada are Missisauga and Montreal and Quebec City. Canada is a very clean country from what I've seen. I loved Montreal and so did my husband. I had chocolate pastries every morning and then walked all around the city. Didn't even gain weight....but I was MUCH younger then.

Lora-Inhale is a yoga show on the Oxygen Network. I am a huge fan. I liked yoga before but his (Steve Ross) class made me love it. Not many hip openers per se-I enjoy it because you don't do sun salutes all together-they are sprinkled throughout the practice, which keeps them from getting so repetitive. Sorry about the cardio job-some things work out that way for a reason. Something good is on the horizon for you! You're smart to take your time and consider every option-you'll find the right fit. Glad DH is supportive, too.

Yve-I suffer from insomnia, too and have taken everything that Lora has mentioned except Ambien. I try to keep it natural as much as possible, as well. All the things she mentioned worked great but they do take time to get built up in your system. Canada is a beautiful place! I have only been there a couple of times to towns just across the border, since my dad used to live in Washington state.

I'll give you guys the further scoop on YBB once I have given it a try!

BBL after WO!

Jen

Jen - Darn...I don't get the Oxygen Network. Thanks about the job. I don't know why I feel bad about it? I guess I feel rejected. The DH says if I would have just gone and not said anything about the hours or workload, I probably could have had that job. But again, he doesn't want me to do that just yet. He's hoping Coca Cola pans out. He likes the idea of the big company. Guess What???? Tae Bo Amped and Tae Bo Celebrity Fit is up at Collage with clips........so is the new Firm Maximum Cardio Boot Camp or something like that. I have them on preorder over at Amazon.

Yve - Yes, I've already started my Pro's and Con's list and crossed the one job off today with a big REJECTED next to it. I guess I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today. Need to get over it! Things could be worse!

I better go find some Kundalini to set me straight.......not sure what to pick.

My new shoes came today......ordered them cuz mine were worn out and needed a new pair with the plantar fasciitis flare up. I ended up getting the same pair I had before ....only they are version 2. They are Saucony Grid Tangent 2's. They are the BEST athletic shoes I ever owned. I first got them in Pink/White when Tracey Long came out with the TLT's. She wore them in the Better Burn Better Butt DVD and everyone loved them so she posted the info on the board. They have the most cushioned forefoot I've ever felt and they fit like a glove. They don't have the pink any more but I got them in Blue/White/Silver. They are under Saucony Stability Shoes - Racing shoes....if anyone wants to check them out. I always order my shoes from Zappos.com. They have free returns and great customer service.

Hi ladies! Keeping it short tonight. Must go to bed early!!!! Tonight's WO was Turbo Jam Cardio Party Remix (30 min) followed by Turbo Jam Booty Sculpt and Abs (30 mins). I had planned to add on some butt squeezes at the end, but dinner was ready so I had to stop. Guess that means I will be adding them on tomorrow! It was my first time through on both these workouts. I did not sweat as much w/ Cardio Remix as the other Cardio Parties, but I am sure it's just b/c it's new...once I learn it, I think I will like it as much as the others. The sculpting was much better too....I really felt all those squats...lots of endurance work!

Lora-I now know what you mean about the music on her follow-up series-it is not as good as the original. Bummer!!!! :( I guess it's still goes pretty well with the moves, though.

Have a great night everyone! Talk to ya' later!

Jen

Hi Ladies,

I didn't do the Litsa Kaptanais as planned - I just didn't have the energy tonight.

Lora - I think it's normal to feel let down in this sort of situation. But - I am a believer in that things happen for a reason - and perhaps something else will come along that will be a better fit. BTW - with respect to your comment re small world - I am originally from Montreal, Quebec - and moved to Ontario as a young girl.

Jen - on what cable provider do you get Oxygen network? I haven't heard of it. The Steve Ross dvd sounds like it is really good.

Hope you all have a nice evening.
