Morning Yogini's -

This morning I did Gilad's Elite Forces Workout followed by a portion of Tae Bo Amped Turbo Charged Fat Burner & the part of Hi/Lo Gliding Intervals with Marcus Prolo......total of 75 minutes w/ w/u & c/d and burned 514 calories. I did most of these on the Rebounder to modify for my foot and found that they actually all worked quite well on the Rebounder! I loved doing Amped on the Rebounder....really amped it up ...especially listening to Buckcherry! I also did 75" of Eion Finn's Power Yoga.

For some reason, this particular Eion DVD doesn't "do it" for me. This is the first time I've ever done the total 75 minute practice. I prefer the 46 minute premix on it. The sun salutations at the beginning seem to drag and didn't seem fun. Maybe I'm overtrained from too much of everything!! including yoga? Is it possible to do too much yoga?? Maybe I need to do a few restorative practices.

Jen - Well, Gilad's workout was lots of fun....and great on the rebounder! I have another Rebounding workout that has a boxing segment on the rebounder and that's where I got the idea. Then Tae Bo AMped was even more amped up on the rebounder and I was able to really keep my HR higher by bouncing while doing the moves with the amped bar. I was telling my DH that you and your DH workout together. He thought that was really nice. When we were first married, we used to workout together....but now we each have our own rooms, etc.....I think it will be 20 years this May (or 19?). I wish my DH would do some different stuff with me today, but he won't. I think he'd actually like some of it and would be crosstraining more than just using the elipitical, treadmill and lifting!

Re: Transcription/Jobs, etc - what do you do now for a living? I'm just curious cuz I have that job interview tomorrow and I think it's doing Transcription in a Cardiology practice, but you have other duties, along with the transcription (and if you've done transcription - you know that never works!!)...so I'm not really thrilled about the interview...but I'll do whatever I have to do.

I'm glad you liked the Gloves from BB. Are they 1.5 pounds or 1 pound? My pair from BB is 1.5 and I ended up buying a 1 pound set...as the 1.5's were a bit rough on my shoulders.

RE: TJ on the Ball - let me know what you think of the Body Blast one....as I don't think it's that intense for a TJ workout. It is my least fave and another reason I think I don't enjoy it so much is cuz of the music. I've heard Chalene is having a tougher time getting the rights to the music (as are a lot of exercise instructors these days) and I think that's why the music isn't as good.......what does this mean for the future of TJ & Cathe's for that matter. It scares me! Those darned record people!

Meg - Well....did you try and J. Kries?

Hi to Yve ...wherever you are and anyone else that's out there.

I'll be back later.

ETA: Geez......sorry for typing a book!

Morning everyone! DH & I are going to brunch today at Pappadeux-a sorta cajun seafood restaurant (for those of you that have never been to one). Yes, as you can tell, my eating habits have not changed much on the weekends....it's a good thing I am pretty stellar during the week. And of course, the discipline takes an even bigger nosedive on vacation. Let's see, what's up for today...more cleaning probably and maybe groceries, but I might put groceries off until tomorrow. WO wise, I guess it just depends on how DH's back feels today. I am dying to get into my new TJs, but that will probably have to wait for one of his rest days-unless I feel motivated to tack it on after our WO.

Lora-I enjoyed your "book" this morning! :) I will BBL to follow-up!

Have a great day everyone and I will be back to chat a little later on!

Jen

Hi again, Lora! :) Tonight's WO was one that was almost ALMOST as long as some of yours. I did Turbo Jam Cardio Party # 2 (45 min) followed by Inhale yoga with Steve Ross (45 min). I think I will try to do a little extra yoga this week....while we were going to brunch this morning, we got rear-ended pretty hard while sitting at a stoplight. Ouch! My back and shoulders are a little outta' whack right now, but I have been rear-ended in the same way before and the yoga straightened it out. It was just a scary thing to happen and you end up holding that tension in your body. TJ was probably not the best thing for me today, but we ate like crazy and I felt like I needed it. Plus, it really made me extra warm for the yoga that followed and it felt really good. I miss a good power yoga session like that sometimes! I am really, really liking the TJ now that I actually get the choreography. It is so much fun!

Hope you have a great night and I will catch up with some more specific replies to post tomorrow!

Hi ladies,

This morning's workout was one hour pilates class - we used the foam rollers again to do core work as well as arms/chest - and my whole body was just shaking while doing it.

Lora - is learning to use the rebounder difficult? It sounds that it would require an incredible amt of upper and lower body control to be able to do the tae bo type stuff without springing too far. Do you find that it helps with your foot pain? WRT the restorative practice - I personally look forward to having my restorative yoga session, after doing 3 vinyasas. Its grounding for me.

Jen - Oh my goodness - how scary! I hope that you have no lasting effects of your accident this morning. Perhaps an rmt massage is in order - as a preventative. Cajun brunch sounds really nice. I love spicy food also. It sounds like you are really enjoying your TJs. I don't own them - are they bouncy and lively like Cathe's? Similar choreography?

Hi to Meg, Janie and all who follow.

Have a nice evening ladies -
Yve
